I agree completely, if that what aerelm said in post #59 comes into effect.

Having read all the comments raised here, it seems that the the players are missing the good old days of 4.83 and 4.84, this is not to run down current role play, but just to state some of the fun from the old mods is missing, the days I died a thousand deaths and enjoyed every bit of some ship coming out of the sun or from a great hight and diving on me guns blasting without any warning, man it got the juices flowing, so if war with gallia can raise this back to near the old days then bring it on.

Yes, more war.

What is it good for? absolutely everything.

Let's just get some epic action going. It's all groundhog day for 2 years now.

Yes please, give those cowardly Frenchmen some courage and set them loose on the rest of us!

WAR! KRIEG! GUERRE! and more 戦争!

But do it properly. Make the GRN pacify the Counsel forces before giving them free reign in the Taus, be it event or otherwise.

It's about time. I'd love to see at least a bit of the planned storyline progress on the main server instead of the event servers.

BTW: Since you are preparing the community to get in the 4.86-mood... does this means that the day for
releasing 4.86 itself comes nearer?:nyam:

I thought the same when they arranged pre-4.86 events approximately 8-10 months ago.

And, in order not to deviate from the topic, I'd also support aerelm's suggestion concerning Gallic tech (not only Royal tech, though).

As for the technical side of things... If [C] agree to repfix, I wouldn't see a problem, especially considering the new -0.55 docking restriction. Even a repfix to full neutral can be a viable option (OORPly), considering Montezuma's concerns about distance. Furthermore, it might even be justified IRP. Just think of the planets and stations as contested, or give GRN the right to land on Quillan only (as if they've already seized some territory on the planet surface).

Immportant note: I'm just trying to come up with solutions of my own. I suppose, GRN and [C] will need to come OORP agreement, if repfixes are applied.

P.S.: if repfix to fully-neutral is made, the battle for Languedoc may even be dynamic (e.g., the GRN and [C] arrange the battle for some location, with new OORP agreement coming to power, depending on the results). I can already imagine the battle for Quillan (if [C] loose, they'd have to retreat to the mine field and Reunion).

P.P.S.: I know that my previous statement concerning dynamic battles may sound too idealistic or naive, but it might be worth to try.

Honestly, that's what I thought when I was setting up these events last year.

There were two really big things that needed to happen - the Gallia invasion, and the destruction of Toledo. We set both of them up and let people have fun for a full weekend doing just that.

But since it does sound like things are progressing a bit slower than anticipated, I'd say to go for it. Allow the Gallic forces to invade into the Taus, but they cannot progress into Leeds or Kusari proper. There needs to be some editing of things available on Reunion and in Languadoc. OR you simply make the IMG neutral to the GRN (instead of the Council) and then the GRN can base out of Orkney - they just need to remember to dock there for regens once they get through the minefield. (That was their re-spawn point in the event.)

That reminds me, some of the role-play regarding the latter needs to go into effect. We've started, but the gears are not on yet.

great idea - if 4.86 is released soon

bad idea - if 4.86 takes too long to be released

its a great stepping stone that prepares for all that happens in 4.86 .... hope its not exhausted when 4.86 really comes.
