Compatibility issues with old games on Windows 7 - SkyNet - 07-30-2013
I found some old games in my cd box and tryed to run them now on Windows 7.
For example: Thandor the Invasion
I am surprised, it works... it also works in multiplayer mode... but only with the XP-Patch. You can hear the music, sounds of the hud, the buildings and vehicles, but you can't hear the weapon effects and the main screen music. My Bro had the same problem. I dont know why.
A few years ago I played the game on Windows XP and i found out that all works well if i reduce or deactivate the hardware acceleration of the sound card and the graphic card.
But, where the hell can i change the hardware acceleration at Windows 7?!? ^^

I've already tried that. I've also started it already in the administrator mode. But in this case, it doesn't work.
It is the hardware acceleration, I'm 100% sure.

Disable Desktop Composition and Visual Themes, run it in an older version of Windows, maybe even win2k
