Wiki - Feedback Thread - Blodo - 08-20-2008 ' Wrote:Everyone: In regards to the 'overall House space pages' (Rheinland, Kusari, Liberty, Bretonia, etc...) please leave theseHmm. I was planning to make a history of all the four houses for some time now. I started with house Rheinland, since I already did plenty of research on it's part. I assume you guys are planning a description of the administration, territories and politics? Maybe we could brainstom this subject on skype a bit? Wiki - Feedback Thread - looqas - 08-21-2008 The style guide looks (even at it's unfinished state) my wet dream come true. This is EXACTLY what we need to make wiki blossom into it's full potential. Excellent work Hyung and Blodo and others who have contributed. Wiki - Feedback Thread - chovynz - 08-21-2008 As it is, it's a massive document. Could be overwhelming to new editors (heck, it's overwhelming to me and I wrote the damned thing.) What do you guys think of splitting it up the first part being The Basics. Then people get to choose what they want to get a guide on with some arrayed links? so like... Welcome blah blah blah yakkity shmakkity The Basics To get started learning about the Discovery Wiki Styles please click on one of these links Ships | Stations | Bases | Planets | Weapons | Factions | etc... Wiki - Feedback Thread - MarvinCZ - 08-25-2008 @ Hyung: The Guide is beautiful:)I used just a small part about ships recently and skimmed through the rest, but ... it's just fantastic. Break it down if you think that will help. I can find my way easily, but I can't imagine impressions of a new user. I have a minor suggestion. I would like to have links to other ship classes in ship lists (Fighters - Bombers - Freighters - Transports - Capital Ships). It would save some valuable time, at least for me;)I don't know how to do it so it looks good. And a third thing... There is that red link to "Noimage.png" in many of the Ship Infoboxes... What about a real Noimage.png ? I gave it a try, but probably failed: [IMAGE]. I didn't dare uploading it as Noimage.png without asking first... I'lll do a similar "Nav Bar" thing on those lists. Or you could do it. Use this format and pipe the links to each list. Make a blurb about what its for and stuff. [[Fighters]] | [[Bombers]] | [[Capital ships]] | [[Freighters]] | [[Transports]] 3. (I did like this idea at first) but its better if we leave it without a picture. Then editors know which ships need renders for the ships.. Sorry, but good thought anyway.:) Wiki - Feedback Thread - MarvinCZ - 08-26-2008 ' Wrote:1. Thanks:)I will spilt it up. They will know, if they go to the picture and check the "Links" section (similar to "What links here" page) at the bottom of the image page, they will get a list of the ships that lack image (I'm not sure how to do it now, without the image). We can also add a request for a render in the image description. The image itself can be in a style better articulating the lack of an image. Maybe having it written there instead of a question mark... There are many possibilities. edit: Also, the infobox was apparently meant to contain an image there. The red link to Noimage.png surely wasn't the intended state... Wiki - Feedback Thread - chovynz - 08-26-2008 ' Wrote:3. If yo uneed help with the image creation let me know. I prefer a red Question mark. Y'know... red = missing or danger or something like that. Remove the |image part and you'll see what page to link to. Wiki - Feedback Thread - Blodo - 08-26-2008 Navbar could be a template. Wiki - Feedback Thread - chovynz - 08-26-2008 The Guide one already is. It wont take much to CnP to the Ship_Lists_Nav and change the words and links. And can i get some feedback on the new guide navigation? is it easier to read and navigate? http://discoveryfl.com/wiki/index.php/Style_Guide Wiki - Feedback Thread - Blodo - 08-26-2008 Looks awesome to me. We need to finish a commodity and system page template. If anyone has any proposals what and how to put it on them, go ahead. I'm going to keep dibbling, and maybe I will figure something out. Also, to people adding templates to ships: remember that wiki interprets a linebreak as an actual <br> or even a beginning of new paragraph. To avoid redundant whitespaces, you should not add linebreaks between the infobox template and the text content itself, otherwise the text looks nudged down. I know it's sorta anal, but I hate wasting space:P |
