@Marcus - I think the issue was elevated more so by the unwillingness of Junkers to properly register their bases; understandably, because they were facing possible discovery of their illegal activity and the legal repercussions that would ensue.

So, at first, the Junkers decided to approach the issue from a "hey....you don't really have any presence in this system, so why don't you let us buy the system from you to get out from under your thumb" to Bretonia. Bretonia very understandably says no.

However, the REAL issue was never really so much about Junker sovereignty in Inverness so much as it is really about how contraband on bases is RPed.

As stated, the sovereignty issue is entirely separate, or even irrelevant if we can extend RP conventions on contraband to PoBs that we currently.give to NPCs

I didn't say ignore, I said prioritize. You can scratch your butt once you are on your feet safe and sound.

Staying at my own analogy, because I don't think yours could be a proper parallel to this situation. Contrary to WW2, where Britain has not been invaded, had no fights on it's own lands (as far as I can tell, there were failed attempts at air strikes by Germany), thus police and hostile military "ZoI" did not collide, here we have Bretonia getting it's territory taken, local police and hostile naval ZoIs kinda overlap. Yes, I like analogies if they fit the situation, yours did not for the reasons mentioned above.

And the Terms of Reference you quoted has nothing in it against police engaging hostile naval units they encounter, it would kinda fit the

Quote:As the BPA is also responsible for the safety of the public, we will engage pirates, terrorists, and other enemies only when they are a threat to us and the public.
part.

Again, prioritize.

Well, we can agree to disagree on this instead of going backwards and forwards over old ground.

When there is nothing going on, GRN aren't invading, Corsairs are pirating/invading, the Mollys are in their Pubs getting drunk and the Smugglers have settled down for the night, what am I to do?

Quote:As the BPA is also responsible for the safety of the public, we will engage pirates, terrorists, and other enemies only when they are a threat to us and the public.

And seeing as you picked this portion from a whole quote, I will stick with it. Note the highlighted portions. Threat to us and the Public. The GRN being in Leeds is neither a direct threat to the BPA or the Public. You will never find any Bretonian NPC presence, in Leeds, except for the occasional BAF Fighter.

So in the end I do prioritise my job as a BPA Officer. I hardly go Inverness but every now and then I swing past and have a look.

99.9999% of the Smugglers I have found have been in Cambridge, New London, Manchester so hence this is where I will be generally found. But seeing as Bretonia encompasses a few more Systems I will visit them from time to time as would be expected of a Police Officer.
