Er, I don't quite understand how this was anywhere close to perfectly sound RP.
Quote:We had Bunshu, rogues, corsais, outcasts, xenos etc.. all coming peacefully over manhattan orbit?
It is possible that they might put aside their differences over big things (like a massive Nomad attack or something), but the funeral of the kids of a simple trader who they don't even know? That's pretty far fetched. Even more far fetched is that the police let what was basically a political demonstration on a grand scale happen in their capital city. Why the heck would the police let deadly enemies of the state go free, especially when they are congregated en masse?
Just because a bunch of people wrote "Opening transmission...we're so sorry, we're gonna come to your funeral...end transmission"doesn't mean that it was good roleplay.
It just means that people did it.

Short version from a newbie who wasn't on site: Liberty lawfulls tightened the screws a bit and enforced a couple of more regulations (arms dealing licenses being the drop that spilled the barrel), which sent traders and independants up the barricades. The peaceful protest ended in a fiasco when 'someone' started shooting, and several people ended up dead, including Brokenbacks children.
