Edit : On the whole subject of the 'Not telling anyone', why should one bother to tell people about something that doesn't realy matter at one point. The fact that we didnt make a shiny thread saying 'We're doing this or that!' is because we first wanted to talk things over on Skype with a certain group of people.
The problem is that you didn't talk things over with the right people FIRST. A thread isn't necessary, nor is making it public knowledge, but informing faction leaders is certainly the polite and correct thing to do. What has happened is, at the very least, plain rude.

Why would we talk things over with the people first whilst nothing has been set in motion yet? All we did was make a rough concept to talk over and launch a raid or two. Once I had the propper Skype details things would be talked over and propperly planned or discarded entirely.

Well, I still think they should have been informed it was coming. Not in order to mount a response, just so they didnt get the idea that you didnt care about what they thought, which is the idea a lot of people seem to have gotten, myself included. Also to avoid confusion about what was and was not happening, like whether or not there will be any in modifications to the game, as I thought this was going to hapen as well at the start of this. Now it does seem like an honest mistake though.

Well, far as I can tell, nothing happened yet.
The only different thing is that the Keepers are playing the destruction of FP11, which won't happen tomorrow, or the next week, or the next or the next.

This is happening now, they are starting to change it NOW, they didn't do it YET.

I understand Mal's feelings, but he must understand that nothing happened yet, and that he's gonna be contacted (they already did) to work it up.

How long would it take to make this changes? A month? 2 months? half year? a year? even a month is enough time to work with it.

Also, I'm sure the Zoners can build another Freeport soon enough, one with lot more of defenses. Losing a station is not the end of the Zoners, or the Zoners RP.

Mal is pissed because no one consulted him, but they are doing it now.

Like I said, nothing had been set in motion yet. We were going to discuss it entirely with all parties involved in one swoop, rather than talking past eachother in 1-1 PM's.

And I think if you had atleast mentioned the raid happening to them before doing it, then this whole thread could have been avoided. But yes, everything seems like it is all good now, just a big misunderstanding that i think came from lack of communication.

I think the real issue is with the "secret RP" that seems to be the thing to do at the moment.

Someone announces that "something is happening, but I'm not gonna give you any more info", so everyone goes "meh", forgets/ignores it and goes back to what they were doing. Then, suddenly, something happens, and everyone's like "What the!...POWERPLAY!" (which seems to be another favoured concept at the moment), and the flinging begins...

Miscommunication - Grumblesaur - 06-27-2009

Here's what I say:

Turn your guns off and don't play those characters for a week while you discuss this.

Miscommunication - Zapp - 06-27-2009

This thread was me telling everyone that my RP was changing in a rather noticeable way, and apologizing for doing something I don't like -- gunning people down rather quickly. I prefer to shoot second.

Now, here I am, giving everyone a warning about my RP, and what happens? You tell us to give some warning? To tell people? Uh huh. We were gonna, we are now, so please, stop saying the same thing over and over again. People are informed. Life goes on.

That said, I reserve the right to raise Holy Thud at a later date.

I've told the CoZ that they're free to continue "playing" if they wish to. Same goes for the TAZ i suppose.

Does my three years here "count" as opposed to the fellow who just "signed on"...?

We shall see. We shall see.

I'll wait for that consultation.
