A good idea, and I would like to see other things progress in the middle of versions as well.
It would be nice to see some "real-time" results from the other wars going on....as opposed to just having everything changed in the next version.

Personally, as long as you also allow Royal tech outside Gallia in those areas (In my case, a merc who has permission to use GRN stuff), I support this idea.
GRN board offers bounties on targets outside Gallia, and they already have Sirian mercs working for them, so it would look kinda silly if GRN themselves get to leave Gallia and raid Taus, but their Mercs still get stuck inside Gallia, only because of the tech chart limitation (No Gallic tech outside Gallia).
That was my thought, cause my Royal merc char is the only thing about Gallia that concerns me.
