Id think something technologically FAR SUPERIOR to us in 2009 would probably use such things to greater effect then we do. Non-missilespam dogfights ended in WW2, as a matter of fact most other dogfighting MMO's missiles are pretty dominate there too, it just makes sense. Ever seen that old game Space Cowboy, thats now called Air Rivals, probably the biggest Dogfight mmo played right now, Missiles everywhere and its probably ten times harder to dodge them. Usually the tactic is to out manuever them and find yourself in the position to start missle spamming yourself. It sort if the great equalizer in gaming as well, considering a lot of players dont have perfect connections, and would find trying to shoot someone with anything but a missile very difficult since their targeting reticle is almost always inaccurate. Now get Lagging-Player-0001 at the recieveing end. He will start shouting "What the hell? i dropped the CMs AND CDed the missile, why is my hull melting?" Missiles are quite fine right now if you ask me. (If you ask me, get the Bombers a few more CMs, sometimes its causing you to turn tail, since you cant evade every missile with a sharp turn, but thats another topic;)) And Yes I am in a vanilla fighter:D Yours Malexa Missiles - MarvinCZ - 01-21-2009 @CliffG: You might have noticed not everything in FL is "realistic". But if you want... I would guess, that in the age of Laser/Neutron/Particle/whatever weapons, missiles are quite obsolete. Don't mistake current 'guns' with our high-tech FL weaponry. Disco missiles have great tracking. What makes them track worse is the lag.
