Salve!

I am currently the only bomber pilot assigned to the CFC. As such my priorites lie with recon and data collection as well as the default defensive priorities all Order personnel follow. Today these responsibilities intermingled as a nomad morph was spotted near Toledo.

At the time there were significant Order forces assembled - primarily capital ships - but engaged in combat drills and unsuitable for chasing a small nomad through the asteroid fields anyway.
The nomad stayed at the edge of our sensors, so I began a search pattern in the general direction of the Alaska jumphole. The nomad was clearly aware of this as it kept its distance. After moving out of range, however, I was able to circle around and trap it between Toledo and myself, finally catching up at a distance of about 10 km from our world and the orbiting fleet.

Having been caught, the nomad was found to be peacable and even docile, though it was careful to keep a larger asteroid in between our craft, to obstruct the line of fire. In accordance with the CFC's scientific goals, I successfully contacted the nomad morph. Summary of the contact below. Contamination report below. Engagement report follows.



Engagement

After the nomad began showing signs of hostility - no weapons fire at this stage - I requested fighter assistance from Toledo. Agent Callister_Andrews quickly responded and joined me.
When the communication became too intense I decided to terminate it by eliminating the Nomad, declaring weapons free.
Andrews provided excellent cover while the morph, far more manoeuverable than my craft, chased me. Thus, after a comparatively brief firefight and with moderate damage sustained by my ship, we were able to subdue the hostile.
Unfortunately, we were left without any useable sample materials or even debris of any kind; with its veil destroyed, the morph was vaporised when struck by a nuclear mine I had deployed.



Contact / Intelligence

Prior to the engagement, myself and, later on, agent Andrews, were able to communicate with the morph for several minutes. As is usual, contact and content is sketchy, but still of potential interest. In summary:
The morph came to deliver a warning - this might explain its initially peaceful demeanour. In essence, it was a threat against our - mankinds - continued expansion into what the nomads consider their territory.

The same said Slomon-K'hara can, it seems, see the future and has, according to its messenger, seen the death of mankind.
The contact was terminated forcefully at this point. A powerful, even painful vision of a burning planet was sent. Not wanting to risk a loss of control or permanent damage, I hence gave the order to engage the nomad.
Our intent being realised, the nomad took flight, opening fire almost immediately. The distraction was enough to weaken the link. Shortly thereafter we gained the upper hand. See Engagement.

I would like to note that, as we exited the nebula on our way home, I recognised the world shown to us. It was Toledo. Burnt to a cinder. I would also like to note that most nomads, safe for those within human society, are generally unfamiliar with the concepts of deceit and misinformation.
Truthfulness aside, the nomads may well be convinced that they can, and maybe even have to, torch human worlds and perhaps entire systems including our home. Even if they overestimate their capabilities in this regard, this would still suggest the possibility and likelihood of a mass invasion by the nomads.


Contamination

Given the duration and intensity of our contact, both agent Andrews and myself agreed to execute quarantine protocols. I am writing this report on a pad in an isolation chamber of one of the containment facilities on Toledo, hoping the medical staff will submit it in my name.
My wingman was cleared by medics aboard the Isis shortly after our engagement. His exposure, it seems, was not as severe.
I should be able to resume my duties by tomorrow, so far there is no indication of any permanent side-effects from this encounter.

[color=#FFFFFF]Well, today was certainly interesting.

I was on my way to Omega 50 to pick up a CLI-11000 "Arrow" Light Interceptor from the zoners.

Along the way, i ran into the very kind Commander Axel Thomas in Omega-41 and had a nice chat.

But that is not really what i wanted to talk about, when i got to Omega-49 i received an emergency transmission from three secondary fleet order pilots in Dublin about a nomad attack there.

I knew my craft was not outfitted for combat, but i quickly altered my course to assist. When i arrived i found a mess of Armed Forces, Hunters, And Order Agents and a few nomad fighters. Some people were just spectating for some reason but i went in to assist the order agents. In the fire fight that followed i was able to assist in damaging one nomad fighter that resulted in it's termination a few seconds later. The nomads seem to be advanced in their maneuvering abilities as well as their target acquisition, their nimbleness outmatched that of even the Order Nymph fighters.

