As a member of the Coalition i approve highly of these ships, I've had the pleasure of testing them for Alvin and i fell in love how they fly, the current ships while I'll be mildly sad to see go is overpowered by the fact that now i can actually kill something without being destroyed in less than 20 seconds.

Thank you Alvin and those involved with the designing and testing of the ships, to those who don't like our ships; Tough luck.

I don't get it... Why do people like the old ships? They're horrific in every way. The skins are dodgy, the models seem - to me - basic and blocky and the cockpits are just plain messed up.

I don't give a toss about the PvP aspect, because no matter how under/overpowered a ship is by either it's stats or shape, I'm still going to die in it. Based on that, I purely appreciate the aesthetics, which seem better to me, on the new ships.

They like them because they've never flown them or seen them up-close.

New Coalition Shipline - Sturmwind - 06-06-2010

To anyone wondering why people prefer the old shipline to the new one, it's probably because the new one looks a bit broad and generic. The old vessels had a certain shape that made them unique, gradually different from the other ship designs employed by the Alliance-descendants.

That statement made my day.

I can see the influences from hessian and border-world engineers very nice. The coalition in Sirius need something that sets them apart from the rest of Sirius but at the same time the coalition. These ships are most excellent.

To me they look a bit simple

Utilitarian items are supposed to be effective, easy to manufacture, and functional. The Russians produced some of the ugliest military vehicles because of this principal, but they worked for what they were designed for. Our ships aren't meant to be works of art. They're meant to reflect our utilitarian ideal of forced labor, effective construction methods, and modular design.

Gunboat got retextured, but remains the same model.

Cruiser got a new model in this style. Still looks like a Submarine, but less like a Thunderbird. I'm sure they'll post pictures of both when they're ready to.

I'm sure somebody mentioned it, but that definitively looks like a repainted dagger forcefully flattened by a compressor.

Sad...

Anyways, back on topic:

IMHO - it looks like the Order Bastet or Anubis got in love with a Dagger XD

Model wise - Great!

Texture Wise: Reminds me a lot of Starlancer - but it still knocks me out of my socks!

Short Answer: Put eet on deh game!
