PoB supplying is simplified in the current state to focus on F/O/W and basic alloys, it could be cut down with basic alloy upkeep but then replaced with a constant demand for MOX to power the station. Generally the focus stays small so only a couple things really need to be kept tracked.

Bases being maintained with credits goes against the idea that PoBs are an investment and should not be left sticking there left to rot with 50mil in the bank for years on end. If you run a PoB you should expect to put in the time and money, which comes in the form of upkeep costs which to be frank are pretty cheap and cheaper in some locations even still.

50 mio and 200.000 upkeep would make 250 days. And just in this thread I read that POBs are meant as a money-sink, too. Your/the general idea of POBs as an investment does not contradict the constant-credit-idea.

Win-win-win moment

Still the economy makes no sense, why is water more expensive on planets with lots of water? Why are resources so far and in-between?

Because farming credits and transfering them to the station is far easier than running them via commodity economy. If you have stations in dangerous locations or hard to reach locations you need to run the consequences of that by running long supply runs or dangerous supply runs.

A moderate location base at core 3 right now could fairly easily cost upwards towards 650k in oppertunity costs per day, so if you're running with the theory that credits could be used as a backup then it is far more like 1million per day as a reasonable cost, but even then it cuts down the dangers or positioning risks of bases in particular locations. The economy is based around that for PoBs.

Fair point.
