The 101st Ghosts of Razgriz - mrnickles55 - 11-29-2008
My name is Carlos Carmeleto, son of Ramone Carmeleto, who was the 41st descendent of Juelz Carmeleto, the owner of the 55th cryogenic stasis cell on the Hispania. I am about 6'7" and 200 pounds, I have Red hair and green eyes as my mother who I never met was a molly. In my life I was raised by my father in our small starflier until one day he let me take the controls outside of Cali base.
I flew around the system until I was attacked by 3 Bountyhunter Hammerheads, 2 of which I eventually killed. The third one escaped. After My father and I returned to Cali, my father was assassinated by the bountyhunter who had escaped. On his deathbed he asked me to kill his assassin before going to malta to inherit my fortune, then he handed me our family mask that bore the symbol of my family, 55 (nickles = 5 cents, hence the name mrnickles. This initiated a 19-year hunt across Serious for my father's killer. Eventually I trapped him and tortured him on mahatten, now I plan to return to Malta and join the Honored Ranks of the Razgriz.
This is just the summary, I really wish I had seen the "1-2 paragraphs" rule before I wrote a book. It's on my profile if you want a good read.
1. I want to join because the outcasts numerous allies and enemies tend to pay off in many interesting battles and missions. The Razgriz seem to be the best of the outcast factions.

Greetings recruiter. I'm Carlos Sanchez, 25 years old. I personally don't have much to say about myself, but I've sent you a copy of my Autobiography.
--I grew up here on Corsica. My parents were transferred away from Corsica and I was left here as a young child. I've been that one kid passed around - nobody really wants to adopt him. But for a while, I've watched countless Outcast ships fly out of this massive shipyard. For long have I yearned to fly alongside the Ghosts of Razgriz.
I've spent the last few years in basic combat training, but it's too easy. I've flown to the Captana and back alone, and survived. I'm eager to learn, and to fight. Besides just being a pilot, I understand strategy fairly well. I've never really planned any massive battles, but a few nomad attack groups emerging from the black hole have been stopped due to my skills. I don't have any relationships of any kind, so I'd be a good, objective choice for the Guard.

1) Why the 101st Outcast Guard?
I wish to expand my piloting skills, attempt attacks on Omicron Gamma, explore Outcast space, and study the various different things in Outcast space, like the black hole, cardamine, and asteroid fields.
2) What are two things that you enjoy doing in real-life besides playing freelancer?
Reading for one. I read quite often and enjoy it. Various games entertain me as well. Really though, I may not look it, but I can be quite the social person. I have some very close friends in real life.
3) What would the last sentence of your autobiography be?

Despite the bad sides of life, I've enjoyed it for what it's worth.
4) If you could be a fictional character (from a film, book, comic, etc...), who would it be, and why?

I'd be Fang from the Maximum Ride series, intelligent, strong, cunning, a bit of a goofball. Well balanced - closer to what I aspire to be than I am already.

Short History Lesson on Kindra
Born on Malta to a maltese mother and a bretonian father, Kindra grew up without experiencing what it was like to have a real family as her mother, a researcher of solar events, rarely had time to spend with the young girl and her father remained in Bretonia with Kindra's older brother, who had been born before their mother migrated back to Malta. This resulted in a lonely and alienated childhood for the young girl, causing her to instead concentrate on improving herself physically and mentally, studying in multiple areas and planning to follow in her mother's footsteps. Over time, Kindra matured into an independent woman, no longer concerned with her mother's wishes, choosing instead to learn more about the politics of Sirius and it's people.
That was before her father contacted her mother saying that he no longer wanted to be responsible for Kindra's brother and that he now lived on his own, before she was forced into a rigged sleeper chamber and transported to Bretonia only to wake up and find that her brother was going to put her back into stasis once he hooked a knowledge database up to the pod. She understood why, but that didn't make accepting the fact that if she didn't sleep until her brother could afford to support her, he wouldn't have enough money left over to keep her cardamine addiction in check.
So she waited, learning while she slept of all the things Sirius held. It's people, it's places, and how to survive it's hardships.

1) Why the 101st Outcast Guard?
I have experience in other games with factions and groups along the same lines of the 101st and the Outcasts, the playtype and style has always attracted me at some point or another. I think that the 101st will be able to offer me plenty of great roleplay opportunities as well as developing a sense of family or friends that I try to look for in both gaming and real life groups. Over the past few months I've been able to hire more employees, so I have more time to spend being part of a larger player group, and I feel the 101st has both the right story backing it, and opportunity for roleplay that I'm looking to spend part of my newfound time on.
2) What are two things that you enjoy doing in real-life besides playing freelancer?
Playing rugby and reading/discussing science fiction novels with my wife.
3) What would the last sentence of your autobiography be?

4) If you could be a fictional character (from a film, book, comic, etc...), who would it be, and why?
I've always loved Henrey Dorsett Case, from William Gibson's "Neuromancer". Case is a great example of how even when we're stripped down to our most basic wants and needs, and everything is falling apart, we can regain our humanity and self respect. The fact that he's a cyber cowboy and experiences cyberspace in one of the ways Gibson created it (and how many people still imagine it today), with such a unique sense of time and space, makes me a bit jealous of him as well.
