Subject: The Siege of Scaglainne Oir: After Action Report

This is Banshee Actual.

Scaglainne Oir is no more. With it, our concerns about a "neutral" station providing support to our enemies in Dublin are laid to rest.

The op took eight days to complete. Serious resistance started once the Black Sails acted on their extortion attempt. The entire 4th Assault Group got massacred outside the station, and the 6th suffered heavy losses as well. However, the PRF managed to regroup and counterattack, routing the raiders and even destroying their reinforcements from outside the system.

All PRF pilots taking part in the op, as well as independent Molly units and allied formations, have acquitted themselves well. The following units deserve special mention for their valour:

Coalition warship Yugoslavia;
IMG warship Rockabill;
Provisional Republic warship Noblesse Oblige;
Provisional Republic warship Belfast;
Molly warship Kilmacduane;
Molly warship Gilded;
Molly pilot Jill Siddeley;
Molly pilot Kayden McElroy;
Mercenary pilot, callsign "Suntiger-7";
And many others.

The Corsairs' disdain for outsiders and ignorance of our ways continue to work against them. Their interference did not manage to stop our forces from accomplishing their objective, nor accomplish their own listed objective of thinning our forces to a sufficient degree. Even with their individual tactical successes, like the ambush of the 4th Assault Group, they did not manage to inflict casualties over the course of the operation without suffering similar losses themselves. The overall strategic situation remains unchanged, but both sides have been weakened. Any thought of reaching an accord with the Santander has now been buried, even as we both risk getting swept by the Kingdom's counteroffensive.

The Armed Forces only committed a token few assets to this hotspot, and contented themselves to sit back and observe. They will likely make their move once the smoke clears.

The only comforting development is our surviving units have gained experience, and the salvage recovered from the battlefield will offset the repair costs.

Long live Free Dublin.

This is Banshee Actual.

As of this moment, our unit is on detached duty from the rest of the Provisional Republic Fleet. We're to station ourselves on Lisburn Rock and monitor the area while waiting for further instructions. We're also to keep an eye on traffic around Sprague, and to play nice with the local Chartists. That last one might have been implied.

I won't lie, it feels like we are leaving Dublin in a time of need. But these orders come directly from the Admiral, and we will carry them out to the best of our ability.

Prepare your ships and get some rest. We fly to Cambridge in twelve hours.

Long live Free Dublin.

Subject: Lisburn Rock

This is Banshee Actual.

I'm happy to report that Banshee Squadron successfully ran the blockade and relocated to Lisburn Rock. All ships have managed to reach the destination safely, including the accompanying supply vessel, the PRS Sacrifice. We're now ready to deploy in the eastern border region.

Upon first glance, Lisburn Rock seems to be in a better state than any of our Dublin facilities. It is well-concealed, is not under an active blockade, and has access to water that the local Mollys mine from the surrounding ice clouds to keep life support running. However, the locals have a very different idea of acceptable supply usage. They are wasteful and undisciplined, and their commanders are not as strict as the ones in Dublin. The station is also very crowded. Our arrival was enough to nearly start a fight over trying to secure a landing pad for the squadron, and God only knows how to get everyone a place to sleep, even if they had to do it in shifts.

Still, we have done some preliminary recon, and the results are encouraging. Immediately upon arrival, we have encountered a Bowex barge. It was empty, but the captain "donated" us some credits in exchange for his life.

The patrol then moved to investigate the barge's origin and located Eureka Station in the F4 sector of the Cambridge system. It is a Class 3 Bowex installation, the purpose of which I can't begin to guess, so I will simply make note of it for now. We moved on to the Omega-3 gate, which is where we encountered an independent pilot, callsign Lazurith. I recognised him from his earlier visits to Arranmore. Unfortunately, our conversation was cut short when I was hailed on a private channel by someone claiming to have an offer for the Assembly.

We proceeded to the Omega-3 system and found a Hogosha Raba-class frigate waiting at Freeport 1. Scans indicated a cargo of provisions, as well as cigars and other luxury items. I briefly spoke to the captain over a secure channel. His offer boiled down to turning these items over to us, and procuring more supplies for us in the future in exchange for our gold. He claimed that doing business with the Crown is not in the interest of his benefactors. I am unsure whether he can be trusted. Given the history of Kusari involvement against us, and the Hogosha involvement in the artifact trade, his actions seem unorthodox. But Dublin may need these supplies. I will leave it to the Assembly's judgement how to respond.

