Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - Sava - 12-02-2011 Eagle is much weaker than actually most faction ships, even if its flown by someone who knows how to use turning advantage. I dunno why is max turning speed was nerfed from vanilla value, it would fit it just perfect. However VHF line is seemed much better balanced than LF. Sabre  Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - Rapur - 12-27-2011 The Chimaera razor/cd hardpoint feels kinda awkward compared to other VHFs. Also, it doesn't fire from certain angles. Any chance it's getting fixed in 4.86? Also Looking at the posts above me: Eagle needs its vanilla hitpoints back (9900). Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - mjolnir - 12-28-2011 ' Wrote:The Chimaera razor/cd hardpoint feels kinda awkward compared to other VHFs. Also, it doesn't fire from certain angles. Yes the Chimaera torp hardpoint had a bit wrong orientation (tilted downwards) which was fixed. At the same time the Blood Dragon (Katana) torp hardpoint was upside-down. Now they are both the same with right orientation. For the first beta eagle will stay the same, might get some changes depending on how the auto-adjust plugin will work and how it will be set-up. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- @ DirtyM3xic4n/Sina As some people might know you were invited to give your opinion, test new things and propose changes... claiming you'd be able to do it quickly, perfectly, completely etc etc. You gave up and ran away before doing just about anything. Coming with constructive "everything is ruined" type of feedback is, off course, much easier. Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - Aingar - 12-28-2011 About the eagles, I know a guy that is virtually unbeatable in an eagle 1v1. Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - Fat.Igor - 12-28-2011 ' Wrote:@ DirtyM3xic4n/Sinaa) Im not Sina b) I left because you never listened to anything I suggested because you had your own theories (like the one where you said Guardian is like Katana). You remember when I came to you with valid points about how Phoenixes need a buff, on which pretty much everyone in the team agreed, and you simply discarded them without any valid arguments. And yes, if you had actually listened to our advice, the mod would be more balanced now. You just dont want to admit that fact because you think you know everything, because long ago you could fly fighters (do I really need to bring up the "Guardian/Odin and Katana/Wraith are the same" argument again?). You are trying to balance this mod by pure numerology while implying various theories that you picked up. It doesnt work like that and that is why you fail. Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - AeternusDoleo - 12-28-2011 The numbers are a start, and they are important. The actual results ingame can only be determined by playing - which is what the beta is for. Hard to test group fights with just 3 people doing playtesting afterall. And incidentally, (rage)quitting because people do not agree with you... Not exactly mature. Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - Fat.Igor - 12-28-2011 ' Wrote:And incidentally, (rage)quitting because people do not agree with you... Not exactly mature. Please dont morph my words. I was called there to give advice and to test ships. My advice about the guns and ships that needed testing was ignored. So tell me, was there a reason to stay? Would you be working on the new mod release if everything you submitted wouldnt get in, and you werent provided an explanation as to why, but simply got a "because I say so"? I dont think you would. Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - Xenosaga - 12-28-2011 ' Wrote:The Chimaera razor/cd hardpoint feels kinda awkward compared to other VHFs. Also, it doesn't fire from certain angles. I think some other VHFs have the problem as well. I notice it, when I turn and want to CD, sometimes it just does not work. I think the Titan has the problem too. Discovery Mod: Balance Issues - mjolnir - 12-28-2011 ' Wrote:a) Im not Sina a) wasn't talking to you in that post b) It went like this (note the bolded parts) A: Chimaera/Katana is tiny Me: Actually it's very close in size to Guardian look at: this picture. Also compare it to this picture. A: (to someone else): Lol Mjolnir is so ******* he says Chimaera is the same as Guardian....etc. Me (later): I only said they are similar in size, nothing about handling or performance in fight. A: You said they are same, you know nothing* , you only look at numbers*... etc in the same way as the post #66 above. (* a bit different language) ---------------------------------------------------------------- Anyway funny conversations aside. Two points: 1. It's always better to give feedback on ships/guns etc. rather than "everything is wrong" type of answers. That's what this thread and whole section of forums is for. If you don't give any usable feedback you shouldn't expect things to change. 2. Giving feedback and telling own opinion is one thing. Expecting that things get changed exactly as you propose (and quickly!) is another. Many people can have and have slightly or widely different opinions/ideas. If they are similar enough and don't contradict each other then they need to be synthesized into some result/change. This obviously needs time and more opinions to work, but generally during such slow process as mod development it's good to have different perspectives over time instead of impulsively changing things. When 4.85 came out the dev team was criticized a lot for being composed of only good pilots so that the performance and balance of stuff didn't work with average pilots. During the last year the 4.86 dev team is criticized for very much exactly the opposite. Let's leave how much either of these is correct aside, any of the two extreme approaches is probably not a good idea. Achieving some balance between them is extremely difficult and only one thing is certain: There will aways be criticism. |
