Honorable warriors and retainers of the Watanabe Kazoku, hear my words. We stand at the beginning of a new era, five hundred years after our ancestors made their exodus to the mists of the crow nebula, our greatest enemy kneels broken, holding only a shadow of their former power. A battle was won, but the war is still far from over. New powers seek to fill the vacuum of power left behind, and the Gallic threat now looms on the horizon.

We will not accept the so-called Republic of Kusari, it's legitimacy is denied, and the fight will continue for as long as it takes to reach the final victory, where we will march proudly through streets of New Tokyo, and sit by the side of his Imperial Majesty, the next heir to the glorious Shogunate of Kusari.

The road ahead will be hard, but we have endured for five centuries, and will endure another five if need be!

Fear not, my brethren, raise your weapons and walk into the Dragon's flame to be reborn anew, and bring our fight to the very core of the corruption we seek to estinguish! The dragons march again, and our claws will envelop all of Kusari!

--------------------------

Transmitt the reports of your operations to the Raijin network, where they will be reviewed and studied by your elders in all their wisdom.

Konichiwa Dragons of the Hirotada Shogunate,

Today Hirotada-san saw fit to take me on a tour of our Shogunate, a great honor. After a brief patrol of Chokogu we made haste to Tohoku when the sensors spiked, but it appeared to be a false alarm.
http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1009_zpsda6458c8.png

Our Shogun led me to Hokkaido system where we encountered a group of Golden Chrystanthiums. I did not appreciate thier attitude towards our Shogun, but was instructed to learn patience. The will of the Shogun prevailed.

We proceeded to Tau 23 where a preliminary sweep turned up nothing despite long range sensors and scouting drones indicating activity. The one ship we did encounter was an Outcast heading into Kusari by the name of Alicia.Sanders, which we intercepted.
http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1010_zpsc948dd25.png

Exercising extreme control, our Shogun, after scanning the Falcata bomber turned up an empty hold, reluctantly allowed the ship to leave as it insisted it was making no stops in Kusari. A last minute insult from the Outcast infuriated Hirotada-san and a pursuit began.

Intercepting the vessel in Shikoku, we had almost run the ship out of Kusari when it was reported that it had collided with Planet Junyo. My guess is that the pilot was more worried about the Watanabe Hirotada than navigation of planetary bodies.

So concludes my patrol. Long live Shogun Hirotada, and may he lead Kusari to freedom!

Izu Riekon, Ashigaru.

Konichiwa once again Dragons of the Hirotada Shogunate,

Today once I had perhaps eaten a slightly larger than acceptable piece of Shogun Hirotada's fugu dish I flew my patrol "Ich Dragon" to focus and sliently reflect on what makes an appropriate sample size when tasting the Shogun's future dishes. While the Shogun said nothing personaly I felt as if the portion was too large and I had perhaps denied the Great Hirotada Watanabe a questionable amount of exquisite and very expensive fugu.

Leaving Kyoto - http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1014_zpsedc35e89.png

After this most heinous transgression my soul burned with the desire to redeem myself in the eyes of the Shogun and his close associates also present at the meal. I heard a rumor that dark things were taking place at Kansai Research Station. I decided this is where I would strike.

As I apporached I shadowed the tradelanes, disabling them as I went, my goal to disrupt as much or the regular activities as possible costing both time and money to the new Kusari Government.

I made short work of the weapons platforms and smaller ships, but the larger capital vessels made me wary. I began making attack runs at the station but even my antimatter cannon had very little effect. Then I had the idea.

Attacking the KNF Biwa - http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1021_zpse28d68a9.png
Direct hit - http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1018_zpsc3499942.png

I continued to make my attack runs on Kansai, but only to draw the heavier capital fire the Gunship and Destroyer were tracking me with. Flying between the station and the capital vessels, the weapons were easy to evade and several heavy ordinance slammed into the side of a very expensive government research station, doing far more damage than I could have hoped to have done.

