Bonjour.

My name is Francois DeVersailles. I am the Chief Security Officer of Liberty Trade Shipping. Before you start asking questions, yes, I am Gallic. I used to be a GRN commander, before an... accident happened and I joined the Council, before moving to Liberty and starting a career in LTS. But enough about my personal life, to business. Now, I have contacted your organizations for a reason. I do not know if you have been following our Media Center, but we have recently acquired a barge from one of our employees. We intend to use this ship as a mobile trade center in the Dublin system. This means that the ship will be regularly filled up with ore so that traders from all over Sirius can come here and just buy ore from the barge instead of waiting for one of your miners to fill it up. We would like to secure a deal with at least one of you for the filling up of that Barge. Instead of paying for each payment, we wanted to either pay a monthly fee, and of course give all of your transports a discount on the ore. Another option is we pay 5M to each miner for each 5k shipment (negotiable), and pay a smaller monthly fee (about 100-200 millions each) which will be distributed whichever way you see fit. Also, when filling up the Barge, I am afraid either the miner will be flying a Hegemon or Annapurna miner ships, or be accompanied by transports, as I am afraid the Barge will stay clear of the asteroid fields, for obvious (I hope) reasons; such a large ship actually has a gravitational field, and it tends to attract high-velocity asteroids, which can cause problems; and we want to avoid getting the ship stuck in a field. So please, take that into consideration. If no deal is reached, we would like to ask for the authorization to hire independent miners to fill in the blanks.
To the Molly: We would like to reach a "deal" with your organization too: we do not want war. We are a peaceful trading corporation; we are not looking for a fight. I would like to know what would be needed for you to leave all LTS ships alone. Since I have no idea what you might want, I'll just let you make a (not too high, please) offer. Thank you.

Ah, oui. One last thing. The Barge is not yet in Dublin. It is currently in the Languedoc system, on its way through the minefield; it is expected to reach Dublin before the end of the week. Merci for understanding.

Best regards,
Francois DeVersailles
Chief Security Officer,
Liberty Trade Shipping

**** SENDER: Jack Henderson, IMG Operations Coordination ****

**** TO: Francois DeVersailles [Liberty Trade Shipping Chief Security Officer] ****

Dear Mr. DeVersailles,

I am Jack Henderson, and I manage Operations for the IMG. I used to run the Hood, so I am familiar with Dublin and its challenges, which I hope you are, too. Your idea has been received and it has been discussed in the Guild.

The Guild has experience in operating Barges in Dublin, and what you propose was done in the past, however the Dublin Gold Crisis resulted in the breakdown of the large scale mining operations.

However, I see an entrepreneur who wants to give Dublin and gold a chance and the Guild has to keep their miners in Dublin employed to not increase social tensions even more. Here you come in handy.

The Guild can offer you this:

IMG miners can fill the vessel for 2000 credits per unit. That's the absolute minimum. Gold ore likely cannot be resold in Dublin for much more than 4000. This would mean we share the profit of 2000 credits / unit 50-50.

If you manage to sell for 5000 regularly, we would like to have the price raised to 2500 credis per unit, but for a startup we can go for 2000 cr and see where we go.

With a price like that and an exposed target like a Barge class storage vessel, we have to talk about risk management. In filling operations, the risk is often on the miner's side. For such a big vessel, we need a risk sharing plan. I am open for suggestions.

Furthermore, Sir: Contact the Mollys. If they don't know and did not agree, and if you did not make them happy, they will make you very unhappy. I have seen more than one businessman who had his business hit hard by ignoring who de-facto owners of Dublin.

I'm looking forward from hearing from you.

Jack Henderson
IMG Operations Coordination

Bonjour.

Thank you for accepting our offer. The 2k/unit price fits LTS very well. We hope to be able to begin operations as soon as possible. Also, I agree with you, we need some sort of security plan. What do you suggest? Personally, I was thinking about contacting the Mollys and paying a fine or whatever they want. If that fails, then we have to think about something else. Again, what do you suggest?

