Apology to the Zoner Players - Spear - 08-13-2009 ' Wrote:Y'know what my solution would be to this. I had the same thought but I lack motivation, all other arguments aside, it was bounty, like the LH blanket Bounty on all BHG in Liberty. Total over reaction to a bounty post and hate PM's to Zeltak? What the hell is that about? Shameful. Apology to the Zoner Players - DAnvilFan - 08-13-2009 ' Wrote:That's exactly what we did, regarding political pressure. The QCP gave the Zoners a taste of their own meds. Being attacked by people launching from neutral places. Are you saying this from the perspective of the characters or as a player? To answer you RP-wise: Most Zoners absolutely loathe it when Corsairs or anybody uses their bases to lunch attacks. It's considered abuse of Freeports and such individuals are persued all the time. The Zoners Consortium, for example, tries to uphold this law whenever they see it broken. To answer you as a player: You cannot expect for Zoners, a faction that has existed since Freelancer was released in 2003 or whatever, to suddenly change. This is embedded roleplay. There are aspects that players can change in-game and then there are aspects that are just beyond our control. You can't make Freeports NOT free especially because we're not the Dungeon Masters here. This is what I mean by roleplay that can go too far. Every character can concievibly persue any roleplay path he wants. But the player also needs to consider that some RP ideas, especially when they're not addressed out of character first, can really turn things upside down. And embedded roleplay CAN change. Apparently Zoners are a mighty empire now, as opposed to a few thousand squatters like in vanilla. Now they have fleets and planets. Yeah, embedded roleplay can't change... right. Apology to the Zoner Players - Linkus - 08-13-2009 The point about being able to roleplay with other people is that you BOTH change and adapt to what the other does. IE, I attack you, you shoot back. Recently the Hessians etc broke their alliance with the Outcasts and are now at war with the RoS. There was embedded roleplay of the Hessians being Outcast Allies since 2003. That changed. A simple solution to this would be to ignore the damn bounty and kill anyone who doesn't. THAT is what the Zoners would do in reality. Apology to the Zoner Players - William Frederick Cody - 08-13-2009 ' Wrote:And embedded roleplay CAN change. Please try to change the outcats <-> corsair relationship into neutral, similar case as changing Zoners neutral status. Both things are bad ideas. Apology to the Zoner Players - Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever - 08-13-2009 Thats what Ive been doing, anyways... I just like to point out hypocrisy when it comes along in RP threads, and OORP threads too... Canon RP CAN change, about the few thousand settler thing said earlier, Its called manifest destiny, Everyone does it. Liberty has a billion more systems, Bretonia got chester newcastle and dundee, Zoners got a zillion new bases... Isnt that the point of modding, to expand cannon and/or change it? Apology to the Zoner Players - DAnvilFan - 08-13-2009 Also while you're at it, make Nomads love all humans and hold hands with them. Apology to the Zoner Players - Magoo! - 08-13-2009 Technically the humans would be holding tentacle... Apology to the Zoner Players - Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever - 08-13-2009 Well, you know, embedded roleplay like the Corsairs/Outcast war cannot change, but minor things can... same with the nomads, Isnt it common sense? Apology to the Zoner Players - bluntpencil2001 - 08-13-2009 It's common sense to not treat those that harbour your enemies as neutral.;) |
