Lord Commander, I've been thinking about what you've said. Why would I want to leave my easy life of piracy for a life of near-military revolution?
The answer is that I already live near to your lifestyle. I have long foregone my piracy, choosing instead to take forays deeper into Liberty space, and have often fought alongside the Hellfire Legion against the Liberty Navy. I hold a deep seated passion for the Lane Hacker cause, as my parents both died at the hands of overzealous military pilots, who went from a mere supply depot raid to opening fire on the nearby outpost of sympathizers; civilians who devote their time to secretly assist the causes they believe in.
It wasn't long for me to accumulate debts. Living alone, just barely a teenager, I had to take all kinds of support payments, but those just weren't enough. I took some loans, with promise to repay, and never really did. I was drafted into the Hackers in order to work it off through indentured service. When my time was up, I just never found a reason to leave. Remembering my parent's last screams as I whizzed away on a crowded escape pod, I vowed never to fire on a civilian. When I joined raids and piracy groups, I would never fire on civilians.
I come to you now to join a movement greater than pirates and brigands. I want to have an impact on the lives of Libertonians, and deliver judgment to those who do not deserve the titles of Defender.

Mai Keoh, you honestly expect us to allow you into the Legion with that background? If you want to be a "part of a group" you could just as easily go to the Rogues or worse yet, join the Navy. You give us little to no reason to trust you aside from "loyalty", and with an application like that I doubt you know much of what loyalty really is.
You offer help, and don't even specify what sort of help, all this after saying you're not even skilled in a fighter or bomber.

Alright, Im a fair fighter pilot. I can handle a wide array of weapons from scatterguns to repeating rail cannons.
I know more ways to kill a man than a cook knows to cook an egg. I can patch half dead soldiers together. Im a soldier, what else do you want?
What are your reasons for joining us?
This is where the average joe comes along and tells you he wants to do it for Liberty, to free us from the yoke of oppression and whatever over patriotic bull they want to say. I want to get a chance to pay my former compatriots back for abandoning me. You know what the standard benefit pay is for a Liberty Naval pilot that loses a leg? A few thousand credits.
I used that crap payment to buy myself a half working cybernetic leg. Not that that should worry you. You want pilots not mobile infantry.

Well i have had experience in fighting off a few LPI agents and running off with the cargo i've seized. I would consider myself a good pilot able to hold my own in a fire fight. I havent had any special training as some of the others you hired may have of course. But i have what it takes to fight and destroy the enemies of the Hellfire Legion.
What are your reasons for joining us?
Liberty is a house i no longer wish to be a part of. Over time i have not only seen what they do to people that disagree with LSF and are spouting "Treason" but I have experienced it first hand. All I was trying to do was warn people that a nomad was heading for New York but LSF didnt like me spouting "Lies" and tried to take me into custody. I know those taken never return so i grabbed my ship and got away.
How would you joining the Hellfire Legion benefit us?
I am a good pilot and can follow orders. If you need a pilot with combat experience i'm the one your looking for, if you need a scout to examine the enemy force before attack i can do that as well, and if you need a distraction as other ships return for repairs i can do that too. I can do almost any job, that is how i believe to benefit the Legion.
