Messieurs, mesdames,

My report will be short : I have completed a mostly uneventful patrol in the Dublin system, while searching for traces of Bretonian activity. There's been traces of increased commercial traffic going to and from this system, a matter that needs to be investigated given the imminent fall of the Bretonian government.

While I found no evidence of such increased traffic, I stumbled upon a rather perplexing scene : a Bretonian Mining and Manufacturing freighter was busy filling the hold of... An autonomous Serenity transport (Cargo, ID) which presented itself as a cyborg. Unsure of what should be made of this rather intriguing display, I ordered the pair to stop and explain themselves. The resulting response was polite and courteous but... It would appear the autonomous vessel is part of a sentient group of similar entities (?) that broke free from their native collective (?!), went on to become bartenders (?!!) before being liberated by a female Sirian Junker (?!!!)... For a purpose I didn't quite absorb. I will let Fleet Intelligence sort this out - I've attached the complete audio logs of this "conversation".

As per procedure, I demanded to know where the mined gold would be carried off. I was replied that it would be delivered to the Omega 49 system, populated by the Zoner tribe. I escorted the Serenity transport there while trying to decipher its story, with a measure of success. I can confirm the goods didn't fall in Bretonian hands and were taken to the Nichols trading center, orbiting the planet Gran Canaria. I docked with the station to make sure it was owned by Zoner interests, and while there, picked up a most peculiar piece of technology that I brought back for studying.

This has been a strange day. I'm not sure what conclusions can be drawn from this, but it appears this AI collective does not consider us a threat, a rare thing among the natives, and should be willing to cooperate with us should the need arise : they've stated, specifically, that their... liberator... does not care for Bretonian officials, something we could exploit. Their collaboration with the BMM should, however, be investigated.

This concludes my report of today's events.

We've got work to do. And by "we", I of course mean "you". So focus, this might the occasion to prove that there's a reason we're paying you these outrageous salaries !
Right, here's what's happening : our analysts in traffic control have come up with clear signals of a redundant trend in Bretonian traffic. Ah, it appears we've already lost Moreau ? No ? Good. Being the gentle, understanding soul that I am, I have prepared a visual aide that should help those among you suffering from low attention spans. If I could direct your attention to the board for one moment...

He motions to the board behind him, which comes to life with a low hum as the lights dim.

This is a map displaying the latest traffic obtained through simple signals intelligence work. It has a particularity : what you see here is limited to civilian craft of a sizeable tonnage - think heavy transports. Their signatures are telltale, especially when compared to military platforms or single-seat chassis. As you can see on the evidently colour-coded traffic lines, there is outstanding activity on the way between Dublin and Cambridge. From what we can gather, it's not one-way : someone is making trips between those systems. A lot of trips - according to our analysts, this has been going for at least a week and is showing no sign of slowing down. Interestingly, it started not long after our offer of armistice was put forth - and turned down.

He turns back to the briefing room as the board switches off and the lights revert to normal.

This has us concerned, pilots. The Bretonian nest has been kicked, and hornets are flying everywhere, more angrily than ever before. Something is happening, and that something can't be a mere upturn in commercial traffic. This dramatic increase in traffic is most certainly tied to strategic interests relevant to the Bretonians - and as such, relevant to us. Whatever it is, I want you and your squadrons to find it out, and if it is a threat to us, put an abrupt and decisive stop to it. It could merely be civilian evacuation, the relocation of the Cambridge population to the more remote Dublin system... But that theory is not widely shared among Fleet Intelligence. That's where you come in.

Here are your mission objectives.
1°) Track down and identify any Bretonian heavy transport at any point on the route from Dublin to Cambridge.
2°) Apprehend the transport. Verify the contents of its hold. Civilians and casualties are to be left alone. Anything else will be confiscated or destroyed, as the situation dictates.
3°) Interrogate the crew. The line of questioning is thus : What were your orders ? Under whose authority did you undertake this mission ? Where were you delivering your cargo ? What is the endgame of Bretonia in this operation ? You are authorised to improvise with your questioning, the key is to secure every possible piece of this puzzle.
4°) Once your patrol is over, report your findings. Top priorities are : the nature of the cargo, and the existence (or not) of a concerted logistical effort on the Bretonians' part.

