Average pirate demand amount? Noticing a pattern here... - Exsiled_one - 12-14-2009 Then you never met a true Corsair. I have no idea how can anyone die against such a slow hip. Also, if you charge them for your life, you are violating a server rule Average pirate demand amount? Noticing a pattern here... - Rudo - 12-14-2009 I ask for what I think I'll get. It's all dependent on a myriad of factors: - the faction of the vessel I'm hitting. if I find a Hogosha smuggler on my Junker, there's a price. If I find a BMM mining on my Molly, there's a price. - the ramifications of the cargo and projected destinations in relation to my own played faction - the value of said cargo and ease in selling it - how close I am to being sniffed out and shot down by someone with the agenda and the hardware to do so - the quality of interaction and general vibe of the player. rule-lawyering and ooc whining gets an automatic increase in the fare. - how nice I'm feeling that day. this is the biggest factor of all. sometimes I just spook trade vessels to see if they'll stop. Typically if I'm cargo pirating it's either a quarter to a third of the cargo or enough to fill a freighter if that's what I have. If I'm after cash it's anything from 500k for when law enforcement are on to my character and could be on the horizon any second, to 3 mil for those traders who silently cruise over and over when it comes to a 1 mil demand. Usually I just get all the cargo when that happens anyway. Average pirate demand amount? And please note, that I measure it by the look of cargo, even if I by some accident know how mutch it worth. How should I know the prices, I cant even land on those bases. Feel free to convince me that I'm wrong. Sounds fair? Also I'm a bit grateful towards the people labelled 'lolpirates'. They make average piracy encounters real dangerous for the unsuspecting trader. They bear the burden of being a jerk, while keeping the routes adventurous for everyone want to make profit that way. Browsing this thread, you must have noticed that Sirius is full of decent pirates - what doesn't matters a single bit since you cannot know who CDd you most of the time. Those '10milordai' pirates maintaining the high risk and tension. And without it trading would be as boring as it usualy is. I personaly feel myself bad after spaceing an uncooperative trader, and mutch worse after I demand a full cargo from someone. When I did so, I did because of RP resons. And note the last two instances was with a couple thousand tons of neon. I (my character to be precise) do this for the people of Liberty. Who has a reason to demand a full load of silver from a freelancer other than greed? A werewolf maybe. ;) |
