"Nothing is ever perfect as this meeting is planning up to be. What problems do you expect to occurr.. And measures that you will take in response?"
The old man arose from his seat.
"As we all know.. The Royalists, the Core Worlds and the market you control, as you nicely placed it, are immense.. Immense problems may appear."
His eyes perused the crowd.
"I do find that the inexpected surge of cardimine will not go unnoticed by the Royalists.. And for what i could gather.. They like to be very much in control.. Yes?"
He left that last question to linger in the air.

Samantha remained silent for most of the discussion. After the senator spoke she raised her glass took a sip and started speaking not too loud whilst looking at the class.
'The Senator is correct of course, the knife does have two edges, if you are not careful you can very well cut yourself as well'¦The Sabre however has one edge...'
Sam looked at Enzo and made a barely detectable smile
'Excuse me for the metaphor it is just my belief that that with our superior technology and the support of my guys in the Taus they can give the Royalists a run for their money'

I will not lie to you. The Gallic Navy is very powerful. Powerful as in, very numerous and technologically advanced. I seriously doubt any force in this galaxy has the power to defeat it one on one.
They already know of le Cardamine, and are strictly against it. So on the topic of hostility between your nation and them, nothing changes. They do not yet know that any Gallic faction will transport it into their homeland. When they find that out, problems will mainly arise for us, the Brigands and Unione Corse.
We will have to face stronger attacks against our bases and planets...so we will have to rely on stronger defenses and on our more or less well hidden stations. However, I firmly believe that we will be able to defend their attacks as we have done.
Considering the Maltese Nation, you have a very good strategical position against invading Gallic forces. The minefield from Lorraine to Omicron 80 will prevent threatening Gallic fleets from storming in, so that you can defend yourselves and destroy their smaller attack formations efficiently. From what I have seen, your powerful defense navy will have no problems clearing out those.
Their only direct attack route to Malta will be through the Tau systems, obviously, but there they will encounter enough other factions that will keep them away from direct strikes against the Maltese Nation.
You can count on our assistance against any attacks of the Royals - They will not succeed in harming the Maltese Nation.

After some more hours of discussing, the meeting seemed to head to an end.
Enzo stood up.
"I want to thank you again for this meeting, mes amis de Malta. I have been called back into the Gallic Borderworlds, it seems the Gallic Royal Navy is preparing their attack, and this is threatening our bases in that area. If you have any other questions directed to me, please ask me now."