Regardless, it's good to know that Freeport 1 is available as a neutral meeting point, even if it is far from a secret one.

Once the conversation concluded, the patrol returned to Cambridge, where we found and eliminated a lone Corsair gunboat. Some engine and weapon components were salvaged from the wreck and brought back to Lisburn Rock.

After a short break, the patrol moved in the New London direction, where we linked up with another Molly pilot, callsign Yellow. Together, we met a Bundschuh convoy on its way from Dublin to Rheinland with a shipment of gold. We agreed to give them an escort home. I've heard of the 5-11-Dresden route from our smugglers, but have never taken it myself before now. It's a relatively short journey, but not without its dangers. The minefields in Omega-5 are going to be a significant obstacle for future operations in the area, and the red giant star in Omega-11 prohibits long-term exposure.

Still, we saw the convoy safely to Dresden. On our way back, we encountered and destroyed a Corsair cruiser within the Hammen Hole in Omega-5.

From there, the patrol returned to Lisburn Rock and stood down for rest and rearmament. For now, we will continue monitoring the local traffic and keep an eye on the Portsmouth and Sprague to see how the situation develops. I'm now headed to a meeting with the station administration, as we will have to work with them to advance our positions in this war.

Banshee Actual out.

Subject: Strange Blue thing.

Keane here, reporting in.

After a satisfyin’ flight through the local Omegas and around Lisburn, I found a desire to hitch a lift to Ithaca in Omega Seven. Picked up myself one of them lovely lookin’ Thors and hightailed it to Arranmore. She’s in service bay three now, being refitted to punch extra big holes through some of our larger foes that prowl around our turf.

Went to take my leave back to Lisburn, only to make it out of the landing bays and be catchin’ a sensor glimpse of some anomaly type thing. I know, we got alotta dead connections in an’ around Dublin, but this one was different. It was moving! Hooked up with the ol’ Bucket, one of our movement’s mining rigs who just about finished their shift and there it was. Some spooky lookin’ weirdly-glowing blue thing. One of our Coalition comrades stuck around for a bit, an’ spoke some about how they “have never seen one of these in the Omegas” but they didn’t stay long. After they took their leave, it looped round and did nothing more than stick out like a sore thumb. Then it seemed to… speak? Not too sure, the comms relay didn’t pick anythin’ up. It glowed plenty too, some kinda strange discharges of energy from stickin’-out bits.

Whatever it was, its dangerous. The damn thing made me look silly… and yet it let me go. My old gal’s in critical condition, smokin’ in more places than I can count, an’ yet when it shoulda finished the job, it chose not to. Initial reports from the repair crew can’t even tell me what hit me that hard either. They punched through the electronics and the coolant systems, almost had to crash her down in the hangar. I hope Assembly Command know what to do with all the data, though I ain’t sure whether “unknown” is all that useful. I’m promptly catchin’ the next ride to Lisburn to resume the efforts of the Banshee wing. Figured I should forward this before I leave.

Bí ar do gharda..

This is Banshee Actual. Priority message for all units in the border regions.

On a routine patrol, we have encountered a Merchant Navy liner belonging to the Bretonian Armed Forces. Upon questioning, the captain disclosed that his ship is meant to be part of a supply run into the Omicrons. Furthermore, this supply run is targeted at the Core -- the one group in the Omicrons with unquestionable ties to the Houses. I'm attaching the log for review.

I advise all units to keep an eye out for this convoy and be ready to intercept it at a moment's notice. Interference with the operations of the Armed Forces is crucial to our efforts.

From: Chief Ewan Thomas, CRA.
To: All Fighters of the Banshee Squadron
Subject: Local primer

This is Chief Thomas.

I appreciate the Republic deploying a wing to lend a hand out this way, and I see many of you have settled in on Lisburn already. I wasn't expecting the gesture after the, uh... fractious response in the Assembly. Regardless, I've been asked to provide a primer for any Dublin natives that aren't used to working out this way.

First up, Lisburn itself. Probably the busiest and most cramped Molly base. You've got elbow room and that's about it - we've got a lot of folk training up as fighters off Sprague, plus most of the generational civvies that were in Poole before the jump holes collapsed. We're all living on top of each other, so be considerate. Don't use more than your water ration for washing, keep the noise down when it's a night cycle, avoid drink if you're gonna get lairy. Your ships have been earmarked for priority resupply and repair, and that's coming out of the local patrol budget. You folks have a job to do, and we'll make sure you can do it - but don't take the piss.

