Should solaris turrets be de-nerfed ? - Camtheman Of Freelancer4Ever - 01-09-2010

Dusty, Harcourt did the same thing on his joker. He cried because I killed his gunship, tottaly within rules. They had about 3 bombers which if they were focused, could darn well kill my jug... Its just a repeating pattern.

Anyways. Solaris are quite fine. Besides the need for Heavy BS solaris, of which should be unmountable on smaller BS's. Things are quite good in the cap world. This is just an anrgy rant it seems.

Seriously: BS turrets need to drain about 10% less energy, travel 100m/s faster, and they'll be perfect in my opinion.

Gunboat solaris are very, very weak. Cruiser ones too, actually. Don't do anything to my Barghest.

maybe it would be courteous to let the player know ina private message you placed a bounty on them, because the players that come do not rp the encounter, and it really is justa random gank. honestly, anyone could claim some one else placed a bounty, but i dont think prior said bounty should justify a blindside sucker punch. because int he end, the player collecting the bounty in my opinion should be under obligation to RP, rather than gank.

wanted to say somthing about it last week when you did the same thing to me and my friend that was on the dragon when we were outside the badlands.

I didn't place the bounty. It was placed by the Liberty Rogues. It is placed on all independant navy caps in Liberty.

I was flying one of the bombers which flew in and claimed. We roleplayed it out, told the targets we were claiming, and them blew them up. This is what we commonly call roleplay.

Furthermore, you and the dragon, well... That's completly unrelated. That was you and a blood dragon, in liberty. You were warned several times, then I ordered the ship to attack you. That was not in any way a surprise, and has literally -nothing- to do with what you're talking about.

Next time you should probably try to be on the same page as your buddies. Sorry D}:|=

Also please RP with us next time before opening fire. My screenshots clearly show us interacting with your group before we were suddenly beset with fire from several members of your group. It was really scary and I came this close to making a forum thread about it.

Also does anyone have anything else to say about solaris turrets?

You've got a fair point to be honest.

One issue with, say, cruiser solaris is that they're balanced for the medium. If you put solaris turrets that were balanced for a, say, Order Carrier on a Kusari Dessy it would be murdersauce.

If you put Solaris balanced for a Juggy on a Bretonian BS it would be equally murdersauce.

Sometimes I wonder if we wouldn't be well served by another half dozen turret classes to better distinguish the roles between light and heavy vessels beyond turret numbers and plant size.

Maybe Solaris weapons need a buff in range.

I'm tired of this, really getting tired of this. Harcourt.

Your side says we role-played, our side says we role-played, both sides say you are whining right now because you lost. Please just drop it...

That was Mjolnir's idea, to split BS turret classes and give heavy BS's longer range weapons to compensate for their larger hulls. We could use some of his input on this, since i only captured a tiny bit of it.

Cam no offense, but I suggest you and others interested in discussing Battleship weapons and what not to make a new thread, because I know this thread was not intended for that purpose. I do respect you for your good tone in this thread just to make sure to you that I'm not being sarcastic. (I usually am...)
