100,000,000 for a cloaked ship watching a player disconnect? You will have to redact and lower that. Again. There is something seriously wrong in the last couple of months in your process. It started with that dual overturned Alucard ban and keeps happening.

As Haste mentioned in the thread you linked, the point of fines is for them to fine the player. As you'd expect. However, a player with krillions of credits will in fact not care about a 5 million credit fine. So fines have to scale with a player's wealth. Discovery has never done this, and as a result, many people have gotten """""""""sanctioned""""""""" and received virtually no punishment. That doesn't sound very fair.

Sure, but 10 billion (old credits) is absolutely ludicrous. I don't know how stacked Hopewell is, but 10 billion is absolutely unreasonable.

It's around 100 hours of game time

So, you'd prefer he be slapped on a wrist by some pocket change (for him) fine? I mean, sure, for me, it would vacuum my bank clean, but I'd assume if they took 100mil (current creds) then he had a lot more remaining. And I'm sorry but I'm fully for taking enough money to actually make you care.

What happens if someone who is a veteran like @Haste gets sanctioned who has a low net worth? Money doesn't matter to him, to make it hurt, should he be banned for 7 days if there's not enough money to take?

All his weapons should be deleted.

I mean, if he's sitting on 1 bil (current creds) then it's probably fine. Like I said, I don't know how much cash he's got kicking around, probably in the neighborhood of 600-800 mil, but taking such a large percentage of someone's cash is a bit bonkers. Yeah, the old 5 mil fines were much lower than they should have been; I could see a 100 mil fine being totally reasonable back in the day. I mean, it would've cleaned me out then, purely because I never kept credits around.

unless they are next expensive codes, that does very little

What I find more worrisome is that whoever reviewed the evidence saw the reporter cloaked and thought it was okay to proceed with the sanction

And it is supposed to be more than one person. Which means all those who chipped in there were blind.

totally agree. about the fine, i agree that should be a good punishment but ... that's too much credits, unless of course the player is making the same "mistake" several times !!
