Instead of getting people back they jerk them off by more and more restrictions.

Instead of stating how people are killing the mod, how about you actually contribute to the mod?

Learn coding, learn modeling. Do promotional stuff.
Go ingame and help newbies.
Report undesirable players.

Help Disco, instead of whining.

What for? Stop raping game's engine already.

It's enough models already.

Invited many people here, game seems too complicated/old to most of them. Senseless.

I do help newbies.

Stop killing it, and you will see less people being outraged.

I wish Igiss could see all the rules violation reports piling up concerning you right now. There are five at the moment. Why don't you stop saying our behavior is retarded, hmmm.

Seems like Disco is too complicated for you as well then, if adding two extra lines to an ID would spark such qq fests.
Go ingame and do something productive.

Garret, I'm interested in some situations now... Admin team please help me clear some things out:

Quote:* - Can attack any ship in self-defense or to protect a ship of the same affiliation.

1).For example, Pirates and RHA are grouped, and flying together in Rheinland: Pirating or doing some stuff together. Lawfuls come and start shooting only RHA, can a pirate assist RHA that time? For example, if lawfuls say only "Engaging to the RHA ships "(and don't mention pirates anywhere)?

2). Can a pirate hire a freelancer IDed ship and pay him money for hunting lawfuls' heads?

3). Pirates have hired Freelancer IDed ship, paying him money for kills. Lawfuls appear and that Freelancer starts his job, or just lawfuls start shooting that freelancer. Can that pirate assist him in need of assistance?

RE: The Pirate ID - New Changes - Jinx - 01-10-2015

A bit of experience from the past -

- firstly - why not stage a trial period ( that the admins stick to - as in ... actually keep the schedule and not forget about it ) - like saying "lets try that for 3 months", which is a reasonably long time, yet limited enough to revert back

a trial period might enlighten both sides of the practical effects of the changes instead of wild guessworks... however

- we had similar situations before ( similar, not the same ) - up to 4.83 release - lawful capital ships were allowed to engage unlawfuls freely when they caught them doing their unlawful deeds. - 4.84 forbade them to do that ... with the effect that some ( a minority of players actually ) exploited that fact ... teased, sometimes maliciously baited especially indie lawful caps to engage them - or taunted them while slowly crawling past them in plain sight with a cargo full of contraband - knowing they were not allowed to engage them by the rules ( not by any logic - although the ever defending crowd of disco ( then ) said that "capital ships could just fly with snubs to allow them to fight those nasty smugglers" - yea - it is an old mantra to fly with escorts )

This rule was given up for the sake of logic - and now lawful capships are allowed to engage traders doing unlawful deeds. ( we also know that this fact is something many people here disagree with still )

- i do predict that there certainly will be a small amount of people who will exploit or try to exploit such an ID rule. - some might even maliciously try to bait others into rule breaking - ready to snap some shots and submit one sided violation reports "for the greater good of disco for sure" - but those would be a small group of people i guess - and such people would also find a way to satisfy their needs.

in a more objective review of the rule change - i do not think it changes "too much" to be honest. However - it is a trend that kind of cripples some aspects of Disco - or has done so for a long, long time

remember that back then you could:

- team up instantly as a Bounty Hunter to get a quick in-game-contract ( uncomplicated without many obligations ) to take down a designated target.
- pre-emptively attack someone that appeared "threatingly" ( even as a zoner or a freelancer or other factions that were perceived as non-military )
- actually sneak attack others ( meaning you had to kind of made clear that you were about to attack - but as a matter of fact - "engaging [target]" was sufficient - pretty much at the impact of your first shots
- blow a trader up - without demands as a pirate - if it kind of made sense for your faction

all in all one can say - Disco then was a lot more "relaxed" ( yes, i know there is the Disco Relaxed server ) - and action of many kinds were available much more uncomplicated ( uncomplicated is the important term here )

I cannot remember Disco being more chaotic actually - or that players were more hostile towards each other. ( referring to the time when Disco had roughly the population of today - that is mid 4.83 )

Many things changed of course - one just has to remember the Silver-Niobium Kusari run - which was short, profitable and a typical A to B, B to A run ... nerfed, because the community hated "simple" back then. - But the effect of "simple" is that traders were more relaxed - even if robbed or destroyed, which reflected on pirates being regarded more as a feature than a punishment etc. things are interconnected.

But yea - net feeling of the change: no biggie for most ( but each change leaves a few casualties i guess )

RE: The Pirate ID - New Changes - Fluffyball - 01-10-2015

I believe you are more likely to use Freelancer ID now, because it seems superior to the actual Pirate ID. I mean, Freelancer can threat every vessel as combat target, if target is bountied and/or you are hired on spot.

RE: The Pirate ID - New Changes - Kauket - 01-10-2015

I don't see why the earlier suggestion of adding "FL/miner/pirate" ID able to targetted(piracy) can't be added. Or just change it to Traders/freighters in HOUSE SPACE only, and indie worlds free to pirate whatever?

Well the problem is it was the only ID that was able to cooperate with TheUnforgiven, as non-generic ID cannot work with SRP SpecOps (but still generic) ID, because we -were- able to initiate combat against such targets as Unione Corse, Hogosha, GRN and KNF - they don't fly freighters or transports. And since there's no ID that operates in Kusari and Taus, except for Outcast and Junkers ID - but those are out of question. Not only lolwhut used Pirate ID, mind you. Not that Pirate ID was already nerfed and rephacked so much, this thing is yet another hit for that ID. Why do we keep it anyway? After change, this ID is just... useless.

In short, either new Pirate ID makes our roleplay just plainly impossible, or Junker ID makes little to no sense, while it is okay by ruleset, it will be frowned upon as Kusari-born character used Junker ID.

RE: The Pirate ID - New Changes - Sath - 01-10-2015

Time to change my pirate ID sabres to something else now :}

And yeah, I believe the ID change is incomplete without covering all the possible issues/abuses Veygaar mentioned. God forbid the convoys with escorts and scrapers mining for someone who might be docked. (In which case, I might just CD the ore cloud :3 )
