8 mins play then disconnect - Tunicle - 07-18-2013
Hi, any gurus with any tips?
Laptop runs no problem with little fan activity for everything but Disco.
Once Disco loads the fan rapidly speeds up and eventually shuts down - overheating I presume.
Less problem in windowed mode but still happens, same with performance turned down.
Reinstalled, defragged, cleaned etc. all to no avail.
Suggestions?

A laptop cooling stand maybe in order ? Make sure you get one that blows air at the laptop and not suck hot air out

Does it happen in other (performance-hungry) games aswell?
Already checked your notebook's temperaturs with an external program?

Only Disco.
Temperature is 55 C ish in windows mode, full screen it shoots up 70 and rising

Disco doesnt really have a good resource usage optimalization so I can easily imagine that it's something connected to overheating.
I suggest you to rise your laptop a little more away from the table (put some books under it or so), or if you can,clean the fans (but you'll need to remove the cover on the back for this).

Do not go for Full screen please. dont MAX the scree. 800x600 32 bit should reduce many heat thou
