Player Base Unkillable? - Billos - 07-07-2013

While paying on another server (with apparently very similiar PoB settings) the following happened:

Reading the PoB status list revealed a base being attacked losing around 5% HP every 5 minutes thanks to a 20+ BS bombardment. Upon reaching 3% HP (taken all the way down from 100%) the base stopped losing HP. According to the PoB list, it would drop to 2% then back up to 3% for over 2 hours. It is impossible that this base is being resupplied in the mean time.

Upon several of the battleships leaving the base healed back up to 24% then started to drop back down veeeery slowly to 3% again. Whereupon it stayed at 3% once again. Now it's healing again.

Can anyone explain this to me please? It's incredibly frustrating. Admins of said server have been asked what is happening and replied that "It must still have fuel onboard" and "The crew are dying" but that makes no sense to me after trawling Google for 2 hours for PoB information.

Has anyone experienced the same issue on any server before and/or can you explain to me what might be causing it? Like I said, resupplying of the base being attacked can not be happening due to the constant bombardment and the lack of other ships in-system.

What about docked ships full with supplies on the base or even barge?
Using your brain helps, also check the base FAQ in Tutorials section- base mechanics are explained there, also somewhere in the forum you can find base kill calculator so you know how much power you need to shot different core bases.
Also I am in huge doubts about other then main server having 20+ battleships shooting one base, sounds not realistic the rest of the servers are quite dead.

Ye Geo is probly right, docked ships supplying it from the inside. I also agree, seriously 20 BS firing non stop at the same time?

Thanks for the help but this remains unresolved Sad I'm quite aware of the base mechanics, that's why I ask here.

No docked ships in the base (no other ships in system for the past 24 hours), that 'magic 3%' is still there. This COULD be explained by the fact that we're down to 6 BS's now and the base has had ample time to build up stocks before the bombardment began.

As for your doubts about getting 20+ BS's shooting at a base. The server I'm on allows multilogging. One lad alone brung 12 of the behemoths.

A: Ships docked on there could have been there for months.

B: 6 BSs cant beat a core 4 regen, so it would start healing against that.

C: If the admins say the crew is dying, it could be that it was only dying cos of that, and once they stopped the crew dying, the base started healing.
