Yes, i have, but that was when i was figuring out how to use it (ive ony had it for a week and a half), now i will not leave gamma without a fighter escort, and not engage any fighters or bombers (in fact now, it is not really a choice, with the loadout i have on it, fighting bombers and fighters is suicide for me).
Poke fun at me all you like, i just know myself that it is no longer true...
Away from me however, i think that gankings would be lessened by more order and regementing of faction (NPC and player), so that if the fight gets one sided, someone has the authority to tell his fellow pilots to hold back, and they listen.

I wonder... a little bit of a related sidetrack.
Alot of the forum and ingame "aggressiveness" COULD BE contributed to, because people are unable to take it out ingame. Fours hours is a long time to wait to get back into the system, or to engage again. Fours hours doesn't stop the anger. People get spiteful, sanctiony, jumpy.
Things are not resolved, in this form of "go to your bedroom, you naughty boy, for getting beaten". I know the four hour rule is not the intention of that, but it feels like that many times.
Many PVP servers are fun (to me).
Playing RP is even more fun (to me).
Joe, could you propose to the admins that the 4 hour rule gets dropped for a week and we see what happens? I'd be interested in seeing if it helps defuse some of the forum and ingame aggressiveness or if it encourages it.
My theory is this:
People don't let things go. They get angry. They often stay angry for four hours. They make reports in their anger. There is no valve, no anger release. Then they pass along the anger, with claims of admin bias when things dont go their way. Unresolved anger turns into bitterness and eventually hatred. Those get taken out on forums and ingame, they make it personal. They end up hating the actual person instead of rping appropriately and remaining friends.
We need a valve, since people seem unable to valve themselves. Something needs to change. Just what? I'm not sure. This is one suggestion that might help people be better "than the way they are."
I know the admins try to do their best, but im just wondering...
I don't want the admins to just dismiss this idea either. I'd like them to have a serious debate about changing the four hour rule to something else. Or something. I don't know. "The way people are" is not an easy thing to guide.
During the time I have taken to write this I have seen some more **** on these forums.

Well i agree with you here Hyung, the four hour rule is influencing the mental state of the players here a lot. I think things would go better if it was lowered to lets say 30 minutes.

I am in agreement with Joe's post and here is why ,also with a little history.
I play on this server to relieve stress from work and family health issues. none of which I have much control over. Some of the people know this.
I will not mention system or character names here. but I will tell you how I felt. The system was raided with few resident players online. I launch and am met by BS's, cruisers, gunboats and various fighters/bombers.
Most if not all fired upon me. the lone resident in the system.
I did mention that it was a bit unfair. the response I received was ,Some of the other (npc Faction) did that to us. Needless to say I was terminated. I was also pissed off. What I wanted was to do the same thing BACK!. That is how angry I was. Many of you know that is not how I am. I am just glad that I did not go back on a ganking rampage.
There has to be a happy medium here. And It does start with the individual and with learning that extra measure of self-restraint.

And to be frank my attire short RP existence here was ALL "GANKED," or whatever,
to be honest if you can't handled a 1 vs 9 *COUGH* LNS, LN, LSF ....others battle don't bother flying. Its simply flight tactics (correction missile turrets defeat most tactics...) I've studied what happens when to many try to attack a small vessel in battle everyone becomes less efficient. So in the way that I see it it is unproductive to outnumber a single target is this battle engine (FL).
But I must say I had insanely good time when being out numbered.

EDIT: I'm SORRY D: I FORGOT THE LPI!!!! I LOVES YOUZ TOO :D (cept i've only fought them a few times and wasn't swarmed with my skills (and my beautiful fighter) a 3 on 1 was fair enough)

For whatever it's worth, Ticcy, I'm out of the LN to avoid wasting my time giving lectures on fairplay, trying to make the whole place a bit better for everyone, when I see what I prevent hit me over and over.
Been that way everywhere, most of the time, and I'm not going to spend my days on a Dread with a gun pointed at everyone again to make sure people get a fair fight.
There's nothing coming from it. I'm just wondering why Joe's still bothering with it, but whatever.
