Something many tend to forget about: Nomad thruster. It's also classified as nomad tech. In addition to weapons and brains there are thrusters and energy cells. If that was a gcorp character (bounty hunter destroyer) killed a while ago in Delta while being pursued by TBH battleship ("Velasco" if I remember correctly) it did have nomad weapons in hold. Matter of fact we would have let you go and attack your pursuer instead, but you choose to have those weapons and plead in system chat not to kill you? If that was your character of course, but judging by that pair of "battle razor" reference I assume it was you. Currently you are not on the hunt list, as matter of fact there is nobody on it yet, but few are getting dangerously close, it was found they were carrying over fifty nomad brains of various types and continuously returning to nomad systems to hunt more, to me it rings a bell, and if it keep goes on we'll hunt them beyond our systems, such activities we can "afford", but so far have refrained from using.

Here is the list of what is considered a "nomad cargo":
  • Nomad Energy Cell
  • Nomad Energy Blaster
  • Nomad Energy Cannon
  • Nomad Turret
  • Nomad Cruise Disruptor ammo (can possibly be looted by killing a Keeper character who uses Nomad Disruptor)
  • Nomad Thruster
  • Nomad Brain
  • Minor Nomad Brain
  • Superior Nomad Brain
Obviously includes nomad lasers and nomad disruptors too, but those are not publicly available anyway.

So we make full scan till we find at least one occurrence of aforementioned items or find none. If target opens fire while at it we will open fire in return. If target in visual range attack nomad NPCs we will do no scan and attack straight away. We can cruise disrupt to scan as well as we have to go through all equipment pages and some people have too many things with them. Some open fire straight away and we kill the target. We can scare off target as well by shooting out shield, however most unlikely that we will chase. Like said: traders are the least concern. Keepers is what I call a "terror police" faction, neither police nor terrorists but having elements of both entangled into behavior and roleplay with many self-restrictions in place in order to maintain their role properly within the Sirius. A fairly new concept in Discovery but it fits Nomads so well due to their wide spread across Omicron sector. Controversial in design but it has proven to work well within the environment and has certainly added extra edge of mystery and threat to "edge worlds", something I believe Discovery has been missing in there. For example Delta system hasn't been quite popular but has seen influx of players in there since the start of the faction, at one time half of server was in here, something that normally applied back at that time mostly to New York. So just don't think that you can run rampant around nomad systems on a destroyer or even battleship with or without nomad cargo, lack of nomads in cargo bay it does not make you untouchable on that kind of ship. Say what would RM do if Das Wilde fully armed cruiser suddenly appeared in Frankfurt, a threat so close to home? Those capital ships make us nervous when we see them, we go purple and blast them out (so many humans at one ship!), statistically they are priority and go down first too. A human fully armed capital ship is a threat, make no mistake. A trader battleship is a nonsense.

Read from the beginning of the topic.
They will attack you most prolly, but will not chase you if you start to run.\
At least i think.

Treewyrm Wrote:Systems & Bases

Here and then "Nomad Systems" means systems that are tagged as "NOMAD" in their description and/or inhabited by Nomad NPCs. In other words: area of influence, systems where Keepers hang around for all of the time. Here is the list of Nomad systems:

* Omicron Major (Dyson Sphere Outer Shell)
* Omicron Major (Dyson Sphere Inner Shell)
* Unknown (Nomad Hive)
* Omicron Minor (Toledo)
* Omicron-90 (Top Unknown)
* Omicron Kappa (Bottom Unknown)
* Omicron Delta
* Omicron Alpha (only in nebula near the jumphole)
* Omicron Gamma (only in asteroid field/nebula near the jumphole)
* Omicron Iota (Home system)
* Omicron-99 (Home system)
* Omicron-100 (Limited access)
* Alaska
* Tohoku

* Omicron Alpha (only in nebula near the jumphole)

We just fought. And i don't mind that. But it was in front of Malta, not in nebula.
Please, either stick to what you have written, or change it.
As i said, i don't mind you coming near Malta.
I was almost sure (when i saw you on radar, 12k away - and those 12k are not Nebula, really) that you will not attack.
But you came, attacked (i don't know if you attacked us instantly, as i ordered my men to engage you, couz your "unpredictable") and go away.
So, don't get me wrong, i'm not whining, i love fighting you blue skinned guys, but either edit your words, or respect them.
Thanks.

Exactly, it's just a list where we hang around typically, so that people know where usually to find us whether they are looking for fight or avoiding it. It's not a physical border, it's a zone of interest where regular patrolling goes around. Massive activity do attract our attention.

But you should 99% of the time only really operate in your ZoI and that isn't Malta.

About Keepers and Traders - Treewyrm - 12-27-2007

That's your opinion Equinox and where you got those 99% I have no idea.

About Keepers and Traders - chopper - 12-27-2007

Well, it says very clearly :

"* Omicron Alpha (only in nebula near the jumphole)"

And in the top of my quote, there is something else :

"In other words: area of influence, systems where Keepers hang around for all of the time."

So, planet Malta is out of your area of influence, correct?
And if it is correct, then, what stops you from attacking planet New London?
As i said, just edit it and make it more clear.
You don't have to justify your actions to me, but people will get confused, if they get attacked near Tripoli shipyard, or something alike.
Because, as it seems, you just came there to fight.
You didn't "hang around", you came from your Home system, as i remember.
And you came straight to Malta.
Massive activity attracted you from "few" Systems away, it seems.

And i forgot to say it there, so i'm saying it now.
It was a good fight, indeed.

From 99% of other factions respecting their ZOI?

So is it now ok for any faction to operate where they like? or is it just ok for nomads?

Because i no ive been told to move out of new York from an admin in a brotherhood char because its not in our ZoI (i was only there because the char was just made).

Its been pointed out many times Rogues and Xenos have to stick to there ZoI Liberty.

I think its a given that factions should stick to there ZoI most of the time or else you will get Molly's in Liberty, Hackers in new Tokyo and everything will be a total mess.

Im not being funny, im actually quite shocked at your response.