Mission parameters are as follows.
- Should the crew be cooperative, release them. Extortion is permitted.
- In case of failure to cooperate, make an example. The Bretonians must know they are not home anymore, anywhere. Their logistical operations cannot be allowed to continue with such impunity.
- Should you spot enemy responders on their way, make an example of the transport and clear out, ONLY if you can safely retreat in time, or you feel you can handle the situation by yourself. This is not a combat patrol : you will be operating deep behind enemy lines, with the need to surprise your targets. This will call for discretion.
- Once your objective is complete, Gallic taunting is, as always, recommended.

Now, for the part you're all waiting for : we know it's Noël soon. We've obtained extra budget to help motivate your pilots : every report submitted that will shed some light on this trend will be rewarded with a bonus of ten million gallic francs, with an extra five millions if the cargo was seized, destroyed or if the transport was put out of commission. Be advised that shooting down a transport full of civilians will, however, only earn you time in the brig.

Bonjour,

during today's raid in the system of California, 'Nova' torpedoes have refused to track the marked target. I had to perform a deep diving bombing. One Libertorian cruiser have received a critical hit by my torpedo. Soon after that I've lost my bomber to my own topedo during another attempt of dive bombing. Battareys did not manage to recharge my shield in time so it was a catastrophe.

I request our engineers to replace torpedo launcher with an antimatter cannon on the coming replacement of my old bomber.

Situation:


I started this patrol alongside Monsieur de Justeton. We encountered a small wing of Bretonian Armed Forces in one of the clouds south west of planet Leeds. All three of them fell pretty quickly to me and Monsieur de Justeton. During the fight I realized I still had some of the 'presents' from the core loaded on the ship. After we returned to Leeds I met with one of our Valors, the MRG|RNS-Lille and transfered the cargo over.

We then proceeded to patrol the system just to find enemy capital vessels. Monsieur de Justeton moved back to assemble gather reinforcements to deal with the caps. During the fight more and more enemies arrived and we eventually ended up in New London. At some point they stopped sending forces against us and we dealt with the remaining ones. During the fight we only suffered minimal losses. One of our capital vessels was destroyed as well as two of our fighters.

Bonjour,

so today, during the fights in Magellan we have faced a new enemy heavy asset model. This ship, as many other Crayter ships, is apparently aiming to hit us exclusively with it's looks. Hell, that thing is ugly and it's the biggest CR vessel I've ever encountered. Naturally in the end it was exploding, along with few other Libertorian capitals.

God and King save us from the Crayter design bureaus.

Topic: Examination of Southampton

Today I was tasked with surveying and charting the mess that is the Southampton debris field in the New London system and I believe I have come up with three possible plans for when our assault happens as well as a detailed account of what we may expect in terms of resistance.

As can be seen, this plan involves passing Battleship Castres before exiting the debris field from the south and swinging around to attack the shipyard's southern flank. This plan has the added advantage of being in a position to cut of or delay any reinforcing BAF assets that may come from New London.

The second plan is very much like the first only it allows our fleet to exit the debris field far quicker, and thus prepare our order of battle more quickly. The disadvantage of this plan of course is the long travel time it would take to assault the shipyard's northern flank, thus we may very well loose the element of surprise.

The third and final plan is the most complex, involving a pincer movement that would (in theory) strike both flanks at the same time. There are several risks to this plan however, firstly it does involve splitting the fleet, something that no one here would do lightly, if the Bretonians found out they would be able to destroy one section entirely. Secondly, the distance to travel is long, and without the debris, the closer we get the more likely it is they will detect us, again surprise may be lost.

I am aware some of you may now be asking why we do not simply just storm the gates of hell and take our chances, to answer that I would ask you direct your attention to the final figure.

This figure shows the location of an irritating little base that is quite hostile to the MRG, it's weapons will open fire and while they will miss our nimble fighter ships, the heavy capital classes will be hit, with minimal damage I grant you. Then there is the issue of a rather large radiation zone that covers the larger portion of the field. Finally, Southampton's defences are designed for a head-on assault, not flanking attacks. I would ask you to examine the images below.

One can see that a flanking maneuver would be better to bypass their defences. However, this concludes my report on the matter, and I will leave these documents in your capable hands.
