"Today i was able to prevent a major cardamine delivery into rheinland space. the culprit [zoners]ivankaBoljkovak was found in sigma-13 with a cargo full to the rim with cardamine. (whale transport) he was asked to stop - but jumped to frankfurt. i jumped after him - asked him to drop the cargo or be destroyed. he refused to do so and headed into the crystalline minefield. there he was destroyed by my bomber.

it appears that there are some individuals that try to smuggle contraband into the house systems cloaked as zoners. they appear to be organized and well connected and operating large scale, considering it wasn t a little freighter or fightercraft smuggling a minor amount of cardamine - but a major amount of cardamine.

i picked up evidence and brought it to new berlin police base. the rest of the cardamine was destroyed in space.

the new berlin police has payed me for that service ( payed for the 70 units of cardamine ) - so this message is only mean to inform the RM that those [zoners] might need to be watch closely.

Hauptgefreiter, the report is most unfortunate for the TT. All RM pilots are to keep a eye on these "Thunderteam" traders, watch where they go and what they're transporting. If they are supporting the Corsairs, they will be banned from Rheinland.

I was on call when I was informed of a large Corsair force entering New Berlin. As took off from the planet and undocked, I met a big Corsair fleet promoting chaos in system. At first I identified a force of some four or five Corsair vessels, only two or three of those close enough to the orbit for me to pick them up on scanners. I understand a portion of that fleet was already engaging some other pilot(s) in system. Unfortunately as I started understanding the situation, that pilot's ship was destroyed by a known Corsair bomber vessel. The force was comprised by one TBH bomber, three OPG vessels and one unmarked Corsair ship. I acknowledge this data can be incorrect or incomplete, but I had little chance to do a proper assessment of the situation before I engaged the forces, given a portion of it was already orbiting the planet putting the lives of the civilians at risk.

To my understanding, I was fighting alone in the midst of some three or four vessels of the total force before some welcome backup arrived from unaffiliated forces. I take it most of them were Bounty Hunters. A couple of bombers put out one of the two Cruisers present. I myself put down an OPG Titan, I understand another OPG vessel had malfunctions of some kind and left the battle. Unfortunately the forces that came to aid all perished to the two remaining vessels (a Praetorian and a Cruiser). I kept tailing the bomber while tried to avoid both it's deadly supernova cannon and the rain of fire coming from the Cruiser. The bomber cleverly used the Cruiser as a shield against me, but in time it was loosing ground in the fight as I was slowly corroding it's hull. As I tried to bring him out of the Cruiser's range the bomber finally stood behing the larger vessel, avoiding fight.

With my reserves almost depleted, seeing that we had come to a stand off, since I wouldn't be able to down the Cruiser single handedly, and also seeing the bomber unwillingness to give up the Cruiser's shielding, I ordered them out. The bomber didn't take my offer to leave and moved to the planet. He said something in open comms about planet bombardment and started deflagrating Supernova fire directed at the atmosphere. I didn't quite understand his futile attempts to have the weapon's energy fire survive the drop inside the dense atmosphere, but I wouldn't have it freely acting right on New Berlin's orbit, let alone firing such a dangerous weapon right next to the docking ring.

With his hull in a bad shape and me firing at him, apparently he finally saw the futility of it all and both vessels left.

I come once again with a report on the ongoing investigation of the organization known as TT. I've met yet another trader flying under their colors. Only this time, this individual was careless enough to fly under quite a shady registration as provided in my ship's log of it's scan.

I questioned the trader in question about his relationship with the Corsairs, here's also the log of my inquire.

At the same time, our deep space sensor stations and hidden sources in Gamma reported identification of a number of TT signatures around the Corsair homeworld, as also shown in my onboard computer's log. Also, again they didn't appear to be engaged in hostilities from the scarce reports I've obtained from our sources in the Omicrons.

Interesting is that the very same ship from my last report, this time was positively identified operating in Gamma.

If command will pardon me jumping ahead of things, but even though all these evidences are very circumstantial, I think it's an educated guess at least, to supposed the Corsairs are orchestrating this clever ruse to rebuild their war machine severely wounded by our military during their attempt on Rheinland at the expense and labor of our own people.

Even though the trader I've communicated with sounded sincerely ignorant of my insinuations, I would expect nothing less from a trained lying man.

I apologize for me working perhaps outside of standard protocol, my academy training of course didn't include cover operations coordination and I wouldn't dream of doing such thing. I am merely observing of our nation and everything that may threat our safety and sovereignty.

Pilots, after receiving intel from a RepEx officer on ongoing activities in Sigma 13, and Hauptgefreiter Hans Krieger report. Visual captures of [TT] ships were found, holding Corsair identification's and IFFs. So, from this time forth. ALL [TT] marked ships are here by Kill on Sight within all of Rheinland. This includes any Trader and/or escort they may bring, they will not supply the Corsairs with resources from our planets, it ends now.

Krieger's intel report did show information on how some [TT] ships may have no intentions of assisting the Corsairs, but we will not take this in to considerations, and we will not make any exceptions. If they wish to keep their ships, they can have their IFF changed, as I personally don't trust the words that come out of their mouths.

Earlier today I received orders to launch my Wrath and meet Stabskapitanleutnant Krupinski in orbit. There were a number of Outcast vessels in system and we moved to intercept. The Stabskapitanleutnant destroyed one of the vessels while I chased another one out to Sigma-13.

