Police using Military ships - RmJ - 04-12-2011

Going to say this in a manner we all can understand.

Go play the game.

Why the hell not?

You're saying this as if you want to restrict ship choice for a certain group which by rules have access to more.

I put my opinion Heilor on reply to the OP. Again, its just how it is. If you as a player can't understand it, then you probably won't:)Either way just have fun with what you do. To me, I couldn't care less. However, because you took the time and deconstructed my post, I shall have right to reply:

Liberty Police Incorporated
In terms of LPI- we'll continue to use Liberators as patrol craft, in particular for RO's and Officers as such is the policy thats been there, as far as I've read/seen, since the start.

In terms of being LPI, Role-Playing as a police officer is, to majority of those in LPI, the most enjoyable thing regardless of firepower of your craft. Patrolling with fellow LPI Officers to do what the LPI is there for, is more than enjoyable for those that are such. That is why we boast about our free sunbucks and donuts, even if they aren't material;)

Vessels and Load-out
Our beloved patrol crafts are the Liberator and the Patriot:). An officer via promotions can get different vessels. An officer also can apply for SWAT, with VHF/Bombers/etc as its armory, as is required for that rank and/or operation. Black Watch members also have a unique standing in terms of their armory. Each organisational section is there for a purpose of the LPI and for the use of those officers. Hence, again like the last thread, a clarification on LPI Vessel armory. Further information can be found here: http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php/Libe...player_faction)

In terms of our standard patrol craft the Liberators are the standard for LPI-. Previous years LPI had the Patriot as the required patrol craft for our lower ranks and, to your eyes Heilor and to many a clearly insuperior craft. However, this is again due to the way the LPI operates because its about policing Liberty, not about hard-punching-in-your-face destruction. That is where our SWAT and our Black Watch units come in, and collaboration with our friends and allies in the Liberty Fleet, and elsewhere.

In terms of the benefits of the Liberator, its one of, if not the best light fighter out there: its fast, its agile, and its hard to shoot down for slow-firing vessels. It can take on most Heavy Fights and Freighter-class vessels out there, and many Very Heavy Fighter vessels also, excluding the Sabre. In my career, I have destroyed many of those craft that have broken the law or through RP, come to a conflict. Roleplaying with a Liberator LPI with flashing lights is nothing but, for me, enjoyable.

I love patrolling in a Liberator and its a fantastic craft; its fast, its agile, and with Magma Hammers/Vengeance Class 9's, and Debilitators or straight, it does a fantastic job on alot of targets. Being part of a team, and also part of the Liberty fleet as below, is what makes one craft more than the metal its made of.

LPI is part of the Liberty Fleet
Lets talk bigger-picture. here according to our armaments, VHF's and Bombers can be deployed, not to mention Sergeants up on duty in a heavier fighter to assist.

Furthermore, the purpose of the being in the Liberty Fleet is co-operation and collaboration with other primary fleet, and secondary fleet. If we see a situation developing, we gather, we communicate, we organise, and then we act. An example: a group of 5 hostiles, 2 Gunboats, 1 bomber and 2 VHF's are sighted by a LPI officer on patrol. SWAT bombers are deployed. Communication between Primary/Secondary Fleet ensues to respond, organisation is done and then it goes forth. This was the situation yesterday and because of this we were victorious. To think that the purpose other than this is to attempt to engage on some self-indulged mission of suicide that is more important than that, is just ignorant.

That is what to be part of a fleet is about. Its not just myself who is fighting, its my fellow officers, my fellow fleet members and other lawfuls who are willing to assist the LPI.

Overall

As I said and as above, My perception on enjoying the game is different as I'm not out there to destroy every criminal vessel that I encounter. I Roleplay, I patrol, I enjoy the company of Primary Fleet, Secondary Fleet, Friendlies and anybody that wants to RP. I enjoy RP'ing with criminals, as many RP very well with their cargo and the crimes they commit. Most though don't, but thats not the point.

Point being, my perception of not being worried at all about being destroyed and hence being an LPI Officer regardless of a lighter-style vessel than the Sabre's that plague the skies, is because of myself and my character: http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php/Vladimir_Law - It doesn't exist in an enigma, nor does it 'die' when my craft is destroyed. Hence is why, to me, as one criticised before, getting a shield down and a bit of a hull on a Sabre (who's pilot I knew was very experienced) with my Liberator was a success.

My character and myself take what I achieve as positive. I enjoyed that battle, even if all that I accomplished as an individual was that. However, in the bigger picture, as being one person in a movement of the fleet itself, Liberty Fleet secured New York and the surrounding sectors that night, so as an LPI Sergeant and as a member of the Primary Fleet and the fleet itself, it was a success.

To that, is all I can really say why we all don't have VHF's and to me, as an individual. Laugh all you like, mock all you like, criticise all you like but without doing a positive action, like actually flying around Liberator enjoying the RP of an officer be it indie or not, and trying to enforce the law within a 'greater movement', you won't understand. People as such who think that when their vessel is destroyed that its the end of their game, also, will never understand. That's just how it is, and that is why the purpose of this topic is complete.
