Flew a solo recon op over to Bretonia right after I had arrived on Sabah before for standard checks. I only surveyed 31 and Leeds, found a target while doing so, some Royal pilot, he wasn't really what you'd call an ace, couldn't even damage me, we had only just started the engagement when some Bretonian capital patrol came up and threw a razor at the guy's face.
And that was concluded.

I continued with another mission as Intel suggested Royal forces within the Leeds system, they were quite close to the planet when I arrived on site. I engaged two bombers, a few minutes later more royal navy assistance arrived to help them, as well as support from the bretonian armed forces.
The fight lasted longer than I had thought..I can't say much about Armed Forces combat competence, or the lack thereof. One admiral got blown apart by one of the royalist fighters and another one walked into my guns.
Either way, two targets were destroyed however I was too heavily damaged to continue engagement in a duel with the sole surviving royalist, who had no damage at all. Thankfully a Bretonian battleship, the A-HMS Conquerer provided cover fire while I got away and docked for repairs. Which was the end of that.
Repairs currently under progression, almost complete, I'm getting Intel of Royal capital vessels amassing in the Edinburgh system, looks like something is coming up, I'm not done here yet.

More Leeds combat, my Nyx's repairs had just been completed before Intel lit up with multiple capital vessels in Leeds, other Colonial forces were already on the spot by the time I got there. Couldn't take much of a good look at the Valors that were assaulting Leeds but I noticed they were being pushed back, however I was ordered to assist Resistance of the 31st in engaging a Royal Navy bomber. Took quite a few hits, unfortunately most were friendly, though I guess that happens in combat more than I had thought.
Either way, the bomber was destroyed and the Royal fleet had left system by the time we were done, the order was to RTB and my Nyx is under repairs, yet again, won't take too long this time though.

Seems my luck ran out. I was ordered to 23 where I joined a joint Colonial-IMG strike group outbound for 37 where we came across a Contari Lance snub strike group. Needless to say a fight broke out and all hell happened.
Unfortunately I was targeted first and my ship was shredded apart by the extreme firepower, I managed to eject and my pod made it to Freeport 10. Hitched a ride back to Coronado from there. I'm currently waiting for a new Nyx to be assigned, kind of disappointing to break my spree, however there was nothing I could have really done.

A simple patrol this time. Seems the 49th were going to take a quick look at Orkney and invited me to hop it, I obliged to the order. It started dull as any patrol, although we did have an ion storm coming passing through the system at one point so we were forced to dock on Dounby for around 5 to 10 minutes for the wave to pass, after that we were back on track. The commanding officer Horizon had ordered us to split into small groups and tag any hostiles in system, I went with Lizard to the system-west, about 10 minutes in, one of the groups pinged an Outcast destroyer near Kirkwall. We RV'd at the position and after intercepting and taking down it's cruise drive, we destroyed it.
However, even though this does happen very rarely, it did happen, a ghost-destroyer came out of nowhere and engaged us, we dispatched it yet again, however due to a case of friendly fire via mines we lost a single Nyx, the pod of Swordfish was retrieved.
Afterwards we set course to RTB and came across an AI capital vessel, a cruiser. It was blabbering quite a bit so we left it alone and tried to chase down some Kusarian pilot that had entered the system, however we lost it's trail when it entered Lewis. Horizon ordered an RTB afterwards.
And that was the end of that.

Before I begin on this particular report, I'd like to first state that there was no outside influence by any other Colonial officer on my decision on transmitting my observation and opinion and I will always hold any Colonial Officer the high respect they deserve, and anything to do with this report will not affect my duty to perform my duty and follow my orders.
I have been in and around most of our operation zones and have seen how different squadrons operate, for the whole day, and have been in multiple engagements all in different forms and functions. And while I might lack first-hand experience an operative capacity, I can however, compare.
And with all due respect to my superior officers in the engagements, almost all I saw was gross incompetence in tactical and strategical command as well as a blatant lack of desire or motive to better the cause. Compared to the older squadron and republican fleet, the current one is severely lacking in almost all fields. And while this is more specifically centered around the 49th, I've also noticed it another and even in the 17th, the supposedly CIS agents.
I have of course only noticed this after I enlisted into the Military and seen it for myself. At first I had thought it was an isolated event, a rare happening yet after checking numerous combat reports and relevant database files I have access to, I've noticed this has been continuing for a while.
And while I can't really form a real opinion on our forces' combat prowess I must say that we are lacking severely in terms of a tactical and strategical mindset. And my finding show that the reason is because we are too focused on fighting a real enemy, and while that might grant combat experience, it does not however teach our pilots how to fly with the rest. Mainly, we are lacking in flight drilling and instructions.
So my request is that Command reassesses our already-low training times and other instructor drills and update and reform them according to where we lack.

I've just returned home from a patrol of the Tau systems. I was accompanied by Theia of the 17th, and Lizard with the 49th, though Theia broke contact to proceed with their own mission.
During our patrol, we happened upon a Kusari snubcraft and attempted to figure out what it's intentions were. At first, it seemed like an ordinary Kusari Reserve military ship...however after I moved in to take a closer look...I discovered that the ship itself appeared to have alien technology merged with it's component. That discovery freaked me the hell out, if you'll allow me to be blunt...
Anyway, I was able to take image-file datascans of the ship in question, I don't know if they'll be much help, but they'll be attached at the end of my transmission here.
While Lizard and I were interacting with the...infected Kusari pilot, it became suddenly hostile, and at around the same time two Outcast vessels showed up.
Lizard ordered me to retreat, I assumed she was gonna follow me out, but I was wrong, and I am unaware of Lizard's current status...
In any case, I'll upload those image-files that I mentioned.

I was on Hades for a general refit, luckily I was because Intel suggested we had Contari Lancieres in 23, I went in for first recon and instead of finding just a Lanciere, I found a cruiser-class Nomad vessel along with multiple outcasts, patrols and even a gunship. Hercinia of the 49th joined in and took command, my orders were to keep the Cruiser pinned until some reinforcements arrived. Which was mainly Hercinia himself, Warrant Officer Arisu Chamberlain was on active comms and stationed in the Sabah defense grid but due to communications problems and other technical things, she got the message too late.
The Cruiser had moved to Cali and as per my orders I followed and kept it pinned, surprisingly, the Outcast gunship opened fire on the Irra and I provided as much assistance I could to the 'cast and tried to slow the cruiser down, nonetheless the 'cast died anyway, right after the other Outcasts including the Lanciere opened fire on me. By then Hercinia arrived and we started an effort to whittle the Cruiser down, but alas they had too much support and we disengaged and are now on Hades for minor repairs. Unfortunately some of my computer systems were damaged so most of my guncam data was lost.
Intel is mum on 23 at the moment, no idea on current hostile positions.
