Liberty Navy [LN] - Rudo - 08-28-2008 ' Wrote:I'm just saying that in proper RP, overwhelming force makes more sense because you want to make sure you don't lose your pilots. Safety is what matters most, also, if there are 4 LN in Cali shooting you, why would someone guard Alaska? Priorities first, if you have a situation in Cali, and no situation in Alaska, why waste manpower on something insignificant? Respect, LN has enough of it from the people who's opinion I consider worthy of having an opinion:P Others I don't really pay attention to, not that many who complain anyway. When I get evidence of doing something wrong or something that would mean we deserve no respect or less respect, sure I'll believe it. Until then, such comments are ignored. Who says there isn't a situation at Alaska? Nobody's there to report it! And very well, if this is how the modus operandi is, I'll play by it. 'Tactical realism' is hardly a reason to start cheapening your tactics, with 'They do it too'' being painted over as a thin veneer to cover the other weak excuse. With your influence I'd be setting an example for the server rather than stooping to the lower level for the sake of winning at all costs. But that's me. It's your faction, do what you like. I'll be a lot more handy with the screenshot button if this is what it takes for an opinion to "matter". But I'll be tacking on a lot more opinions regarding your demeanor to those that do in fact have the betterment of everyone's gameplay in mind. It's more than a game to you, but I'm just in it to have fun and to ensure everyone around me enjoys themselves too. Just to close off: I'm not discrediting the work done over the past few months here. You've done a fine job. But never close yourself off to criticism, and think about your stance regarding those that care enough to give you feedback. **edited for tact** Liberty Navy [LN] - TDLdark - 08-28-2008 Sadly, there is often is a Situation in Alaska and z21, we do try to deal with it. However, Liberty is overrun by pirates. When there is a lull in the fighting, we deploy ships there, but still, many times we find ourselves attacked on multiple fronts, and it seems impossible to do everything. Anyone who has fought along the side of Liberty knows this well, our pace of work is very high. It's also extremely unpredictable. One moment there can be nothing going on at all, then suddenly multiple pirates attack in a various multitude of places and then a torrent of smuggler and trespassing activity. It's very hard to both combat pirates, chase smugglers, and still have forces left to protect Alaska. And I know a reason why many people chose to swarm fighters, is becuase it simply takes so long for a 1 vs 1 fighter on fighter battle. They can often last for ages. And while deep in the omicrons, it might not matter if there is a hour long 1 vs 1, it does matter to us. As I already said, Liberty is a busy system, and smugglers come in and out. Having a 1 vs 1 battle, with a backup ship waiting nearby, is a waste of resources. However, when there is a lull, again, I try to have some fairness, but there's a point where fairness is extremely detrimental to the health of Liberty. And I do not mean by the destruction of Liberty ships, but I also meant incursions into Alaska, smugglers, pirates, so forth. Liberty Navy [LN] - Titan - 08-28-2008 I am always open to criticism, but lots of people tend to lie/confuse LN for LNS/not provide proof of their claims, and I've more often than not found proof that are totally to the contrary of what people say, so excuse me for not really giving a damn about what people say. If you can prove it, I'll believe it. As for our busy workload, I was online yesterday on Talon for 5 hours, I have had about 10 min of free time during that from all the pirate attacks, battleships roaming about and all the other crap that happens, so we must set our priorities. If I have 4 fighters on someone in Cali, I won't send them somewhere just to secure that area unless we get a report about someone being there. If we have nothing to do, we patrol zone 21, New York, Cali, Texas, and other systems whenever we have time, that's pretty much what happens. And people have different kinds of RP, mine is on realism, and frankly if I can provide my forces with minimal losses by overwhelming the enemy, I do it. But I do it in a fair way, I wont send caps against fighters, but I will send 3-4 fighters on a single fighter if necessary, because I know some people are capable of taking