I hate the spammage of all those big ships...

but prices for the bigger ones are waaaay to high

nothing over 10 mil i would say

VHF 200.000
Bomber 400.000
Gunboat 1mil
Cruiser 3mil
Battlecruiser 5mil
Battleship 8-10 mil

Grindlancer?

No.

A certain death penalty suggestion. - Anonymous User - 08-30-2011

additional to my other post.

why?

players should be attracted to fly smaller ships as well.

or just make caps unflyable without escort (big battlemachines are not meant to fly through space lonely)

+ (sadly) the bigger part of cap. pilots on the server are bad roleplayers/RP like fools in my opinion

no faction/house would give big expensive war manchines to idiot

having inRP expensive/powerfull stuff should require RP knowledge and skill

since there is nobody to controll that... keep the numbers in general lower with such stuff

edit// some stuff added

Numbers are not for me to tell, I am just showing the basic concept. Sadly most take the numbers I show for granted in the system and use it again the idea. Either way, I knew the community will split in half over this.

Also unless you restrict battleships widescale...well if you do, youll lose alot of players. Factionized battleships, hell no, unless all including unofficial factions can have them.

Also, sometimes you just RP, but some weeeweees come along and shoot ya. Pay for that? HELL NO

I'm sure factions with battleships could have battleships if they could afford them. Sure, unofficial factions would be able to have them; what this is proposing is not a rule-based Forumlancer approach to BS restriction, it would be an RP-based, in-game, genuine approach. If you had five or so buddies in an unofficial faction who thought "Hey, this is fun. Let's club together some money and buy/maintain a Battleship!", that would be fine. As long as you weren't a faction of space-hobos living in a shared Starflier and your RP supported getting the resources to buy a battleship, you could go out and buy a damn battleship. If you can afford to keep it.

It would also help strengthen RP by making Battleships rarer, and more valuable, by dicouraging players from diving them into the sun and having them rebuilt the next day.

' Wrote:Think bout the players more. I wouldnt pay 50 millions as death penalty? What for? That I had fun?

You'd pay 50 Million for the cost of a replacement, instead of 500 Million.
You could just get a fighter instead...

Even better! 10% death penalty is 45 Million, much more affordable, less QQ more PewPew.

I'm not trying to murder the Capwhore population, I LOVE Battleships. They're big and awesome and PEWPEWPEW and make for some great RP situations. I'd have 10 if I could. I just think that if I get them destroyed it should sting. Call me a masochist, but I just think that... Eh... You know what? The more I think about this the more unsure I am that it's a good idea.

I need to think about this over a ham sandwich and beer.

You mean the "Have fun, the most you can lose is virtual imaginary currency numbers that you had spent hours of real time collecting" philosophy, right?

Yeah, that's the one. It's funny, whenever I looked at that I always thought "This is costing me precious hours of my life", but then I remembered... You're playing a video game. If you cared that much about wasting hours of your life you wouldn't be here.

Look at the mess you made! :P

Gamer doesn't equal no-lifer. That's one key point you're missing.

Just because someone has 2 hours free every day to spend on FL doesn't mean they don't have a life... Therefor, nerfing money making methods over and over and over again, and kicking up all the costs of any of these "imaginary pixels" which you have to spend your real life time to buy, would make the game less enjoyable for the part of this community who can't put their whole day on playing the game.

I'm not talking about myself. I have a good couple of billions stored on my bank accounts, which would last me a lifetime even if dying costs cash, cause most of my chars are fighters anyways, and I don't have anything larger than a gunboat. However... I consider others around me, unlike you.

If capitals weren't so ridiculously balanced in comparison to snubs, I'd say absolutely we should have this. Cost does not balance power, upkeep can though.

It isn't your numbers people are against. Its the concept itself. Your concept would force people to grind for credits, just like people in WoW are forced to do, this will result in less interaction because people on trade ships will do whatever it takes to avoid being pirated. Pirates will increase their demands because they know that death costs more. Lawful presence will drop because being a cop or a navy dude now costs you more money.

You didn't fully think your idea through and take into account all of the affects it would have on the game and player base.
