Are we still talking about posting a new request or just a feedback subforum?

Official Faction Spring Cleaning - Reverend Del - 04-05-2008

I think the first time it should be a request, with the threat of status removal, thereafter it's just a matter of keeping up to date with the feedback and keeping on top of your faction, more a continual thing the more I think about it. It would change nothing about they way that the Keeper's feedback works excpet to consolidate it in one place, and the other factions would have somewhere to see what the community thought of their ongoing activities, but always with the overall goal of improving the integration between faction and community.

In theory great

In practice, I don't have time for it

Then delegate it to someone that does, each and every faction member should be aware of the RP behind their clan, there will always be someone within any faction that can take the time to ensure their faction is up to scratch.

Heh, it is as if the factions aren't parts of the community. Just as their members are part of the community so is are the factions. And here we come closer to the point of the mechanics. Public tribune can be just as constructive discussion as it can be a tool of leverage. As I've seen both myself I'd like to know how you think it should be dealt with?

Official Faction Spring Cleaning - Reverend Del - 04-05-2008

I'd like you to clarify that point, if you will, I think I may have lost some of your meaning.

However regarding factions being a part of the community, you are right each and every faction is as equal a part of this community as any member, which is why they should be visible and open about how they work and how they seek to deal with that community.

So what you propose is, any official faction to apply to the RP factions section with a thread of their own, which would serve as a revision and feedback?

Or possibly a dedicated subforum, but yes essentially, only that there official status is not under question, at least so far, if such a thing were to happen it would be due to the faction not meeting the current high standards set by the admins for any new faction proposal. I would also suggest waiving the 500 million bond on such a thread if it were to go into the Faction Creation subforum.

As I've told before on a previous page, it also comes not only to suggestions, ideas but also to forum politics, some parties seeking advantage, forms of leverage, favoritism as well. Do you think that every single person participating in such discussions will be talking objectively and out of good intentions for the benefit of the community and past behind personal matter of taste? Are you sure this is how its going to work? I beg to differ here. If theory to work it has to take considerations of the human nature into for practical implementation to be closer to the original idea and intent. It is of course nice to think that everyone will play nice and constructive, but reality isn't like that, as sanction section would be a nice example.

Talks about high standard are nice and all, but let's not forget - we all have quite different ideals in our heads, not necessarily the same as your neighbors would think. And even smallest details can rise up to holy wars as to what is higher and right what is not.

For now I think it's a good idea in theory, however I can see it stumbling upon reality in not a good way. I'd say more thought needed for something like that, and a lot more if it aims to be mandatory. As so far I've only heard of what can happen if a faction fails to conform, but I haven't seen much of the way it works, and said "rules of engagement", which no doubt are tricky here.

If this was to happen in any way, it should go to another subforum, as RP factions section is already loaded enough. Don't see anything wrong with the idea at all since feedback and revision are always essential.