Well long story short, i fled when i knew my craft couldn't take much more and headed for Omega-50 where i picked up the fighter I ordered. I will be using this vessel for transportation, scouting out possible astronomic subjects for study, and if you would like, reconnaissance missions.

My research will be restricted to ground based experiments for now though, since i do not believe the Order has any research classed vessels yet.

Greetings pilots,

I decided to take a late night shift (or at least, late night on the side of Planet Toledo that I live on). Nothing interesting happened though. Every Omicron system that I patrolled through (Minor, Delta, Kappa, 74, and Theta) was empty except for the rookie Hunter and Nomad patrols that were dispatched easily by my guns. I only stepped out of my ship once: To pick up some food at Freeport XV and bring it to the Battleship Isis. Hopefully that'll ease up some of our resource strains. Afterwards, I decided to patrol through Omicron-92 and Tohoku. Again, nothing to report except for the rookie Nomad patrols. Afterwards, I came home and now here I am sitting in front of my computer and typing up this report. I would've docked on Ryuku Base, but the crew there informed me that some of their docking bays were being repaired (//I'm hostile with the Blood Dragons, so I can't dock there despite Operation Blossoming Cherry Tree).

Subject: Battle Report

Greetings pilots,

Unlike last night, pilots were all over Omicron Minor today, including the Bounty Hunters Guild Core. I launched from Planet Toledo to find several BHGC ships pounding away at several Secondary pilots. Naturally, I jumped in to intercept them. Unfortunately, I could not stop the destruction of one of the Secondary ships known as ".ANONYMOUS." However, we did manage to take out the Aquila. I also managed to shoot the Decus hard enough to compel him to flee. With two fighters gone and only two more ships, one of which was a Hunter Gunship, remaining, the others fled and we pursued them. However, it was a trap. We were met with two Hunter Battleships, which quickly decimated our two capital ships, the OCV-75|Galactica and the Kefaya. The remaining ships managed to return to Minor. At this point, I contacted the Primary Fleet. However, by the time the Primary Fleet arrived, the Hunters had retreated.

Once the Primary Fleet was assembled, we decided to launch a retaliatory strike against the Hunters, but they docked when we arrived. Instead, we decided to head for Bretonia because of reports of a Nomad Battleship attacking miners in Dublin. On the way, we met two Rheinland scouts, one of which was most likely infected, although the other Rheinlander didn't realize this. We also noticed that the infected pilot was carrying 16 Order pilots. We told him to hand them over, but he refused, saying that we were not in the Omicrons and had no authority here. Of course, we countered that by saying that he was not in Rheinland and had no authority here. In the end, we were forced to fight. However, because we were all in bombers trying to chase a Nomad Battleship, we were ineffective against the two Wraith fighters. I went down quickly, but Rear Admiral Duke managed to take out one of the pilots in a last ditch mine spam. Afterwards, the admiral heard reports of a Hunter Battleship and went off to find it with his own capital ship. As I helped him search, I heard reports from Lieutenant Rogers that he had escaped from the infected Rheinlander, but not before severely crippling his ship. Afterwards, I received a message from Toledo and was forced to return home while Rear Admiral Duke continued the search for the Hunter Battleship.

Here I have few days action report...
We managed to kill one mako (sigil) , and one BHG-Core tagged ship. Yesterday, BH destroyer with our pilots and nomads on board was spoted near freeport 11. I asked him to relise nomads and our pilots, but ship just docked with freeport.
And better news. Construction of another Order gunship "CV-Tanis" will be complited after short time. Im requesting permission to take comand over this ship. Using bomber sometimes makes my ship to easy target. So I would like to use this gunship as my main ship, and bomber use only if minor got invaded by caps.

Salve!

Usually CFC-based reports are rare and few, since the CFC is only drafted into combat in emergency situations.
This report, however, is the product of an encounter with a Liberty Navy fleet in our realm. My ship was the only craft available and hence I scouted the fleet as best I could, using the modified CFC Sekhmet that is assigned to me.


