Actually it doesn't matter what game you're in, there will always be people that just can't behave themselves when they can act quite anonymously. What can be done then ? Make it even harder to get that lolwutpwn-cap. In fact, make it near impossible. If I had had some say in it I'd had made them exclusive to the players that can and will roleplay them - special roleplay request only. But I don't. They're supposed to be majestic pieces of space machinery, and by all right you should want to own one - but now they're just (still) to easily aquired. It did not help moving them to guard systems. Attaining guard status only proves that you can kill NPC's, and that you're possibly good at doing just that. There's no RP in guard. And without them our regular server population would be <50, I'd guess. Battleships attract players, and many good players were attracted by them as well as lolwutters. I just paid somebody else to guardrep my Navy chars for me:P. The only good way of keeping lolwutters from getting caps is faction/admin control. Raisin their prices doesn't do anything. Lolwutters are tenacious people, and many of them don't mind the mindless powertrading required to get the biggest ship on the server. Prices have been raised in .84 iirc and it didn't help. Prices have been raised in .85 and trading has been gimped yet we still have a lot of lolcaps and new ones are being made every few days. Of course no novel. But player must be capable of RP. At the moment, 60% cap users are ****ty RPers, which shouldn't have Battleship and Cruiser at all. Those who are capable of RPing with Battleship are worthy to obtain it. |