In terms of keeping the peace, there's a thick streak of Chartism running through Lisburn's recent arrivals. They don't have much truck with the Coalition or their beliefs, so if you're one for planned economies run by the revolutionary vanguard, avoid politics for this deployment. Nowt wrong with believing that, I suppose, so long as you're never in a position to make actual decisions. You'll also find reps from the Ithaca Council aboard, and they're a bunch of cut-throat bastards. They're here for coin, not the cause, so again - talk shop but not politics. They're a potential line on mercenaries for use against the Crown, so try not to piss em off - too much, anyway.

Now, on to Cambridge and Omega-3. This is another front line against the Corsairs, and the primary logistics route they take to New London and Dublin. We've got a relatively good lock on Keswick where we are now, but you can't take anything for granted. Corsairs are constantly probing, and you'll often find Hunters trying to pick off one of our rookies for a quick payout. If you're looking to hit Corsair smugglers and supply ships headed for London, the Newcastle Field is the place to be. That way you'll pick up any runners taking the long route through the Peterborough Field, or trying to slip in from Omega-3. Hit a target then leave, as the welcome wagon will roll up in force pretty quick if you make too much noise.

Highly recommend staying out of the Grasmere. It's an absolute Corsair hive, and the Gaians also consider the place their turf. Normally the Gaians have a bit of a local live and let live policy around here, but they'll brook no intruders in southern Grasmere. Not a fight that's worth having when we have bigger issues to be dealing with. On that note, Armed Forces seem to have orders not to chase us into the clouds, as they know what'll happen if they do. Make of that what you will. Only time the Norfolk is an issue is raids hitting the gates or lanes. The CDI still provide a lot of security in these parts too, which is good because they're a pretty useless lot. If you see a CDI wing come in, check out whether they've got a proper copper as a wing leader. If so, all bets are off. If not, you can probably pay em to fuck off.

Omega-3 is a rough neighbourhood. Lots of Corsairs, but we can also bank on the Hessians to lend a hand when things get real hairy. Maybe not as much these days, as I hear they've been having troubles of their own. But it is something. Good pickings on the lanes, especially where the response time from the Norfolk is a little slower out this way. If you find something decent that we can't use ourselves, you can always fence it to the Zoners, although they'll thank you not to drag open Molly business to their door while witnesses are about.

You're more likely to run into trouble with corporate security scrambling from Sprague than the actual law. On that note, we've got a number of cells on Sprague itself, stirring the pot and drumming up support. Lots of recruitment goes on there, and a fair bit of orderly and disorderly protest. If for some reason you find yourself on Sprague - willingly or through mishap - my advice is to head down. Law is for the surface and the factories. The further down you go, the worse the gangs get. Not our folks, either. Life on a knife edge, down there. Mollys would earn a lot of good will by rounding up some of the worst offenders and applying a pickaxe for the public good. Take over that turf and run it on our terms. Lot of people would welcome us in with open arms - the underground unions would for sure.

That's the bulk of it. I'm on site at Lisburn to lend a hand and smooth out friction if need be. Let me know what's needed.

One man, one vote.

To: All Mull squadrons.
Subject: Assignments.

Attention all Mull squadrons, your standing orders are as follows.

A post-factum notice Hellburners have relocated to point Home in full capacity. Hellburner actual has been briefed on your MO for the coming assignment and should have briefed relevant personnel on the spot; Bundoran is tasked to provide logistical support as necessary, coordinate with the crew as necessary. Formally, Bundoran is answering to Hellburner actual for this assignment.

Hellburners are to assist at defensive lines only in case of critical emergency, otherwise present directives take precedence.

Flashers are on an external assignment to point Lunge. We all agree our interests do not align with Chartists too much but, be as it may, they are too our Kin. Assist with their routine on Sprague and Lunge security as necessary, however, any outstanding requests with moderate priority must go down the chain of command for approval; Flasher actual has been trusted with secret clauses regarding potential recruits squadron discovers, members will be briefed on a need-to-know basis. Point Lunge is to serve for resupply, we can not allocate any logistical assets to the area for the moment.

Carry out your orders with due dilligence.

