SF Message Dump - Firebird - 03-11-2007 Transmit to: SFBS-Sierra, SF Personnel Comm ID: Admiral Firebird With regards to negotiations with the Brotherhood, given that Omicron Gamma is a Corsair system and is hostile to us by nature, in nearly all cases we're only passing through to proceed to the Unknown anyways. Unhindered makes no difference since the Corsairs will hinder us anyways. Thus, I'm not sure what the SF obtain from that part of the agreement. Meanwhile, the Brotherhood would be given passage through Bretonia and given their nature would attack traders in neighboring systems, leaving us with the blame for allowing them passage. Even in our previous agreement with the Corsairs, they were never given permission to enter Bretonian space and our limited access to their stations came about as result of supplying them with food and assisting in defending their stations from the nomads CRI/Corsair Agreement (No Longer in Effect). At the moment, unless the Brotherhood can find some alternate method of funding besides pirating then I would say an agreement allowing them access to more traders is unlikely. In addition, Captain Brackenbury with your continued service to the SF and displayed competence in command, I would also like to offer you a promotion to the rank of Commodore. Means more paper work but I think you've justifiably earned the position. Your thoughts...Commodore? End of Transmission Transmit to: SF Personnel Comm ID: Admiral Firebird Also after discussing with a bunch of Beta squadron, came upon the idea of adding the limitation that Lieutenants must have at least 1 character green with the BAF guard. I like the idea given that by the time a player gets a guard rep they're familar with how things work, also makes the rank feel more earned. In addition, voiced the idea of making the Knights and Beta Squadrons for Lieutenants only. Again like the idea as a reward. Further arguements for/against are welcomed. These requirements would only apply to new changes/recruits...in other words if you're in Beta/Knights or a Lieutenant+ already and have no chars with green BAF guard rep no problem for now but work to fix. End of Transmission SF Message Dump - Hyperwave22 - 03-11-2007 Transmit to: Admiral Firebird Comm ID: Captain Hyperwave The terms with the Brotherhood were meant to be mostly temporary, as they were invading space. The idea came about because they claimed that we were attacking and destroying Corsairs in Omicron Gamma, although I figured it may be very difficult to pass through to the Unkowns with the Brotherhood in Gamma, and AW in Theta. It would have assured us that we can still pass through safely. In the idea of them being able to move into Bretonian space, the point taken; I concede that this would stem major complications throughout the Sirius Sector and allies. As for the pirates, I doubt that they will try to attack them in Bretonia, but I think we need to set up some form of more regular patrol in order to protect the traders that assist in our economy. Finally, I humbly accept the promotion to Commodore. Captain Hyperwave out... SF Message Dump - Koolmo - 03-11-2007 Transmit to: SF Command Comm ID: Beta4 Wahoo! Long Live the New Commodore! Drinks all round, and your hosting this time, Sir! Party on the Sierra! Now, where is that... Transmission Ended SF Message Dump - Firebird - 03-11-2007 Transmit to: SF Personnel Comm ID: SFBS-Magnificent Status Report: Several encounters with Brotherhood vessels in Cambridge. First encounter was a cruiser which quickly opened fire. Shields absorbed the incoming fire with minor effects. The Magnificent then returned its own destroying the cruiser. Subsequent encounters were with 3 brotherhood titans (same player, Shimano, 3 times) two of which were destroyed and the 3rd withdrawn to Gamma. In response to the attacks the Magnificent performed an extended blockade at the Omega-5 jump-hole collecting a multitude of corsair pilots, and cutting off the majority of corsair ships passing through to deliver cargo to Cadiz. The pilots are currently being held in a secure location on Cambridge for the moment. Transmission Ended (gf with the cruiser, stuck playing search and destroy with the fighter) SF Message Dump - Ant - 03-11-2007 Transmit to: All SF personnel Comm ID: Lieutenant Harris, SFFG Exeter Nomads vaporised in Unknown. Request from SFB Beta3 saw the Exeter running supplies for our new bomber squadron from Rheinland space. Spare ships and repair parts have been stocked up. With any luck, we'll have a factory maintaining them and producing replacement ships soon. Exeter returned to Unknown sector and vaporised more Nomad vessels with the assistance of SFB Beta5 and SFGB Tempest. Oh, and congratulations Commodore. End of Transmission Transmit to: All SF personnel Comm ID: Lt Hunt, SFB Beta3 Rogue tagged Corsair gunboat and Rheinland bomber engaged in Dublin after the bomber opened fire on SFB Beta4. Bomber was destroyed. I disengaged and docked at Essex after Beta4 experienced technical difficulties. Minor damage was sustained. End of Transmission SF Message Dump - Ant - 03-12-2007 Transmit to: All SF personnel Comm ID: Lieutenant Flint, SFBS York SFB Beta3 came