It's a sign of Rheinland's growing weakness that they must lean on the KNF. Three fighters down by my hand, Krieger, and next time more to come. The convoy will be disrupted, the cruiser will not be made!

Ugh, one of the RHAs was jerking around soooo bad. I got maybe one, two hits on him? He musta been some pilot, because he was moving like an NPC Legionnaire!:P

I think we all experienced lag one way or the other. That was a lot of ships in one place. Quite a furball.

Yeah... I had extreme lag on the start.. then it got better. Still lag all the way...

Well I was wondering if the transport should not be "forced" to stay with the fight until it's over... since as we saw it was really easy for them to get away. The 3-4 transports shooting around also make it much more interesting.. since they can hurt people.

If not then we should change the "can't engage transports" a bi".

Or don't allow them to dock with a TL after it was disrupted... going on impulse only.

All in all first option (forcing then to stay with the fight) is maybe best.

Also I didn't really understand that KNF should continue with the convoy.. but I bet they were unhappy because they had no action on their side.

EDIT: Oh and the time- mess should be cleared somehow... give an example of current times instead maybe? You know current London time/ NY time/ LA time.

Yes, this is one of the things that got out of hand. I had it planned for them to stick around, but then the group got separated and I lost control of it. I think that next time we should stick to the original plan, with the transports sticking around more.

I think the first option is better, really. Also, the Big Dragons are an amazing sight in the convoy, really respectable.

Well, they deserved some action after all the trouble. Too bad the bandits in Kusari just let the convoy slip through.

Hey, it's not my fault that the people in the world can't agree with a time standard. What's the point on having six different time "standards"? GMT, EST, EDT, MST, MDT, KST... (Argh) Not much of a standard if each people places the zero over their belly buttons. Also, for the British guys, if you're in DST you're not on GMT anymore, you're on GMT+1. Otherwise you shift the whole world just because you want to drink your tea earlier. *shakes fist*

Anyway, I'm considering the natural GMT time, as in "without adjustments". Next time I'll post a link to an official event clock. That way no one will get confused.

Ouch, what a bummer! Sorry, man.

Well, I'm about to schedule the next event. Probably this next Sunday, a bit later (I'm thinking 2 hours) probably. I'm still not sure what to make of the rules to improve everything. If you guys have anything else to add, please do so.

Second shipping event - Sunday, May 25th 2008 - 8 PM GMT (3 PM EST)
(The event it going by this clock. That's the current GMT time. London is on GMT+1 due to DST.)


Roles:
1. Transports: The transports convoy leaves Yokohama Shipyard* (New Tokyo) en route to the Alster Shipyard (Hamburg) carrying Hull Panels (70%) and Optronics (30%). The convoy will take the following route: New Tokyo / Honshu / Sigma-13 / Frankfurt / New Berlin / Hamburg.
* The two goods aren't sold in the Shipyard. Ship Hull Panels may be acquired at Freeport 6 (Tau-29) or Yanagi (Sigma-13); Optronics may be acquired at Planet Honshu (Honshu). For the sake of the story, the transports may buy these items elsewhere and then rendezvous at the Yokohama Shipyard.

2. Escorts (RM-RFP/KNF-KSP): Kusarian escorts take the convoy as far as the border of Frankfurt (Fulda border station), where it is transfered to the Rheinland authorities.
* Last time the KNF ended up participating in the fight in Rheinland because there wasn't an event in Kusari. If the same happens again, they will be allowed to participate in Rheinland again.

3. Pirates/Terrorists: Local pirates/terrorists from each House try to disrupt and prevent the convoy from reaching Alster.



Rules of engagement:
1. The "cruise" rule does not apply for this event;

2. Ships may not dock during the event. Any ship that docks is considered and/or disabled and may no longer fulfill its purpose in the event;

3. Transports cannot be directly engaged until 30% of the escort force is destroyed. If this quota isn't met and the pirates are down to three ships, then they may attack the transports directly regardless of the escort numbers. Once the convoy is disrupted, the transports are to move in impulse speed so the escorts can keep up (to promote a timer for the event). Transports in Kusari may break away and flee (break away and engage cruise) if the fight there takes more than ten minutes, so the players in Rheinland won't have to wait too much.

4. A maximum of 25% of the transports may be destroyed on the Kusari side of the event. The remaining transports must be allowed to escape so there can be an event on the Rheinland side;


5. If at a given point the escorts have the upperhand (as in only three pirates left), the pirates may attack the transports directly even if the necessary number of

VERY IMPORTANT: If there are any problems during the event concerning people "breaking rules" of any sort, please, contact me directly through PMs and I will sort it out myself. Remember this is supposed to be an RP event. Can't have it being disrupted by ooRP discussion. So please, don't.

I have changed the rules a bit from the first event to try and balance things a little more.

On organizational note I think it needs to be said as we start how many ships are those 30%.

PMing the number to all parties, last time I believe nobody actually had an idea about numbers.

We could also say that the last 2 (3) remaining pirates are free to attack a transport (to take it down with themselves).
