RE: Espionage - Omicron - 02-14-2015 If they're going to take away cloaking 'espionage', we might as well remove cloaks altogether instead of gradually nerfing them into non-existence. You can't stay invisible for too long nowadays can you? RE: Espionage - Fluffyball - 02-14-2015 Well, if you are going to nerf cloaks or remove them from the game, make sure you can refund all these cloaks, since 150M and up don't just come up out of nowhere. =^.^= I'm starting to think that I am the only player here who is just... As I wouldn't use cloaks for "easy trade", for example. RE: Espionage - Hadley - 02-14-2015 As someone who only briefly had an unlimited cloak as a nomad, I think that having cloaks is indeed very problematic. Take unlimited cloaks for anyone, be it only officials or everyone. They let you follow people around and spy on them, literally stalk them, looking for rule violations, warning other players of them, annoy them, and there's nothing that can be done. It's a tool to abuse almost every aspect of the game. Take limited cloaks (or jump drives), it just feels wrong that every pirate and every smuggler in Sirius can have this technology. Cloaks should almost entirely be removed from the mod. Give them only to nomads and order, both in a limited fuel-consuming way. So that every type of ship (from smallest to largest) can cruise about 15k so they can use it as a tool for surprise attacks if they are well organized, but don't make it usable as a safe-escape mechanism or stalking tool. Oh... and also make a power drain like for cruising for cloaks. Same for jumps. Give it to carriers so they can carry snubs fast, but somehow make escape-jumps and jump-trading impossible. They are niee ideas, but they just break other game mechanics if they are to versatile tools. RE: Espionage - oZoneRanger - 02-14-2015 Simple solution....Disable scanning while cloaked....this way you can see your enemy and his movements, but not know what he is carrying... apologies if this has been suggested.... RE: Espionage - nOmnomnOm - 02-14-2015 Um how about we dont remove them. K |