under attack by [HF]Flame(fighter) whilst passing through the California system. The pilot of SFB Beta3 called for assistance and [SA]Redbear and an additional SA fighter responded in coming to the aid of the beleaguered bomber near Planet Mojave. Before support could arrive, the Outcast Dreadnaught [AW]Luciaden showed up and engaged SFB Beta3. [SA]Redbear was able to join the fight and [AW]Luciaden withdrew from the area of combat. [HF]Flame also disengaged from combat, so SFB Beta3 was able to dock and request heavy assistance. SFBS York responded to the call for help and joined [SA]Redbear as the Assault Frigate hunted the invaders. [AW]Luciaden was engaged near Planet Mojave and sustained minor damage before escaping into cruise towards California Minor. An additional Hellfire Legion bomber and Albatross Frigate attacked us as we knocked out [AW]Luciaden. The Outcast dreadnaught managed to undergo rapid repairs and attacked SFBS York while the Albatross frigate was in the process of being damaged. We managed to fight a defensive battle for several minutes before sustained hits began causing major damage. Cruise was engaged in order to regroup and mount a counterattack. [AW]Luciaden escaped from the vicinity of California Minor and we disengaged from combat. In addition a cargo item labelled "List of double agents" along with several Liberty naval and civilian pilots were recovered from [AW]Luciaden when the ship was damaged. Requesting instructions on how to proceed with this item. End of Transmission (OOC: Good fight) SF Message Dump - Ant - 03-13-2007 Transmit to: All SF personnel Comm ID: Lieutenant Harris, SFFG Exeter Received message from FEAR ships that pirate Black_beard was causing problems in Omega sectors. Exeter mobilised in response. Pirate gunboat vaporised. Exeter returned to station in Unknown sector. Nomad ships vaporised. End of Transmission (OOC: Black_Beard seems to be unsure over the 3 deaths rule. Seems to like coming back for more. Not clear on the rule myself as there seems to be some confusion over whether you can keep attacking after being taken out 3 times.) SF Message Dump - BestFlyerHere - 03-13-2007 Transmit To: SF personnel Comm ID: Trainee Mark Kaine After that huge (history) after-action report, I'm finally back for duty. I shall be commencing patrols between Cambridge-New london-Leeds-Manchester and back. I will also attack any Brotherhood on sight. Awaiting orders, Kaine out. Transmission Ended Could someone help me with a loadout for my Templar? All I have is a CM dropper and a cutter mine. What's a good RP loadout for a SF char? SF Message Dump - Firebird - 03-13-2007 Transmit To: SF personnel Comm ID: Trainee Mark Kaine With regards to the Brotherhood, they're hostile not KOS (piracy versus terrorism). You may ask them to leave Bretonian space and if they do not comply then open fire but their actions have not yet warranted a KOS status. As for orders, follow those assigned to your Battlegroup or work on obtaining a friendly BAF Guard Rep. Bretonian Guard - Patrolling Cambridge/New London (assistance to Excaliber when required) Liberty Guard - Patrolling Manchester/New London (assistance to Liberty/Stormpike when required) Excaliber - Patrolling Unknown/Omega/Cambridge (Nomad Hunting, Trader Defense) Stormpike - Defense Leeds/Tau-31/Edinburgh/Dublin (Defend against Kusari) Transmission Ended *****OOC***** Quote:Could someone help me with a loadout for my Templar? All I have is a CM dropper and a cutter mine. What's a good RP loadout for a SF char? RP-wise having Bretonian weapons is great, the other thing with the SF is in RP can use nomad weapons since considered engineered based on nomad technology gathered by CRI. But there are no restrictions on weps for the SF, anything that can be bought, bartered, or stolen for weps can be used. Keep in mind using non-standard weps does have the disadvantage that when lost you're forced to either get a new ship (suicide) or re-obtain the wep. Quote:Not clear on the rule myself as there seems to be some confusion over whether you can keep attacking after being taken out 3 times. After dying 3 times my impression and assumption would be the fight would end for that player, particularly in group play. Thus, in order to continue beyond 3 deaths, it would have to be discussed and agreed upon (either before or after). 1-1 you obviously have the most leeway since easy to discuss things. So in the case of Black_Beard, if next time you kill him 3 times, you can tell him to either get out ("k that's 3, enough...get out") or discuss with him if you want to continue ("You've died 3 times but do you want to go again anyways?"). The choice to continue though should belong to the victor. The choice to continue though should belong to the victor.I think the question is over how the "get out" thing works. Do they go and plunder another system? What if they only have one character? We had a bit of a discussion and I mentioned several times that reading the rules might help. He said he was off to New London to Pirate more stuff. I picked the ignore option. I.E. Go and do what you want, I'm off somewhere else. Does this point about 3 deaths need to be addressed elsewhere? |