Prowlers, Pouncers, Pounders, Dunderrow & Inchydoney companies are shuffled and to report to point Vantage and tighten security around Galloway. Any unathorised ships must be stopped and either detained or routed. Lethal force is authorised.

Mothership is to relocate to point Home and bolster the defenses.

Everyone not explicitly mentioned - carry out your routines as usual. Now we must stand firm and united more than ever.

Long live Free Dublin.

To: All RPA Units
Subject: Update

This is Fleet Command.

Mr. Phelps' discovery represents a renewed hope for us, but only a faint one. Already several ships were lost trying to brave the unstable connection to Omega-48 that he has shown us. Still, with the Essex apparently back in New London after a retrofit, the blockade is once again reinforced by big guns, which makes the risk of navigating this anomaly worth considering. Commanders are encouraged to use caution and weigh their options when tasked with leading their units out of Dublin on expeditions.

The Free Dublin Shipping Company is already working on establishing trade contacts on Gran Canaria, and a new path has opened for reinforcements from the Red Hessians and the Coalition. The IMG will also likely benefit from an alternate supply route. The Zoners of Gran Canaria, who may well become the next target of Bretonian imperialism, are being considered by the Assembly as potential partners, but no talks have been initiated yet.

Perhaps the only true downside of this development is the possibility of the Santander escaping retribution through the new jump hole, if the Corsairs' sense can outweigh their arrogance and ambition. From what we know of them, that is unlikely to happen yet.

Fleet Command out.

Nora,

I've a few favours to ask, if you're willing.

Some of our Hacker friends are looking into acquiring some Carix, otherwise known as 'Slog'.
The fact of the matter is that there's bound to be a growing interest outside of Bretonia for this shite and where there's interest, there's credits. Now, don't get me wrong, I hate crap like this as much as the next sanity loving man, but the movement needs the cash.

Word has it, there's already the odd lab in operation on Mull itself, the other cells smell profit and are clocking on.

Firstly, I need you to assist me with cobbling together an order of 5000 units of the stuff from whatever cells are producing, don't worry about coming up a bit short, my lads on Sprague may be able to smuggle out the rest needed.
If you can, find me some extra lads we can trust for a discrete job. You know the kind, those who don't need their balls cutting off for dipping into the product.

Then, I'd like you to keep me informed of who our brothers-in-arms are selling to, I want to know where this shite flows and I want to know more about who some of the key players are.
I want us to have control over this trade and perhaps turn an otherwise bad situation into a temporarily beneficial one, once the Assembly pulls it's finger out.

I've a few things in motion on my end, but I'm stuck in a bit of a traffic jam at the moment.

Speak soon.

From: Nora Rees Brennan, Mull Base
To: Darian Wynne
Subject: RE: The Slog

Darian.

I'm sorry it took so long. The reason why is because I launched an investigation on my own here but essentially, it returned more questions than answers. That's correct, there's that odd chemical lab on Mull that'd streamlined the creation of this... substance, and demand for it exists inside and outside the movement. Among the Rogues, for instance, those not "hooked" on Cardamine but looking for a quick dose of cheap pleasure. Quite frankly, some testimonies I gathered suggest it's some exalts from other bases banding together through means of an off-hand agreement with the locals that slipped past me as it has no bureaucratic trace. But from what I understand, they were left to their own devices for a good chuck of their revenue going to Mull coffers rather than their pockets. But as far some more testimonies say, this little merry band is no stranger to dealing with any odd clientele that isn't too picky with the clientele. Especially one that doesn't smile in the face to our unruly neighbors in New London. According to them, Slog traffic goes as far Gallia, Liberty, part of it finds it's way to Sprague and even some cities on New London.

For the origins of it, I have a looming suspicion it's a fringe group of a new batch of recruits from Sprague that got a crackdown on their heads once Chartists caught wind of their nasty chemical business. Strange that this is the way it went, but not disappointing.

I will have someone keeping an eye out for their customers and business, and your cargo should be expecting pickup on Mull. It's reserved, crates marked with the flamboyant title Lovelace has given you. Can't miss it. And if you are looking for a reliable independent contractor I can suggest "Phaeton" - they've been working for us for a while, both with basic and more specialised supplies. There is a few others, but I'd need to access Kinsale database to pass their NN contact data.

If there is anything else related to this... delicate case - don't hesitate to let me know.