Best regards,
Francois DeVersailles

*Joesph scratches his head*

So, from what i understand, you are wanting the Mollys to stop pirating you in order for you guys to make a profit? Well, in order for you to make some profit, we must do so too. I can't speak on behalf of the Mollys as an entire, but i can speak on behalf of the Cowboys From Hell. So, in order to get the Cowboys to leave you bunch alone, we require a few things. First of, LTS vessels will not attack or approach any Cowboy vessels. Second off, you will pay us a ransom of 50 Million Credits per a week. With the acceptance of this offer, i will personally make sure the Cowboys do not pirate, hurt or kill you.

It was wise for you to contact us, unless you decline. Put it this way, if you decline i will make sure the boys specifically hunt you and your barge intill you decide to get the hell out of our system.

Understood?

Bonjour.

On behalf of LTS, I would like to thank you for answering. However, there is one slight problem. A few, actually.
You say that you represent only CFH-, is that right? And you ask for 50M per week. However, I am quite sure that your "brothers", or whatever you call them, will ask us for money too. You see, the problem we currently have is that we are a small company. We are not OSI, we are not BWE. We can't possibly pay you and all other Molly groups if we are to make a payment. So, I have an offer for you. Either we pay you 150M per month instead of 50M per week, or you reduce the amount from 50M to, say, 30M. Thank you for understanding.

*A smile crosses her face*

'Ello love. I must say, 'tis interstin' t' get a comm like this come across meh desk. Especially when one is so blatant in revealin' who dis message goes t'. In one hand ya seek t' get ta approval from ta BMM, one of our most hated enemies, an in ta other seek t' get ta approval of ta Mollys Council as well. Ya must not 'ave thought this through lad.

Ta only approval ya should've sought is ours. Dublin is ours, not ta foul arses in ta BMM whom sought to rid us of our homes an' livelihood years ago. Perhaps ya need to be reminded of who we are lad. Do some more research, an' perhaps then ya'll know what a mistake ya made when ya made yer dealin's with them known.

But, I am not an unreasonable woman. Ya seek t' make a livin', an I can respect that. What I will not respect or tolerate is another corporation invadin' our home systems an' doin' what they please. Our fields, our gold, our rules. The BMM can roast alive in ta sun. Dis is our system, not theirs. An' we remove them often when they fail t' realize this. So, point bein', ya fail to realize dis, an ya take advantage of dis, then ya will face meh. An' trust me love, ta last person ya want t' get on ta bad side of is meh.

So, down t' business. Ya wish t' fill yer Barge with Molly Gold on a regular basis. These are meh conditions:

  • You will only have one LTS transport vessel at a time. The Barge, in this instance. Any others will be considered hostile.
  • You will not employ the use of the BMM in ANY operation.
  • All Molly bases are restricted from use. You land, you die. Agreement is void.
  • You will pay a monthly mining fee to the Mollys, sent to [M]-Alp-Luachra, in the amount of 200mil. As a vessel of that size, that amount will not be hard to come by. You know this, we know this. Don't attempt to screw with us.
  • Failure to pay the monthly fee, or if we catch you employing BMM vessels, will result in your removal from our system with violence and will void the agreement.

Now, if ya agree to our terms, then ya have our permission ta collect gold in our fields. If not, an' we catch ya here anyway, not even Liberty will be safe from our reach. Don' test us lad. Trust meh, ya will regret it as I pry yer disobedient tongue from yer mouth should ya decline our terms.

Bonjour.

Understood. Do not worry, we did not intent to work with BMM anyway, just notify them of our presence. We agree to most of your terms. However, there are a few problems.

First, you said you would only allow ONE LTS transport in Dublin. I understand why, but there is one problem. The fact is, we intended to send transports to be filled up by the ship. So, I ask that you augment the maximum amount to 3, including the Barge, thus allowing us to continue with our operations, at the same time letting you have a certain degree of control. IMG ships are not included in this.

We will also not land on your bases. Our transports have no reason to do so, and the Barge will never move from the proximity of the Hood; it would be stupid to send it in an asteroid field anyway.

Also, an important point is that the Barge is not yet in service. We will begin paying the fees ONLY when the Barge is in active service and has earned us some money. I think that is all I have to say for now.

Sincèrement,
Francois DeVersailles

*Joesph is slightly annoyed*

You ether accept it, or you don't. That's up too you.

Make your mind up, and soon.
