If management of Freeports were taken away from Zoners, what kind of political power would they have left? Would they be able to bring a consequence/penalty so they wouldn't get dumped on by anyone that feels like it?
Won't that make the faction a really ^%*&&# one that doesn't provide anything but restrictions, over other trading/shipping factions?
In the long term, wouldn't it either force them to resort to armed ships, caps even, either for defense purposes or to provide consequences? I'm not sure if I would like seeing Zoner fleets roaming for bloody revenge.
To me it feels like taking Freeports away from Zoners would create more problems than it solves.
On the other hand, Order could just take a few more lanes. :)

About the Freeports: zoners could keep it, but administrate it locally (different zoner groups). To illustrate the idea (it's just a proposal), here is an example on Earth: just replace "freeport" by "fiscal paradise" and "zoner" by "independent bank", then consider the relationships between different fiscal paradises. If someone is bad with the Bahamas independent Bank, he would be banned from it; however would it affect his relation with Luxembourg? Maybe not, so there is no direct unity between the independent banks. However, the main users of the Bahamas independent bank would get angry against the troublemaker in Bahamas. Thus the troublemaker would be banned from Bahamas and suffer indirect consequences from clients of this fiscal paradise.

Honestly, things would probably be better if we could split the single zoner IFF/ID (or at least the IFF) into multiple ones. However, the amount of q_q and (guessing here) dev/admin work required would probably make such an idea impossible.

I don't understand why zoners are even a faction. Delete them and replace with freelancers. And make the same 5ker rule the zoners had. Problem solved all free ports are freelancer bases and order comes back to delta so I can murder ossies with my mako.
Like seriously why do they even exist,they're freelancers that use 5kers outside of house space. Nephilims and zoner caps have no purpose at all.

Zoners aren't freelancers, individual freelancers can still end up being affiliated with certain groups and hated by others. Zoners tend to not want to be affiliated or hated by any groups(it sometimes happens like OSI not being liked in rheinland and TAZ's hostilities with Order but not nearly as often as freelancer groups or individuals)

There were plans along that line being discussed amongst the Zoner officials and the Admins, but they were shelved by the admins after the pointless and useless FR5 against order.
I also want to point out that broad simple statements about zoners and zoner caps are inherently ignorant. and that QQing about wanting zoner dead/removed/nerfed to oblivion only serves to show lack of knowledge.

I do not think it is about docking. I can speculate that the Order members have a low morale right now, after this FR5 issue.