Initial contact:

The fleet first came to our attention as the CFC science vessel was on the return leg from an operation in Omicron Major. Being exhausted from nomad harassment, and bearing valuable materials, orders were given to deploy my ship and return to Isis at once, so as to protect our asset and our research materials.


Tracking:

With the Atalante having returned home, I turned towards the Alaska jumphole as a logical starting point for a search. Soon, however, sensor systems around the alien gate picked up the presence of the navy ships.
By the time I reached the gate, the fleet had already jumped into Omicron Major. After confirming again that no reinforcements would be available, I followed them.


Hostile Operations:

The fleet remained only briefly in Major, less than half an hour. Whether this was intentional or a response to my presence is unclear. I kept my distance, except for brief flybys to obtain more detailed scans of the enemy ships.
The objective, as stated by the navy commander, was ostensibly reasearch. As the ships did not approach the Dyson sphere itself at any point*, I surmise that they had entered the system only to collect nomad brains for their own purposes. Further details were not forthcoming, unsurprisingly.


Combat:

Any combat was limited. I deliberately avoided attacking any navy ships, though was hit by some minimal weapons fire and a surprisingly large number of cruise disruptors.
The nomads were indiscriminate, however, and forced me into a number of firefights, causing extensive damage to my craft. The final engagement with nomads occured in Minor just outside the gate and involved a large number of fighters, assassins and a gunboat.


Retreat:

As stated, the fleet did not stay long. Scans show that only around 40 nomad brains were collected. I also spotted a number of human pilots, mostly criminals, and twelve Order pilots. Given the circumstances, there was nothing I could do for them, except report their capture and location.
After jumping back to Minor, I was caught up in a rather lengthy engagement and was unable to track the withdrawing navy fleet.
It is now confirmed that they returned to Alaska. They have not left the system since.


Fleet composition:

Five ships, as follows:
Four cruisers: LNS-Himalaya, LNS-Ishimura, LNS-Longsword, LNS-Bainbridge
One fighter craft: [LN]-Jorzza.Clark


Conclusions: **

Liberty is apparently commencing new research programmes into Nomads and / or Nomad technology. Given the aggressive stance of Liberty one can speculate that the objectives will be aimed towards new offensive systems, as opposed to more defensive capabilities such as the detection of nomads within human hosts, shielding, etc.
While it is possible that the presence of an Order bomber may have triggered a hasty retreat of the fleet, we consider it far more likely that the research is in its inital stages, thus requiring only few samples, at least for now.
We can expect to see more forays of the navy into Nomad - and Order - territory as they attempt to secure more samples for themselves. This new work is obviously of great importance to their military leaders, as evidenced by the large fleet the Navy committed to retrieve such a small sample volume.
However, this is not a lone incident. In recent days, a number of navy ships have been spotted in and around the vicinity of the alien gate, all reportedly there to harvest nomad brains. The large fleet deployed in this instance may also be a response to the expulsion of these collector vessels by Order forces.

It is probably in our interest to hamper the Libertonian research efforts further. This may be achieved by tightly monitoring research groups already working with Nomads or Nomad-derived materials, which are not already directly under our influence.
Some of our undercover field agents should also be alerted with regard to this matter so that they may ascertain for us
- The aims and scope of this new programme as well as its progress, including any possible threat to the Order and human population in general
- Any suppliers of Nomad samples, so that we may, if possible, intercede to cut their scientists off

Utmost caution would be needed, however. If the Navy or government become aware of our interest, security measures on this already secret project will only be increased. From the above report we can deduce that this project is carried out in Alaska, and will hence not be easy to access.


The CFC will continue to interrupt navy sampling missions whenever the opportunity presents itself. However, as a chiefly scientific operation our means to this end are highly limited. I would advise the Order High Command and intelligence services to keep a close eye on this matter.
Even if we cannot break the Navy in their stride, we may still benefit from whatever insights they might gain into our foe. A close is watch is needed.
