RE: RM/RP/MND vs Corsairs vs Red Hessians | Fighting over the Ashes | Fri Nov 24, 5pm UTC - Couden - 11-24-2023 Corsair side disappeared real fast for now plus Rheinland Police BS appeared for some reasons. Gf (Sturmschiff) RE: RM/RP/MND vs Corsairs vs Red Hessians | Fighting over the Ashes | Fri Nov 24, 5pm UTC - CreatorRA - 11-24-2023 I think the number of caps could maybe be increased a bit, when the opposing battleships were being destroyed so quickly that I had to respond to the LF with battleships, I barely hit any fighters. RL had taken me to suplex city RE: RM/RP/MND vs Corsairs vs Red Hessians | Fighting over the Ashes | Fri Nov 24, 5pm UTC - Barrier - 12-05-2023 Routine patrols in Dresden have noticed an increase of activity around the Daumann Lavafeld, and promptly informed the ready forces in New Berlin. By the time the ready vessels of the Hausflotte arrived in blocking formation, they were facing two separate forces - a larger Corsair contingent, and a smaller Red Hessian one. Maintaining good order, the commander of the blocking force opened a channel, urging the fleets to disperse to avoid a major engagement near the jump gate. With no side willing to make the first move, the situation turned into a tense stalemate, with various captains slinging insults over the open channels. This short-lived calm was broken by the El.Arca, who led a frontal assault against the Rheinland formation. While suffering heavy damage as a result, the maneuver shattered the formation, immediately causing the ordered lines to break up into a number of smaller engagements. The Hessian commander, unwilling to wait for a better opportunity than this, promptly ordered Granit into the fray. In the first few minutes of the battle, the El.Arca and the Imperator Leo, the battlecruiser Hessen, and both Oder gunboats were critically damaged, along with a number of snub craft on all sides. The Granit force, deciding that the Rheinland force was sufficiently crippled, focused their attention on the Corsairs. However, this decision left the Battleship Utgard unprotected, a fact which was taken advantage of by the remaining capital vessels. Due to the skill, experience, or perhaps the luck of the fight, no more Rheinland vessels would be disabled during the battle. The cruiser captains formed an effective hunting force, isolating the remaining capital vessels in the vicinity and disabling them in turn. The arrival of battleship Grendel a few minutes later already saw the conclusion of the battle, and the start of rescue/salvaging operations by an enterprising Junker. Großadmiral Henze, still nominally in command of the Hauseflotte, has given a short speech, praising the swift and effective response of the ready vessels. The defeat of a numerically superior force (no matter the inclinations of the invaders) has been used to highlight the need for continued vigilance in New Berlin, which does not come without cost. Ironically, multiple officials praised the same effort as an effective use of existing funds, citing the decisive victory as sufficient evidence of their continued denial of increased funding for the Hauseflotte. With Rheinland's enemies unlikely to attempt another costly assault in the near future, the same funds can be safely invested in the continued expansion of corporate interests within the Omegas.
