I'd suggest following the design of the Spatial. Not necesarly the weird side wall, but the cockpit and engine configuration is original. A line of such ships might do just fine in looking freelancerish. Bulky, yet slightly curvy in some place. Kinda FL style.

ok here is most of the request - hf finetuning it...
i kind of cooked the history up since i only found out that its rheinland originated, most of the IMG are bretonians and in 702 labourers from rheinland joined them.

Independent Miners Guilde


History

The Independent Miners Guild was foundet by rheinlandish labourers who felt systematicly exploited by Kruger and Daumann and founded a guild to fallow their profession freely. Being a small and poor group of workers, not capable of defending its miningrounds in the new, and for most parts unexplored, solarsystems of the Omegas, the IMG got threatened and expelled by the securety wings of Rheinlands cooperations.
Forced to leave homespace, they settled in bretonian space. Not accepted but tollerated, they managed to keep their independence and even grew constantly as disapointed, unemployed or even abused labourers of the bretonian cooperations joined the miners guild for decades and centuries. Only the old names of administrative constitutions reminded of the rheinlandish origin until the year of 702 A.S.. Due to the economic crisis after the 80-Years-War, masses of unemployed workers form rheinland joined the IMG.


Objectives and Characteristics

The IMG openly donounces the exploitation of bretonian labourers as it always did. However, being idependent is the most important characteristic of the guilde. For that reason it does not participate in local politics.
Sharing all goods and belongings with fellow miners and maintain the personal freedom of every individual is and has allways been the most important difference beween "us" and "them". even the Konsul him self does'nt enjoy any more comfort than any other member of the guilde.
To spread this philosophy, we formed an allience with our rheinlandish brothers of the [insert that trash-cooperation here], to enlarge our influence on a sirius-wide level, showing every worker anywhere the choice between being independent or exploited. WE are the alternative!

Apart from our long run targets, we are seriously concerned about the war between Kusari and Bretonia. The result of battles and political tensions so far, are nothing less but 148 (!) dead independent miners. Even though we are neutral to the conflict it self, our base "Holman" is currently located on the Kusari-sided frontline and often takes fire during the battles. Rumors of bretonian admirals who would like to see us dead and other signs of tensions rising beween us and bretonia are horrifying but on a logical base not surprising.
So our mainobjective must be the nagotiation of a peace treaty between the two fighing houses. At least, we have to convince bretonia of our neutral nature to this war. We could never stand a chance in an open conflict versus Bretonia and also cant afford to loose our bretonian bases and main recruitment zones.
Its regarded as an obligation, however, to prevent further damage and casulties by guarding our brothers of the Holman outpost, as an evacuation - so a abandonment of the station - is out of question.

On a further note, we are supporting the war of our fellow allies of the colonial remnant against the union of god by shipping supplies. Unfortunately we cant affort to spare any securety personnel for issues of foreign relations as we have to be en guard in Tau 31. But when the war is over, we will stand by the side of our allies with all muscles we have!

The Counsul works out programms and laws which have to be affirmed by the Council of the Independent Guilde. No Commissioners is superiour to an other.

Zone of Influence And Trading Policys

Every System containing an IMG Base is regardet as our Zone of Influence.
The only task of the Trading Wing is to sell surplus goods and in some cases purchase other goods on the way back to our stations if needed. Goods we Trade are e.g. minerals (like silver, copper, gold) and liquids/gases we mine (like water and oxygen). Other goods produced by our independent society like pharma or consumer goods are common commodities.
