From the back of the room, a Legionnaire stepped forward...

He made a gesture at Ramirez.

Monsieur, I will answer this question. My name is Paul du Champ, and I am responisble for any kind of commerce....

He takes a seat at the table.

You see, le Cardamine is not the first "drug" that we deal with. The Legion has a robust network of dealers, everywhere in Gallia. On every base, every city, every club, anywhere people are prone to consume substances like these. Rarely someone manages a quicker deal than we do. It requires enourmous manpower, an efficient distribution structure and the right skills. Skills that have been perfectionned in over 700 years of Brigands' existence. How else do you think we own over ninety percent of the Gallic Black market? A market so vast as all of the Sirian houses combined.

He takes a sharper look at Ramirez.

Every good has it's own methods. Especially Cardamine has very efficient methods. Aside from the usual negotiations at social events or in everyday life, there are other, more efficient alternatives. An example would be to inject the substance into ventilation systems, that are basically everywhere where large crowds of people are located. As you have said, the fact that cardamine increases certain limits of the human body is something that basically everyone strives for - and with the right dealing technique that we possess - I can assure you that. when the Core Worlds are opened, Cardamine will have reached the majority of the population in a matter of a few months, or even weeks.

Mia sat herself down right next to Enzo as he said that. She listend carefully.

"Oui.And the Corse will help only with transporting the drug.So if you think you can make us addicted, too, you will fail. This shall be no offence,I just make the point clear. For us the smuggling will be easier as for the Legion,as the Crown doesn't see us as that big threat and we know how to pay the right people to look away in certain situations. But as that won't be easy or cheap, the Corse will name a price for which we will do it."

Mia added to the words of Enzo. Then she waited for an reply.

  • Ramirez scoughs at the woman's comment..

"You make it sound as if the Cardamine is a venom, and you ask for payments to transport the drug in Gallia, while it can make you wealthier then before. The drug cardamine is the final and ultimate drug, it's beneficial side effects far out-wages it's negative ones. Then again, I speak off it cause I know it, very well..", he sighs as he ends his speech.

"If the Unione Corse wants to get payed for transporting the product then it's their decision.. Really, it is.. I'd pay you to transport it.. Really, I would.. The question isn't transportation, it's distribution.. And the Legion does seam to believe they can do that.. So you two working together may solve allot of issues, yes?", Ramirez chuckles a little as he takes a sip from his glass.

Mergotti smirked slightly. How amusing. But this topic was now moot.

"Clearly there is some basis for cooperation. While Cardamine has not been used by Gallia at large, it could easily supersede any similar chemicals and essentially take over their existing distribution networks, which, I'm sure, our Gallic friends are very much involved in. All that remains to be seen is the results of their efforts."

He leaned forward slightly and clasped his hands together on the desk.

"And in any case, should problems arise, we already have the expertise to adapt to unforeseen circumstances should they occur. I believe we should press on to different matters. Perhaps what our Gallic friends want in return?"

Enzo smirked lightly. Paul has done his job well, like always. He gave him the sign to stand back, Enzo will talk to Mergotti.

Alors, monsieur Mergotti, this is a very good question.
The Maltese Nation would have much that is interesting to the Legion.....

He put on a more serious look on his face.

It is no secret that Maltese technology is a very advanced one. Technology that the Legion could use against anything, and for anything. Specifically, your Sabre Very Heavy Fighters for the start. I would not want to admit it, but the lack of high technology fighters is limiting the Legion's power. There is other technology that we are interested in, but it is not as necessary as those fighters at the moment.

The other problem is that, with the Core Worlds almost non-accessible, the Legion has no access to capital shipcards of its own. Which is problematic, because without a strong capital fleet, all Brigand bases are in the serious risk of being obliterated by naval fleets. So, in order to build capital class vessels of it's own, the Legion needs a shipyard that is well protected, and well hidden too.

I am sure you can provide us that.

He put one hand on the table, looking around the room...

- "Yes, I've already thought of that." Said a voice from within the crowd huddled around the table. "You are aware of the system known as Omicron 80, hmm? Well, located within that system is an old shipyard which we had originally planned on scrapping, but since we heard of your interest in such a thing we took it upon ourselves to restore it to a... functional... condition and placed it in a location which would be near your main zone of interest. Add the fact that Omicron 80 is well-protected by the Maltese Navy and you ought to have everything you could ever want. Two things though: Our personnel won't be manning the station, you have to use your own men... and the database will contain no Maltese technology to begin with."

Fonder l'empire - sable - 06-23-2011

Enzo, looked into the crowd, but couldn't identify the person who just spoke to him...

Oui. This is exactly what we need now. It should be more than enough for now.
The Legion gladly accepts this shipyard, and accepts all other terms concerning it.

He leaned back a bit, taking a look at Mergotti and some other Maltese.

Messieurs, how about the vessels I just asked you about?

Enzo LaFrank begun to overcome his terrible hangover and the desire puke and diplomatically put crossed his hands.

"Allow me to speak on behalf of my faction, since my....our Don apparently has some important matters to attend to. From what I gather the Legion will be doing mostly the transporting stuff...Well as you might or might not be aware the Unione Corse are not the most numerous group in Gallia but we do have an influence even within factions that fire at the Legion first and ask question later. If the Cardamine, if that what you call it reaches Gallia through the means of the legion our network of "agents" can spread it to small time dealers on planets and stations. We are well aware that even though the qualities sold in the beginning will be minuscule we have a saying; "The tiniest stones roll over the carriage". However we will also need some means of protecting our agents and sadly we do not posses the necessary equipment to do so. Even though our pilots are skilled our armoury is somewhat limited. I would like to request access to the bases the legion will have access to and some weapon blue prints, which weapons exactly could be specified in the future, at this point we do not require additional vehicles as we believe we posses excellent ones. It is my belief that what I am saying is reasonable as spreading this new commodity to a market unfamiliar with it is no small task, please feel free to comment upon my words"

The old senator listened keenly at the questions and responses from the table. And with one quick move of his hand, the eyes of everyone were drawn to him.

"Excuse me for interrupting.. I do have one small question to ask to you, Senor Du Sable."

A small grin appeared on his lips.

Fonder l'empire - sable - 06-29-2011

Enzo turned his head to the old senator.

Bien sur, monsieur. What do you wish to ask me?

He leaned back, waiting for his reply.
