"Dragoon", Paladin replacement - jammi - 10-04-2011 If you want, I'll write an infocard for it. You've got to keep them relatively short, or you go into 'Igiss ramble-mode'. Especially for fighters. Three paragraph novels for snub infocards just looks plain wrong. EDIT: I'm also extremely happy this got in. :) EDIT2: Sent you a possible infocard. I can write others using entirely different themes if you want. "Dragoon", Paladin replacement - Gruffalo - 10-04-2011 I'm glad this got in. The Dragoon will be top on my to-buy list in 4.86. :) "Dragoon", Paladin replacement - Jam - 10-05-2011 First of all, I want to thank all the people who supported us. I am very glad this model got in, and that the community likes it. Let's hope it will be a successful project and that people will fly it eventually. Once again, thank you for your support (especially Fallen and Azrael; this model wouldn't be here without them). For now at the current Paladin stats, combat testing will see if that needs changing (probably will, this model's harder to hit after all). If you sent that infocard my way, I have not received it. "Dragoon", Paladin replacement - jammi - 10-06-2011 One. "Much alike the Templar and Hussar, the Dragoon class heavy fighter can trace its roots back to the venerable 'Bee-One'. The concept of a revolutionary blend of agility and firepower was one that had entertained Bretonian engineers for centuries. Sadly, the cost of producing the high-quality components required rendered mass production infeasible due to the BAF's peacetime budget. After numerous industrial breakthroughs (resulting in the Templar) the cost of these components plummeted, allowing for the vessel to enter prototype production. With the advent of the Tau War, the Dragoon was accelerated to front line duties, in order to match Kusari's agile fighters. Dragoons can now be spotted acting as scouts and skirmishers, actively engaging the Gallic war machine. "
Two."The Dragoon is the result of years of painstaking research and development in the weapons labs of Sunderland Research Station. Utilising many of the technologies that make the Templar and Hussar essential Bretonian assets, the Dragoon attempts to find a happy middle-ground between these two prestigious ships. Boasting a revolutionary combination of agility and firepower, the Dragoon has found favour among the BAF's skirmishers and scouts who need to strike fast and hit harder."
I can do different ones if neither of these are considered good enough for submission. I prefer the second to the first though. The first rambles too much, and is too long.
"Dragoon", Paladin replacement - AeternusDoleo - 10-06-2011 Second is appropriate. Taking it. However I'd like to stick to the name "Paladin" due to it being referenced in some Kusari infocards as well. "Dragoon", Paladin replacement - jammi - 10-06-2011 Well, tinker with my infocard as required. Even so, I think Jam, Fallen and just about everyone else here wanted it to be the Dragoon. Where else is it actually referenced? "Dragoon", Paladin replacement - FallenKnight - 10-06-2011 ' Wrote:I'd like to stick to the name "Paladin" due to it being referenced in some Kusari infocards as well.We have decided our project to carry the name of "Dragoon" and as jammi said, bretonian community as well as other non bretonian members seems to like it and already are referring to the model with its codename "Dragoon. That is how it took their attention and because of that it have to stay as Dragoon. Paladin was an old name for an old ship with old history. It was not used, it had problems and much more. Dragoon may be just a replacement for the Paladin's model but it carry a new name and possibilities for a new and better future of this heavy fighter. That is why we would like and insist the name to be changed to Dragoon. Thank you for the understanding. "Dragoon", Paladin replacement - AeternusDoleo - 10-07-2011 Right, well, in order to do that I'd have to track down every infocard that's referenced in. The infocard team itself is busy with the Gallic rumors. I'll tag it on the todo, but that change might not make the beta. "Dragoon", Paladin replacement - jammi - 10-07-2011 I seriously doubt the Paladin was mentioned much, if at all. It's an unpopular mod created ship with no bearing on the storyline, and in .85 and earlier versions, the rumour team was notoriously lazy when it came to adding new material. Mostly because there wasn't a rumour team then. I've never seen the Paladin mentioned in any news articles, or in any base infocards. Seriously, I don't understand where these references are. EDIT: FLDev, Ctrl + F, "Paladin"? |
