2 questions about the 4.87 - Wraga - 08-27-2013 Since I dont have enough time to explore all of the planned modifications for the 4.87, I would like ask for the following. 1, Is there any plan to restore the Smuggler, Slaver, Researcher, etc. IDs in the next version? 2, I tried to suggest a new command what could be the same like /setmsg but just for roleplay issues by adding the "name" as a fixed option when talking to others. /setname or something like that and you dont need to type the roleplay name every time when using the chat. It will be added somehow or just lost in space? Thank you RE: 2 questions about the 4.87 - Jinx - 08-27-2013 1. no known plans there - might need further discussions about the pros and cons i do believe the plan was to simplify the ID system a bit more - so that corporate reserachers for example would use the vanilla faction IDs ( like Cryer, who runs the CRI .. or an unlawful ID to describe a smuggler - or if it is rather small scale .. a freelancer for individual researchers and a pirate ID for individual smuggling .. within the contraints of the limitations of each ID ) 2. no plans there - writing the name in front of a message is a playerchoice that does not particularly enrich the gameplay or roleplay. it is very subjective if it is actually beneficial or not if it is very important to a player - an intermediete method is to not name the ship itself by the shipname but include the charname (eg. not "[LNS].Alamo" but "[LNS].Alamo-Cpt.Pierce" ) - yea not a perfect solution - but if one writes the name anyway - like all the times, you might as well put it in your ships name. but that, too might be subject of a discussion - there is currently no active discussion about it - nor has there been to my knowledge on the dev board or the trac or the dev chat. it does not hurt to initiate one though - actually i cannot remember having a public thread about either of those items - at least not in the near past. RE: 2 questions about the 4.87 - Wraga - 08-27-2013 You are right, those threads are old enough to not pop novadays. Thanks the answers, were usefull. |