With my batteries and nanobots running low I knew I had to leave the area. But had I done enough to cleanse myself of my percieved insult to the Shogun? I decided I hadn't, and more redemption was sought.

I encountered a convoy of [*USI*] ship near Yukawa Shipyard, but I could not get close with the two battlecruisers patrolling there. I moved further up the lane and waited for the transports, which fell right into my lap. One tried to run for it but I made sure that we got some credits from the other foriegner as tribute to the Great Watanabe Shogunate for traversing thier space.

[*USI*] pay protection - http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1025_zpsede31ba5.png

These credits have already been transfered to the Shogun's personal account. I hope this is enough to supply you with many more portions of fugu, all of which I pray to taste.

Izu Riekon, Ashigaru.

My brethren,

Today, I received a distress call from our Ashigaru, Izu Riekon. A bretonian gunboat bearing a Bounty Hunter IFF was spotted within the confines of our home, Chugoku. The pilot of this vessel did not stop to explain himself, therefore we pursued and finally intercepted it in Hokkaido.

The captain still provided no words, and as such we were unable to interrogate him. We did, however, serve him his punishment, may the void accept his spirit.

-Guncam Recording

On a related note, I am also passing by the request of our Shogun to promote the Ashigaru Riekon. And so, from this day forward, you will be known as Gokenin Izu Riekon. Well done!

This concludes the report, long live the Blood Dragons.

My brave warriors and dear friends,

The meeting with the Vagrant Raiders was interrupted by a Nomad morph, Assassin class.

The creature offered some cryptic messages about claims and legacy, nothing I never heard before. I was unable to get a clear lock on the creature, and the Daidarabotchi was having trouble navigating through a particularly dense patch of asteroids.

Nevertheless, I managed to persuade it to leave.

I am hereby issuing an alert of medium priority, be on your guard, there may be more, lurking in the mists.

Afterwards, the meeting proceeded according to plan, and the negotiations went well. Four Raider pilots will be allowed to resupply on our base, in times of dire need, and a transport may visit us periodically with supplies, and possibly engaging in trade.

This concludes the announcement. Honor and Glory, Long live the Blood Dragons.

~Signed, Hirotada Watanabe

Konichiwa Dragons of the Hirotada Shogunate,

It has been some time since I have reported in as my patrols have taken me all over Kusari. The WK|IGS-Oni is a demon of a craft and she and her crew are performing well. My path has been a fruitful one, and I am proud to have enforced the will of the Shogun on several occasions -

Fuski - Chased off but not before relinquishing many of our brothers. http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1098_zps92b9ba3e.png

All told, 8 million in compensation paid for various transgressions in Shogunate controlled space and 37 Blood Dragon pilots liberated and returned to their families on Kyoto.

Long live the Shogun, and may our enemies tremble!

Report: Contact with the 'Sisters of Light'

Today, long range scans indicated a mass of [KNF] ships in the Kyushu system. Taking action, Izu and I took through the Hokkaido system to meet them with great haste. Along the way we made contact with an unfamiliar branch of the Golden Chrysanthemums, known as the Sisters of Light. The honorable ally agreed to join us on our pursuit.

Midway through the encounter with the foolish [KNF], an electric storm disrupted our signals and I went to drag the enemies away while Izu and the Sister re-made contact. This caused the destruction of my ship, but I was recovered by a quick Tanto patrol and my escape pod hauled to Ainu for immdiate medical attention.

While I was placed under many tests, I realized that the Sisters of Light, or the \W/ as they tag themselves as, maybe crucial allies in our cause against the government. They are smart, quiet, polite and as sharp as a sword. To see more of these Sisters would be a pleasure for the cause.

I return from another successful patrol with more tribute for the Watanabe Kazoku.

I journeyed to Hokkaido on patrol when sensors detected ship activity. The WK|IGS-Oni intercepted a large Hogosha shipment of Sake and it wasn't leaving without a contribution to the Shogunate. The pilot promptly offered up as much of the beverage as I could hold and I reluctantly allowed the transport to leave, but not without showing who controls this area to them.

