What IF!..

Any nomad cloaks, moduels etc, ran off of a derelict cell? I havent looked into the cargo destruction percentages but the posability of them to be destroyed could be turned up?

What IF! (again)

The power cell could be 'recharged' by chilling next to a star for awhile, it seems like it would have an INCREDIBLY slow recharge rate, because, you, know, every system has a star making recharging effortless.

Another flash of brilliance, how about to recharge via solar power you had to be inside the highly radioactive sphere surrounding the star. So effectively you would sacrifice hull for cloak/jump abilities.

Not really a flash of briliance as it would make those cloaks quite underpowered compared to DERIVED human cloaks that can use about 5 different fuels so they can be refilled anywhere. We are trying for BALANCED, albeit differently balanced, tech.

Nomad cloaks don't need fuel. It's simply unnecessary.

As for jump drives, perhaps a star-based solution? Give them the ability to jump, but only to stars. Star(x)+random(40000)-20000, (random(2)-0.5)*200000, Star(y)+random(40000)-20000. Random either above or below the star by 100k, then random up to 20k east/west and random up to 20k north/south. Using square calculations instead of circular calculations saves on server load, and it doesn't really matter in this context since even at 20000,-100000,20000 relative to the star you're only 103k off.

Do how about we use the recharging cell idea for inaccurate jump drives like Puv suggested. Then the cloaks are unlimited balanced by long warm up time. Does that kind of sense and is kind of balanced? Though right now I agree with Huggie that nomads need to be scary, even if it's psychological fear rather than 'IMA CHARGIN MA LAZOR' but anyway noms need something to really show their alien.
