Please tell me why I should ever EVER give a trader a chance?

Lets see:

Choice 1: Pirate in LF and have a chance to die from trader and not make money...

Choice 2: Pirate in GB, make sure trader has no chance so that he pays and I get out alive...

Really mate. I want you to think things through. YOU KNOW WHAT I WOULD LOVE? Traders with escorts... AKA Traders with a 'chance.' |Convoy| Is a good example of smart traders, I've never successfully gotten them...

All a trader has to do to survive is be smart. If I'm pirating in a GB, and you know pirates are doing it, then make the logical decision to hire an escort. Its cheaper and can save you oh so much...

I know you get frustrated because GB's (or pirates in general) have bigger guns, I've been in your position. You have to adjust to the situations (eg. use escorts/put up bounties/ect.) just like I've had to adjust to more and more military coming after me (eg upgrade armor/get some fellas to join me/ect.)

Remember, you can always learn from every situation, and learn how to effectives avoid bad situations in the future. Its not gona be as easy as *pew pew rocks, lulz my way to sell point*... Not as long as I'm around that is, I want people to apply their mind to each situation.

idk, that's my mind at least...

Cheers

EDIT:

However, now that I think about it, destroying the cargo certainly seems like the only way for the trader to "win" in that scenario, assuming you're not within range of a base.

Given the choice between:
- Pirate gets all the cargo (trader loses all, and is now stuck in the middle of nowhere with no cargo)
- Pirate gets a blue message and 3k of the cargo (trader loses all, and is back on a planet to continue trading)
- Pirate gets a blue message (trader loses all, and is back on a planet to continue trading)

The trader loses in all of the cases, but at least in the third one the pirate doesn't get anything tangible out of it.
Now thats just plain old oorp logic right there... Granted you are correct. But what trader, inRP, would drop his cargo/destroy it. Then let himself die. That'd be one crazy-minded trader...

Can't you, you know like loose sometimes? Loosing in a computer game doesn't really hurt that much.
I try to win when trading but sometimes I just have to accept a defeat and move on.

Yes, that Seafalcon's Woodpecker.

You will have a hard time pirating in a LF anyone who doesn't surrender unless forced to. Solo LFs just don't have the punch for destroying big vessels.

The "Respawn" button sure ruins the InRP sense of self preservation, huh?