Suspicious that the Hogosha may have attempted to assasinate the Shogun through cowardly poison, I diligently tasted every bottle of the 101 cases of fine Sake. Several cases that I have already sampled as my official role dictates are now awaiting reception at Hirotada's personal compound. Enjoy!

Izu Riekon, Gokenin.

My brethren,

I will take this moment to introduce a new stage of our operations. Unexpected jumphole shifts brought an entire new theatre to our space. Deep inside the treacherous mists of Rishiri, a new connection emerged, one that leads straight into Gallia.

This would have been a fortunate development, if not for the unlawful elements from the other side. The Gallic pirates have already started launching assaults into -our- space, in an attempt to sate their greed with the riches of Kusari. Unacceptable.

I already managed to perform a sweep of the system, accompanied with one of our faithful Ashigaru, Hideo Saitou.

Recordings - 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 -

We also managed to capture some stray pilots that attempted to engage us within, they are being interrogated and will hopefully reveal the locations of their hidden bases within the system.

I suggest, no, I encourage you to perform sweeps of Rishiri, in order to keep their advance in check, we don't need more foreign elements on the scene of our nation.

I will also use this occasion to extend my congratulations to Gokenin Riekon, and welcome him to my personal force, as a Hatamoto. Steel yourself, warrior, your true journey begins only now.

~Signed, Hirotada Watanabe

With the Birthday of the Shogun fast approaching it is time for me to reveal the plans I have been hard at work on. I know some of you have been wondering about my motivations over the past few months as I have drawn more heavily upon the the resources of the Watanabe Kazoku, but I assure you all, and I'm sure you will agree, my plans have born great fruit.

But first I will share with you the successes of my latest patrol, and our lack of tolerance for foreign war vessels.

As the fragile Kusari "government" crumbles under its cowardice, it appears the are turning to Rheinland for help. Located near the Sigma 13 jumpgate this destroyer's proximity to Hikone was unacceptable. Exercising my newly bestowed rank I rallied a bomber squad together and we quickly dispatched this intruder of the Shogunate.

http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1104_zpsf15f0cb0.png

But that is mere icing on the cake. Some of you may have seen the unfortunate crash of a large GMG H-Fuel transport into the oceans of Planet Honshu circulated on news channels early last month. The core of the transport ruptured weeks later caused a whirlpool so large it was seen from orbit. But this is just the story that was fed to the press.

During the overthrow of the Hideyoshi Dynasty in 321 AS many of the assets of the Emperor were hidden for a time when the Imperial guard could regain enough influence to effectively use them. One such asset I found a reference to in my time at Sendai - The Kraken - One of the revered Togo class Battleships.

During the time of the coup, the Kraken was marked as destroyed in Planet Honshu's orbit. This was an elaborate ruse, and the vessel was crash-landed deep in the Southern Red Ocean, where it has remained hidden for many centuries. We have been secretly making repairs underwater on the hull of the vessel for weeks until we could repressurise it.

I contacted one of our sympathisers in the Gas Miner's Guild as our repairs progressed. They had a badly damaged transport that had been attacked by Red Hessians during a recent delivery into Rheinland, and needed to arrange an unfortunate accident to occur for insurance purposes. This is the same transport laden with H-fuel that suffered a "navigation malfunction" on Kusari-wide News channels last month. Secreted aboard this ship was also parts for a Hyperspace module.

Although an atmospheric take-off may have been possible, we are still unsure about the functionality of several of the systems on the vessel and the amount of attention such a course would draw presented unacceptable risk. A hyperspace jump meant we could keep the vessel entirely secret, and this event was the true cause of the whirlpool.

http://i1033.photobucket.com/albums/a419/nexus0404/screen1112_zpsd3e77754.png

While the jump was successful, the strain of the hyperspace travel from underwater was great and we believe the hyperspace unit is now damaged and needs major work. The Kraken is now safely at Mito Shipyards, and is awaiting inspection from our respectful Shogun while repairs resume. I hope this explains my actions over the past few months.

Izu Riekon, Hatamoto.