out 2 or even 3 easily. Liberty Navy [LN] - Spear - 08-28-2008 ' Wrote:We today was an exciting day of shield running for a particular Xeno. And after we were so nice to ask the dreadnought to stand down the whole time...... What the hell! Sheild running? Wow thats low, 5 people shooting me, and its called using your thruster, a sheild can be vaporised in an instant, I am tired of people accusing others of a phantom offense. I had to evade like crazy. Sheild running? Good God try and know what you are talking about please! Sheild running is engaging cruise, buggering off till your sheild regens then returning to battle, and the actual offense here would be re-engagement. Sheild running is an offiense aimed at Caps, fighters/bombers sheilds can be smashed on one pass with most if not all of their hull on a fighter. I am not critisising getting swarmed 5 v 1, yet I have to listen to you talk rubbish? Is this perhaps sour grapes that I escaped? Do not call people sheild-runners when you do not even know what it is, rule lawyering is an offense too you know. Liberty Navy [LN] - SevereTrinity - 08-28-2008 Right, if anyone has no feedback for [LN] here, then take your flames and concerns to PM. I only want people posting here if they have feedback we can actually use. Also, before anyone says I was posting crap earlier, yes, I was, and I ain't going to anymore. EDIT: Right this is High Command atm, or all the active people Admirals: John Talon and Chris Phelps (Titan and Razr respectively) Vice Admiral: Stephanie Malaign (Me) That is all I know for now, Sarah Willows has resigned, and Etaphreven isnt really around anymore. The rank Fleet Admiral no longer exists, and Richard Woolsey has resigned. Liberty Navy [LN] - Dab - 08-28-2008 Everyone, stop complaining about the shield running. Yes, it happens. Yes, its annoying. Yes, most people who accuse others of shield running do it themselves. Live with it. I could name two dozen people on Disco that shield run. They'd get angry, say I'm lieing, accuse me of doing it to salve their ego and pride. (Not that their ego is bigger than mine. *Points to sig*) Guess why I don't call them out on it? To save myself, them, and the forums the arguments, frustration, and hatred. So shut your mouth unless you have useful stuff to say. About LN; I think your main problem right now is lack of clear leadership.. You don't even know who is in total control.. And having a group of three in control isn't a good idea. Your a military, so you need an absolute ruler.. Other than that.. Try to reign in some of the peons that have their occasional power trips, as well as the indie capships that do the same. And pay more attention to the civilians, as I notice they are ignored often.. Liberty Navy [LN] - Titan - 08-29-2008 Militaries tend not to have an absolute ruler, but being controlled by a number of generals/admirals, so no absolute ruler necessary. Liberty Navy [LN] - roshi322 - 09-26-2008 ok i'm kinda tired of this. I am not here to flame or complain or anything but I do need these things addressed. My character is a freelancer who fly's an order ship. Its a Talon to be exact. Just saying that i'm sure most know who I am right off the bat. But I have an RP reason for flying it and in RP I have helped the LN many many times in battles against pirates and terrorists. But for some reason OOC complaints against me result in one of your hire ups telling me to leave only for the reason my ship is Order origin. When I refused and in an RP manner told them I will not open fire on a lawful ship if you attack me you will be destroying a non hostile vessel. well low and behold they open fire. I didnt move like I said cause my char is true to his word. I was destroyed for an OOC reason it seems IC I have had no problems with the LN up until now. All I am saying is that even the hire ups need to stick to rp and keep things civil. not just blow up people who the lower members complain about. Liberty Navy [LN] - SevereTrinity - 09-26-2008 I think you should remember as to the fact that you refused about 10 warnings to move, due to the fact we don't want to make our treaty with the Order public yet. You were warned, and you refused, as to the other LN, perhaps they had their reasons, perhaps they just did not understand the situation? Liberty Navy [LN] - dr lameos - 09-26-2008 From what I've seen your doing a good job. Considering all the crap thats always going on in Liberty, its fair enough that you can't do everything. Keep up the good work imo |
