Yes, Jinx, I'v pointed that out, as well as Sammaels being the strongest Laser guns due to the fact that Werewolf can mount only 5, and is quite a brick.

However, it's not always like that. For example, Hackers fly a Sabre, Outcasts fly a Sabre.
While Hellfurries use more energy for 130 less damage comparing to Krakens..
That can't be right, can it?

And also, take Outcast - Corsair example.
Sabre mounts 7 guns, Titan mounts 6.
Take in consideration that one or two on titan have to be tizonas/coladas, while Sabre can mount an inferno and 7 hullbusters.
And Kraken is doing more damage + faster projectiles.
So, it isn't always like that.
Of course, Titan can mount a Mini-Razor and 6 hullbusters, but still, Mini-razor requires much more skill then Inferno.

If you have evenly matched pilots... that can't use missiles/mines yes...but if not.... btw. every and any 1vs1 in Titan took under 3 minutes :P

Widow's really aren't that bad...

Sure, the 6 I have on my Eagle makes mince meat of the plant quickly, but that isn't a problem if I hit most of them. Combined with their efficiency against graviton shields, they aren't all that bad.

That said, it doesn't suit the Eagle powerplant at all. Its all about the style of pilot, but a lot is possible with high damage guns on a very agile fighter. Though, I am useless against any capital ships...

And shush Mjolnir, just cause I rammed your missiles head on!:PI knew I should've turned on my countermeasures...

That was just one of some 10 1vs1 in Titan I had lately.. all end up rather quickly.. often with my dead as well.. ...in the start I was quite hopeless against mines in a Titan.

But when you use up/down strafe and evading instead of to the side (like on just about all other ships)... it's not that big problem.

I vote for 550m/s and 1100 damage for the Plasma cannons. I don't want to seem them as substitutes for actual primary weapons.

Look at Bretonia.. they have two guns that are both very closely balanced... same with Wyrm/Kraken...

"Primary weapons" says who?

Sorry but... Liberty Navy NPCs have only Magma Hammers ... :rtfm:

Kusari also has 2 usable guns.
I really think you'r not right elgato.
As far as I'v seen, Liberty Navy and RM military mostly use codes, which is reasonable considering that their weps suck.
SA is even using Buckshots.
I don't think that is the path we want to follow.
They will still be considerably weaker then codes (970 damage instead of 1200-1400), but at least people who want to RP will be able to use them without bigger consequences to their PVP abilities.
And + they will have no excuse for using oorp weapons.

what were the original damages of the weapons anyway? ... the original FL stats i mean. - maybe just resetting them to what they were balances everything again.

and about SA using buckshots - well its ooRP, besides - high level vengeances are not too bad - they have a good projectile look, a neat sound and the NPCs are kicking quite some butt with them.

First... most factions didn't had lvl 9 guns... don't remember which ones actually had...

I think only Outcast, Corsairs and BHG...

and Krakens were maybe even stronger in vanilla as far as I recall. Otherwise.. deactivate disco (restore defaults) and check.

Point is, 8.33 Laser weapons are not that good on slow VHF's.
They are great on Liberators, I know, i use them.
But, in a VHF, you need to deal much damage for less time, so you can dodge in between.
You can't possibly follow your target around like in an LF.
8.33 Laser weapons are perfect for LF's, they are even good for HF's, like Taiidan, or Blood Dragon HF.
But imagine Titan/Templar with them.

So, I think they need that extra punch.
And to be honest, no one can really aim well with 500 speed against decent pilots.