Meanwhile I noticed an unknown ship marked CYLON moving in system. As we made sure the Outcast threat was eliminated we proceeded to a search of the CYLON ship. As I took the tradelane to Brandenburg, I found the said ship around the Sigma-13 jumphole, a pirate Kushan VHF. I moved to engaged and alerted our forces. The Stabskapitanleutnant joined me as did AEGIS. The fight was a long one and Obergefreiter Galland joined us after a while. Eventually the ship succumbed to our combined fire.

After that, New Berlin got very quiet with only the high volume of commercial traffic.

My name is Gaius Baltar. I have the unfortunate privilege of sharing my name with a man who betrayed humanity to the Cylons eons ago. I am from his line ... but I assure you that while we share the same name, we are truly different in ideology.

That being said. I am an independent mercenary. My family arrived on the Bretonian sleeper ship. My family has been making attempts to live down the negative stigma our name is left with. As such, it has been extremely difficult to find work and kept fed. As a result, I have turned to the mercenary life. I accept work where I can ... mostly through escorting trading vessels. Its not glorious work, but it feeds me.

I have been able to bring aboard a small crew in similar circumstances as myself. The only ties we have are our families still living in Bretonia. We cannot disclose where they reside as this would place them in danger ... considering the work we do.

All introductions and such aside ... let me get to the point. We are looking for work. At present, we are having difficulties finding work due to the ban on our kind in both Liberty and Rheinland. I understand your security concerns and do not know how to resolve this for you. I would like to say ... on behalf of my crew and our families ... we have no intention of causing harm to Libertines or Rheinlanders. I hope this can help in granting us access to Rheinland for finding work.

Why maintain our association as mercenaries? This allows us to operate in both the inner rim and outer rim of Sirius with minimal resistance. While your military and police are busy keeping security of your house, traders have no protection once they leave your boundaries. Bounty hunters are at best an extension of your police powers. They are not suited for escorting traders in the deepest areas of Sirius. And they have very little influence with those who live in such places.

Please ladies and gentlemen of Rheinland ... consider my plea ... give us a chance.

I write this report still in the infirmary at our hospital wing at home. According to the nurse, I've been asleep for some time now. Indeed I see the sun already past mid point in the sky and the last thing I remember is being scrambled from New Berlin at night time alongside Obergefreiter Quentin.

There were a number of Phantom ships causing chaos amongst citizen and visitor vessels alike. Already, a number of civilian ships were downed and no information on casualties or injured was available. With the hostiles roaming freely outside the planet, nothing could be done to try and rescue scape pods and the people probably entraped inside the twisted metal and broken hulls of the now lifeless ships drifting in orbit.

Our instructions were to intercept and engage the hostiles while rescue teams tried to reach the downed vessels and rescue whoever was left from the first attack wave.

Me and Quentin both left New Berlin and found no ships in the immediate orbit of the planet. The Obergefreiter moved to Brandenburg while I went to Essen trying to pinpoint their location. Quentin reported back intercepting the ships in Brandenburg, I quickly returned to aid him and found the battle already started. There were two figthers and a bomber, Onyx, Virus and Lazarus. I ordered Quentin to aim first at the bomber, being it a less maneuverable vessel, I was hoping to take it out or at least cripple it enough to even the odds, at least in the number of crafts for us and lessen the threat to the civilian transports.

We managed to severely pound the bomber and it moved away. There were then two couples of fighters against each other. I issued then that we take out the Nomad vessel. After some time, I realized Quentin was being hunted down by the Sabre and changed targets to aid him. As I moved my attention from the Nomad vessel it took the advantage and landed several fierce blows against my shield and hull. I tried my best to avoid the fire while still aiding Quentin in bashing the Sabre. We were indeed presenting a good fight to it and in various opportunities we managed to score reasonable blows directly against its hull.

Another Phantom, Glock, approached the battle area, but it seemed to have little interest in actually joining the fray, orbitting the furball and probably enjoying we being hunted down by his kind.

Unfortunatelly, Quentin was also taking a beating and his Wrath finally gave up the fight reduced to debris. Quentin, though, successfuly escaped from the explosion, activating his ejection seat in time. Being the fight very near Brandenburg, the station personnel managed to tractor him in.

I kept my pursuit of Onyx while trying to avoid Virus' fire. Glock still didn't really engage, at least as far as I could perceive. Probably he knew the outcome already, but I wasn't yet defeated nor ready to give up the fight. The battle went on for a long time after Quentin's ship destruction and I managed to seriously injure Onyx's bird, but eventually my Wrath too succumbed to the hostiles. I managed to eject to safety apparently, but I'm still not cleared for flight by our physicians. I hope I'll be able to resume my duties in a short while.

As for the rescue mission, I don't know the details, but from what I've heard through comms before my fighter was shot down, our people managed to get to the ship wrecks. I just hope we bought them enough time to do some good to those people.

Rheinland Military Message Dump - Horon - 01-27-2008

[INCOMING TRANSMISSION FROM: Thomas Merrill, Captain of the Gunship Horon]

Not long ago a member of the [TT] was seen heading to The Ring. This particular person was flying no IFF, but had a Smuggler ID, and his vessel was of Pirate Train class. After watching it somehow get permission to dock with The Ring, I notified Mr. Wolfgang of this persons presence. After he undocked, I asked permission to open fire, and it was granted. Unfortunately, I had very little time to fire, as it was out of my weapons range. It engaged cruise, and then for some reason, headed to Planet New Berlin. Then, to my astonishment, actually DOCKED with Planet New Berlin. Photographs of this phenomenon included below.
