Been looking at what you make, I have to say that you are doing real good 
The thing you wrote somewhere , that you use a lot of lights is true in some cases, but that's your style and that makes your work different from others A suggestion if I may, I've notices you are using renders posted on discovery Wiki I think ( correct me if I'm wrong. ) , schlurbi made an awsome and easy to do rendering tutorial, I think you should try that, cause you'd be surprised what a render from a different angle can do to a sign

You notice correctly, they have mostly, if not all been taken from the Wiki. I couldn't find that thread myself so thank you, I'll be sure to give it a look.
