Treaty of Tau - Grumblesaur - 11-03-2009 ' Wrote:Well obviously I am biased not to have this treaty. Before My group makes an official statement (Wuselkobold is semi-inactive for a few days) as a group. I'll just leave some personal thoughts (that are mine and do not reflect the whole IAF.) That's not to say that we can't be pirated by other factions on our trade routes, or eventually end up in a mess that makes -another- enemy. We could end up RPing this out to where it all goes downhill and makes an even bigger mess. Remember, this is just a proposal. We're still working on it, and the feedback is appreciated. EDIT: Dammit, double post. Treaty of Tau - obnoxious1 - 11-03-2009 After discussion last night on Skype & reading this forum thread, then going back & looking over Outcast Role play & Outcast goals, I & SOB/BLS can not support this idea. Here is why: 1st. As Dab stated, It's in the vanilla Role play. IMG & OC just dont get along. To change this would require the dev team to change missions on some bases, re write info cards, ID's Rumors, etc.. I don't see them doing that. 2nd. Pirating miners is a source of income for many Outcasts, To make a treaty with IMG they will surely ask for the OC to stop pirating their ships. Again, not gonna happend. 3rd. IMG will more than likely not tolerate slaves being ran through their zones of influence. Again, another deal breaker. 4th. Outcast are very territorial & basically pretty damn greedy. They had to fight long and hard to survive & obtain the things they have now , Letting another party that is not allied to them & under their thumbs so to say, just wouldn't be Outcast. Such would be the case in Tau 23. Sure their are mine-able asteroids there, yeah the Outcast really don't do mining ( though if someone in the OC wanted to, they could make $) & yes the Outcast would rather see usable materials sit in space on an asteroid than let someone else come in & take it, UNLESS the Outcast could make a profit from it. 5th. As far as Kusari, Outcast have a secretive agreement with Bretonia as far as defense against the Corsairs & Kusari. Something in the same lines could be made with IMG as well, but not a actual peace treaty. If it wasn't for the Kusari & Corsairs giving Bretonia a hard time, I am sure Bretonia would shoot at the OC as well. The best you can probably hope for with IMG & OC relations is a mutual no fire agreement between the military's of each ones houses. that would exclude traders, miners, smugglers & such. & basically, what good is that going to do? Here is why: Yeah, the slaves would be an issue, and that would require all the smugglers to run through the Sigmas. :/ My conclusion drawn is that IMG would have to gain an enemy in the process of this treaty, but that would end up ruining IMG, as the possible enemies are all larger than IMG. But I ask you why we -have- to continue the war. Either way, roleplay will stagnate, but it's best to kick some dust up with something that hasn't been done, isn't it? Options are: IMG and Outcasts keep fighting. We do not progress. IMG and Outcasts cease fighting. Again, we do not progress. I can't see a good ending to either way. EDIT: The ESS, however, seemed to favor the idea, as they have mining, smuggling, and exploration teams. Treaty of Tau - Death.RunningVerminator - 11-03-2009 I don't like that outcasts and IMG can freely move through endinburgh. As a director of Planetform Inc, i disapprove! Can you just, remove that? Pretty please? We already have gaians to deal with, now outcasts moving in our system! That's not to much to ask for, is it? Verm, this treaty has nothing to do with Edinburgh, except for the fact that the Jump Hole to it in Tau-31 is free game for everyone. Treaty of Tau - MarvinCZ - 11-03-2009 The poll is as tendential as possible. "Territorial struggle", says I. Treaty of Tau - Aoyagi - 11-03-2009 If IMG would become neutral with Outcasts, they would be just new Zoners...kinda Treaty of Tau - Death.RunningVerminator - 11-03-2009 ' Wrote:Verm, this treaty has nothing to do with Edinburgh, except for the fact that the Jump Hole to it in Tau-31 is free game for everyone.Bah. Screw this treaty. Any good pirate should know that that IMG is a SERIOUS source of income, and this peace of trash treaty would ruin mine and many others RP. Bad idea. There is no solution. P.S. No offense to you and kazinsal. (sp) Treaty of Tau - Grumblesaur - 11-03-2009 ' Wrote:If IMG would become neutral with Outcasts, they would be just new Zoners...kinda What's wrong with Zoners? ' Wrote:Bah. Screw this treaty. Well, if IMG was out of the picture, in-RP, the Outcasts would have less obstacles in their smuggling path and could make more money as a result. Also, telling me my idea is a piece of trash, and then saying no offense is like slinging sh-, er, your dirty laundry at me and then saying "sorry." I want constructive criticism, in order to make this idea useful, even if it evolves into something -completely- different. And elaborate on your struggle idea, if you don't mind. EDIT: Blast, it didn't merge. |
