Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Captain - 02-10-2011 My opinion about this, Mollys aren't supposed to be as one group, vanilla suggested it, Discovery evolved it into realism. and by the disco rules, the Molly council is the main faction, leaded by those in charge of the clans. the idea of this map separation is a start to get independant dublin, (wich will never happen thanks to the ever evolving lore) and just what linkus said, there are mollys who like to mine and such ( =MMC=), there are mollys who like to collect credits from miners ( [Garda] ) and those who are acting like bastards ( [MS]. ) and others ofcourse, each trying to do their own thing. oh, and about the non shooting thing, it was kinda a convience for both groups ( baf and mollys) to deal with bigger problems. and if yuo think I wrote too much then think of this, Stop whining and if you think you can do it better as a clan, then try it, tough contact me or linkus on forehand. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Ayem - 02-10-2011 Thank goodness O-7 still has das Wilde. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Dieter Schprokets - 02-11-2011 Quote:If I be right, I'm assuming Dieter is looking for this to go into the mod lore as canon. Nope. Also, IMG could likely ask and get permission to bring fighters and bombers to Dublin... A big capship got a no, but snubbys? Try asking. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - AeternusDoleo - 02-11-2011 We don't ask about fighters, bombers and gunboats Dieter. We simply bring those, and in adequate numbers - they're our miner escorts. Problems occur when Sairs/Hogosha show up with a solaris-heavy osiris or two with fighter escort, which has happened twice in the past two weeks. You -need- a slugger against those osirises, since bombers can't do the job with a heavy fighter escort, gunboats go down fast in mass-fighter encounters, and launching your own fighterswarm ends up with a solaris-powered stream of blue messages. Both cases I believe were caused with BAF retreating to Hood instead of Essex. I guess IMG will have to start turning BAF away in combat situations to drive a point home - Give us nothing to defend with? Then no safe haven for you. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - MrHeadphones - 02-11-2011 Quote:Call me crazy but is much more logical for Mollys if they go dead hostile with Bretonia to help the Kusari or Gallia in 4.86 against the Bretonians if they promise them to help achieving independence. I'd have to disagree with that. The mollys in the discovery RP set down by Igiss have aided Bretonia against Kusari, and by now Kusari probably think that they're more "honourless dogs" to be crushed. Gallia, similarly, wants to wipe out the Bretonians. I doubt it matters to them that the mollys aren't exactly friendly to Bretonia, they still descended from the original colonists on board the sleeper ship Bretonia, and so should be wiped out like the rest. This, to me, indicates that the mollys would have their best interests served by causing the war to drag out, while Bretonia is too busy fighting Kusari and Gallia to really do much to protect the miners, since if Gallia or Kusari wins, there's a fresh force in the area with no major enemies (and possibly also a huge, fresh military in the case of Gallia, depending on Corsair-Gallic relations), who would be more than capable of obliterating the mollys, and similarly if Bretonia wins, the mollys lose out against a gradually rebuilding fleet full of veteran pilots. All in all, by dragging out the war, and offering enough assistance to Bretonia for them to survive, they would keep the near-anarchy in Dublin going. Of course, the clan groupings of the mollys could easily have different motivations: The mining corporations, while quick to chase off BMM from their territories, could end up almost friendly with Bretonia due to their source of funding not involving piracy, wheras groups like the Separatists would actively go against Bretonia except when common enemies like Kusari or corsairs got involved, although they would probably leave the Bretonians to die if they thought the remaining kusarians would be too weak to pose much of a threat to the mollys themselves. Treating the mollys like a single grouping would be similar to treating every irishman as a member of the IRA, to take a real world example. I believe that if a "guideline rule" like this ever made it into an RP section of the forum, each molly group should have an individual say on it rather than an overall molly council saying "this is how all mollys will act". It gives a certain amount of uncertainty about whether that molly you see was really just escorting a molly supply convoy or "rerouting" one meant for Bretonia, and leads to more interesting interactions than just "he's a molly in our area. Shoot him", or "he's a Bretonian in the neutral zone. No shooting but maybe a few insults". Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Mark_Brown - 02-11-2011 DIETER - The Garda and MMC will Mark there Vote Tonight as a Whole will be the vote of all Members of Each Faction Both Factions will vote the same. Also AS BAF I Agree to this Regards BELLCK ALSO: We would like the 10k Around the Hood placed in Molly Space to ensure IMG's Safe House (Battleship Hood) Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Dart - 02-11-2011 ' Wrote:I would like to second this. I would love to see more BMM| escorts and fighter patrols, maybe even striking into Molly space. After all, it's BMM who is the Mollies top enemy. And vice versa. Sort of like the relationship between the Hackers, Interspace/IND/Ageira, and the LN> Actually, exactly like that. Cept less general crime, a strict no cardamine policy and more ass-kicking.This is actually in the works... but we currenty dont have the infrastructure for it. if you wanna be a part of it. you better know how to RP it. Otherwise git in your own lolwut ship:P As for d7 i still think its absurdly unbalanced. If you want to see BMM mine there, the molly GB escorts on d7 MUST LEAVE as it stands any molly trying to mine there has the best possible mining environment. this needs to change. as for my stance (yes im in BMM-) and its BMM- not BMM| as for the general idea, I dont like a zones of control. If anything this must be a RP recommendation. If mollys never accessed the general mining fields, mollys wouldn't be able to pirate at all. this makes no sense so they obviously must be able to pass this imaginary border second, the Mollys are criminals. and to respect a ZOI they need to agree to it. Why would they? What i would like everyone to agree on: is that Graves Station should be a no-pirate zone. This is the only lawful station in dublin that has no ample automated defense, giving room for pirates to sit in the front door and pirate anyone who comes out. this doesn't exist for essex, it doesn't exist for Hood because pirates will be blasted away. Officially I would like all the space in the graves field to be a anti-pirate gank zone. because giving the RP BAF| is forcing on miners not being allowed to use Essex as a trade hub (Rightly so) this needs to happen. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Tobi44 - 02-11-2011 I'll have to agree with Dart BMM miners are to vulnerable to pirates at graves. Example: "Me sitting at graves outcast gunboat rams into me shouting "i want 5 million from you" I turn around and say "hell no" outcast starts shooting I manage to dock at graves without being killed" The point is I was lucky but the pirates can do that, so you can definatly say graves is under powered for protecting miners. Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Linkus - 02-11-2011 If this a call to arms to get this popped into the mod lore, yet anyway, it's something we can quite easily say yay or nay to and not worry too much. I'm really a horrible Molly player. On most of my characters I usually feel terrible for pirating and generally taking credits, or time really, off people. Yet on a normal Dubliner Molly, I'll happily rape the living daylights out of everyone on the Barghests' scanners. Seriously, Sprolf did bad things to [MR] members O.O As a La Tene lad, I would never even consider such a proposal due to my upright principles. Unless said principles were..diverted by some compensation. As just a Molly player, I share the same concerns as others in terms of piracy etc. Also just noting that the [MR] once had Bretonia at a point where we were going to secure all of Dublin, except the Jumpgate and Graves, for us. Gotta love diplomacy:P Dublin Zones of Control/Sovereignity Discussion - Ayem - 02-11-2011 Regarding the "safety" afforded by Graves station. Think of the IMG at Java. Think of Molly miners and Arranmore. Think of Solarius Station. Graves is actually -better- defended than those, due to the extreme number of missile emplacements scattered around the field. BMM have access to a BAF battleship if they want to hide. Just don't complain when position ourselves so that the Essex shoots through you. |
